She's also just super nice and friendly! Her assistant, Kayleigh, is wonderful too. And she gives the best head massage when shampooing. I believe Gracie talked to me about skin care today and she gave really helpful, tailored guidance! The new salon space is incredible. It felt like a spa experience rather than a haircut. I can't recommend booking with Brandi enough.

The five star reviews ARE TRUE!…read more First, the ambiance was so relaxing. Im talking essential oil diffuser, low chandelier lights, candles for sale, fun couches, with a maximalist-esque decor vibe, and even a little library! Second, I came in to get a bad color fixed from another salon and believe me when I say that she went above and beyond. I didn't expect much since it was in pretty bad shape coming in, but she blended it so well and did exactly what I wanted. Going back to the relaxing environment, at the shampoo bowl, I nodded off THREE times because I was so relaxed. THREE TIMES! That's never happened with uncomfortable shampoo bowls being at odd angles, but the bowl was what all shampoo bowls everywhere need to be! It's by appointment only so you'll want to book in advance if you want to get in. After I booked, I went to look for another time and she was already booked a month out. (Not surprising!!) Great conversationalist, wonderful treatment, took her time on me, and just.. what a lovely experience. I would say this place is definitely a Maplewood gem.

What would I do while she was getting her hair done? Would I even enjoy myself listening to the conversations around me? Well, when we got there, it was in the middle of a strip mall near a grocery store and some other things. I'm not one for situational aesthetics, but it honestly reminded me of a Great Clips or something like that. Not that there is anything wrong with places like that, I've gotten great hair cuts from plenty of places like them. Anyway, I was amazed at how the salon was set up. We were immediately greeted and while the stylist was working on someone at the time, we were reassured that it wouldn't be long. Since it was so close to the holidays, it didn't seem that there were a lot of people there getting their hair done. Probably a lot better than having a full house when people probably wanted to get to holiday parties with their family and friends. What was super nice was that Katie even had time to do my hair so I walked out of the salon feeling super beautiful all over again. A couple weeks later and I'm still feeling just as pretty as when I got it done. People are still complimenting me on my hair color and I couldn't thank them enough. I just wish that I had someone closer who could do my hair like this whenever I need it. Back to the drawing board, I guess.
