I had a minor repair that they ended being so minor, they ended up doing it for free. A lot of places would have gone ahead and billed something. I have also had hitch installed on a Mazda CX9 years ago and they do good work. I don't remember the cost, but it was cheaper than having the dealership add it when we bought the car. read more

Like everybody else, as soon as the weather warmed up this year, I realized I needed a trailer. I shopped around, looking at ads on craigslist, and comparing prices among the three stores in town I could find that carried trailers. Ashland Hitch was the least expensive, and while I stood around their show room waiting for my trailer to be pulled around, I overheard the sales associates on the phone and in person with potential customers. Based on their conversations, it strikes me as the kind of place that will tell you the truth about your situation and solution, rather than sell you crap that won't work in the long term. Wow. Do NOT go here. I left my trailer to have it inspected and called the next morning to talk to them. Turns out that they don't do trailer inspections, but said that they could do a safety check and would give me the name of a place down the road that did inspections. So I went ahead with the safety check. I told them that I'd need to pick it up by the end of the week, and asked them to call before they did any repairs. The end of the week came and I hand't heard from them so I called and they hadn't even started looking at it. I told them that I needed to come pick it up that evening, and could they please fit it in. They told me that they couldn't just bump me to the front of the line, but if I could come at closing time, they might have a chance to look at it. When I got there they said that they had completed the safety check and charged me $88. They told me that my bearings were so bad that they didn't just need to be repacked - they needed to be replaced. They told me that they could do this for about $250. This sounded very fishy to me so I took the trailer to another place to get it checked out, and it was clear that Ashland Hitch hadn't even LOOKED at the bearings - the seals were all still old and unbroken. So Ashland Hitch charged me $88 to let the trailer sit on their lot for a week. Great. read more
