Best of all, he uses this particular brand - Davines mask hair color the last time I went in January 2025. My hair is so healthy and the color has lasted so long! I know it can be scary getting your hair colored or cut, but Hannah was honest, communicative, and gentle. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and explained I wanted to keep the length in my hair while I was well aware my ends were not healthy. She was very careful to cut only what needed to be cut. And, she and everyone there were great to even chat with while everything was being done. They have a great environment with a light, uplifting atmosphere. The price was very reasonable for the service. (Please also remember that you get what you pay for, especially when going lighter!). I found this place to be a great value - professional, luxury results at an affordable rate. It was truly a pleasant experience working with Hannah and I highly recommend her (and this business altogether). Don't hesitate to book an online appointment: you can go to the website and book a consult there if you want to meet them first to discuss what you want (like I did). They're great at scheduling you in via their website. Let the photos speak for themselves, it is well-worth making an appointment here.

Michael, the barber, was amazing--super kid-friendly, patient, and genuinely connected with them. As a fellow Pokémon and One Piece fan, he instantly clicked with both boys, chatting away like old friends. They sell One Piece cards and my boys definitely left with some souvenirs. It turned a simple haircut into a really fun memory. The cuts themselves? Sharp, clean, and just in time for our son's upcoming graduation--they both looked so handsome walking out. We'll absolutely be coming back here each trip to the Big Island. Can't recommend Michael and Cristina's Hair Salon enough if you're looking for great energy, talent, and a kid-friendly experience.

I chanced upon Rosana when I was helping a friend on the Big Island. My friend was due at any time and Rosanna not only squeezed me in but unbeknownst to me, came in on her day off to do my hair. I love stylists who can create and do something fun and beautiful. A random stranger complimented my hair afterwards that day and said how it reminded him of Pele and the volcanos. It reminds me of the Hawaiian sunsets. Other than the grays that have grown in, the colors have faded to a very nice caramel highlight throughout, and I haven't found someone that could follow Rosana's beautiful creation so I've only touched up the roots. The last photo is what it looks like now, over 6 months later. I wish she was near to create something magical for my Burning Man look although she did send me a few ideas.
