Being gifted with terrible shoulders, I've seen physical therapist many times in different states…read moreover 25 years. I have had by far the best success at Trails End - Sue and Dawn are excellent. In the past 5 years, I've needed PT for a swimmer's shoulder injury and after surgery for a ruptured achilles tendon. Both times my PT with Sue and Dawn was crucial to a good outcome, allowing me to return to swimming and hiking, skiing, etc. They are patient, thorough, kind yet tough (PT hurts! but stick to it). I have no question that I would return to Trails End should I need PT again in the future.

I am posting a pic of my release letter just to show the exact wording used by my own PT Marge. But first I wanna say i built up some strength but at a cost the last few weeks I think we increased the weight too much, I did hurt something in my left hand it's been that way after the first noticeable weight increase. Also a new shoulder injury with pain during rotation. Still exists now. My main concern was the letter and what she said. Since I'm on a workers comp claim, I was injured at work. All my appointment are mandatory obviously and so is any PT, or any other hoop they ask you to do. Which I gladly do. But what she said clearly puts my entire livelihood at risk since I'm the major breadwinner at my home.. this lady Marge, Clearly stating that I had "4" NO SHOWS. In the next sentence she says that I had rescheduled that same day. I did give her notice and even rescheduled for later in the same day.. 2 were cause of doc visits at the same time so I rescheduled my PT obviously.. and the supposed "4th" no show I was there.. and the front door was locked... during business hrs.. so I'm not even sure why she wrote that and I was not going to go back and ask just to have a conflict.. and clearly writes that I purchased a kayak and have gone kayaking several times.... are you fucking kidding me..... I hope some upper management can see and review this.. if you look at the address you can see this is the new Gladstone location. While I was there for over 3 months I only seen 3 other people.. and on a side note every time I came to my appointment the doors were always locked. Even midday, It's no wonder I only seen 3 other people.

My problem with this company, FYZICAL Therapy, that took over Advance Sport and Spine in West Linn,…read moreOR about 2 years ago, concerns their policy of treating only 1 issue/visit. Over 4 years ago I contracted a chronic, crippling disease called Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR.) I returned for the PT I needed to start functioning better after being extremely ill for many months as my PMR was starting to remiss. I had had a great therapist when it was still Advance Sport and Spine so I started appointments with her again. She had previously successfully treated several other very difficult issues over several years and taught me how to maintain the progress. However, the new owners (FYSICAL) had a policy that therapists could treat only one condition during a visit. The FYZICAL visits were also 5 min shorter, from 45 min to 40 min. Since I had many areas of pain (poly means many), it would have taken years at the rate we were going to deal with all my joint and connective tissue problems. So on the advice of my MD I started a senior fitness class at 24Hr Fitness in Gladstone. I am so happy I found a more successful program. After 3 mos of attending 2-1hr, sessions/week (*with a few missed due to holidays and travel), I realized one day that for the first time in a long time, I could actually stand up from a chair w/o using my arms. I also noticed that my balance was improving. Now I'm 1 year in and despite the extensive damage I suffered, I have improved in virtually every area that was formerly troublesome. I don't understand the policy of only allowing one treatment per visit as I had made such good progress before for equally serious issues. The FYZICAL visits were also 5 min shorter, from 45 min to 40 min. I am so happy I found a more successful program, however I do miss my previous therapist. Good wishes to all who are on a similar path to recover loss of many functions. I had almost given up.

Past experiences with other places left us…read morefeeling as if Physical Therapy was just more of a "money grab" rather than an actual rehabilitating, therapeutic process. After spotting Benchmark, I saw a TV ad. I figured why not give this place a try. Day 1 was amazing. The receptionist checked us in quickly and made everything streamlined...from the appointments, to the insurance, to the paperwork, etc. We met with therapists Elle and Megan. Their disposition alone helped to calm our fears about physical therapy. They took immediate control and wasn't afraid to get their hands dirty. They removed the bandages to assess the injury, measured the swelling for future reference, took measurements of flexion and extension...this place is thorough. We had no hesitation in setting up new appointments. We have since seen other therapists and have been pleased with their continued escalation of workouts based on my progress. They definitely coordinate a recovery plan and communicate this with the staff. JJ has been phenomenal. Thank you JJ! I'm happy to leave this five star review and even happier to be back on my feet without crutches after an ACL Reconstruction in as little as two weeks. Lastly, it's not only the physical recovery they assist with. They help you regain the mental strength and confidence, to be confident in yourself and your abilities. Train the mind and the body will follow. Thank you Benchmark - Oregon City!
