This is a place that I never would have known about if it weren't for the coupon book from the Dutch Host Inn package. I'm glad they were included because this place is a gem! There is parking right in front of the building, but not a huge amount of spaces so I imagine in the height of tourist season it might be tough to find a spot. They have a lot of local products and basically everything you could want for baking and cooking needs. There is a whole wall with a variety of spices and spice blends. I came home with the dill pickle one because someone said it tastes like the grinch seasoning that McDonalds had for their fries this past winter and my kids agree that it does. They have maple products, bulk candy, tons of jams and jellies, produce, a deli area and the back room is lined with refrigerated shelves/displays chock full of goodies like cheese, various dips (some sweet, some savory) and there are many options for samples. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They asked if we had any questions and were eager to help when we had a question on if they carried something. Prices were also very reasonable. This is a great little shop, it's has everything you need for your cooking and baking needs. They also have produce, a deli, baked goods, ice cream and their wall of spices. If you need it they have it. We have been coming down for years. The store has increased in size since we first started to visit. The store is always very clean and well organized. This is a great little store to get any essentials for cooking, baking, and so much more. I also like to get snack mixes, assorted candies and chocolates here. They have a small deli and bakery with lots to choose from. This store is on the smaller side and can get quite busy. Sometimes it's hard to get to things because the checkout line is down the aisle but it moves fast. The store itself is clean. And don't forget they have a nice pet treat display where I always pick up a couple bags for my dog. read more

We always include a stop at The Ashery when traveling to Amish Country for cheese, lunch meats, spices, bird seed, and dried goods including such staples as sugar and flour. This is a fantastic store my only complaint is its popularity. If you go during busy season don't think you'll be able to leisurely browse because it will be 1 way traffic and you have to move at the pace that everyone else is or the 100 people behind you will become upset. I like to stock up on my dry goods for the winter here. They have great homemade noodles in a lot of shapes. I get my barley here in bulk my mom likes to buy bulk dry tapioca and get some spices. They have a deli where you can get a fresh made sandwich and a great selection of jerky. read more

I haven't been to Ashery for ten years, and I was stunned at the remodel and all the extra space. It was much needed, and it made the shopping experience much more efficient. Spotlessly clean, and seamless organization of dry goods. My sister does a lot of baking, so this place is her jam. Plenty of bulk spices, flours, sugars, and lots of hard to find items. Well, maybe not hard to find if you're on Amazon, but the clientele of this shop still uses a horse and buggy for transportation. There are samples of the bulk food products throughout the aisles, you could easily fill up on a trip there. A couple items I always purchase when I visit are Trail Bologna (if you're an Ohio native, you'll understand this) and Guggiesberg cheeses. The baby Swiss is a longtime favorite, but their pepperjack is spicy and delicious, too. I always grab bags of tiny marshmallows, too. They're great for hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. The prices are so reasonable, I wish I had access to a place like this during the holidays. This is the kind of place you'd really appreciate if you were aiming for an "off the grid" lifestyle, hence the multitude of Amish customers. If it weren't for the computerized scales and cash registers, you'd swear you'd gone back in time as soon as you set foot in the place. The scenery for miles around Ashery is worth the drive alone. Rolling farmland, old barns and grazing livestock. Keep a light foot on the gas pedal, the horse drawn buggies are everywhere, and they'll force you to slow down and be more mindful of your surroundings. read more

The Ashery was our first stop of the day. I did most of my shopping here. They have a large variety of candy, cappuccino mixes, soups and dips, etc. I spent so much money here but it is definitely worth it. I'm glad we went early enough where it wasn't too crowded just yet. I wanted a couple of pumpkins to carve and I couldn't believe the size of them for just $6! My mom also got a couple of huge mums for just $10 each. The prices are definitely worth it. read more

Been here a few times now. If you need a quick snack, they have samples of lots of items out for the tasting. Jellies, jams, spreads, cheeses, etc. They also have a small ice cream shop. Lots of spices in small or bulk packages along with lots of baking ingredients. Lots of different flour up to 50lb bags. Some grocery type items but this is not s grocery store primarily. I live in Lagrange Ohio, which is about 45 minutes away from this place--it is well worth the trip. Very clean and well organized and stocked, I purchase my dry goods and lunchmeat and cheese from here. I am spoiled, I will not buy deli from a grocer anymore!
