If you're reading these reviews trying to choose a stylist, try Vega - you won't regret it. The salon itself is gorgeous and welcoming - I love all the snacks and drinks they offer, the music is always great and the rest of the employees are lovely and seem to be equally great at their work, from what I've observed. I'm moving to Boston soon but I plan on scheduling appointments with Vega whenever I visit Michigan, rather than finding a new stylist in MA. That should tell you everything you need to know!

She should be called the queen of layers because I always love the layers she gives so I can keep my long hair but still feel lighter and fresh with the cut. Fanar is awesome too as he cuts my husband's hair and always gives a great cut and service. Helena and Fanar also make you feel like you are at home when you are in the salon. I hate posting negative reviews of a company or person but this situation unfortunately warrants…read moreit. I went to Flip Salon on Tuesday to have Melissa Maiullo cut and color my hair. I had a good experience with her straightening my hair before so I went back. I thought she was a good person who just messed up until instead of owning her mistake, she tried to lie, cheat and gaslight her way out of it. Instead of doing a good job on my hair she edited a photo to make it look like she did as an excuse not to refund me any money. If she would have told me I can't do what you want but I can give you regular highlights, I would have said no thank you and left. I NEVER expected her to fabricate a photo to skirt culpability. She sold her integrity for $365 and revealed herself to be an untrustworthy person with weak character and morals. The owner is going to comment about how the lighting in the salon made my hair look like that but Irene, you need to stop gaslighting me. I was in your salon under the same lighting that the (edited) photo was taken in and my hair looked nothing like it. Otherwise I would have left happy and been upset later. And that's not what happened is it? Stop gaslighting me. But if you're sticking to that then who wants to go to a salon that makes their hair look COMPLETELY different from what you went there for as soon as you walk outside? This all could have been solved so easily if Melissa said I'm so sorry, I misunderstood what you wanted and did something completely different--instead of doubling down on her lies and getting the owner to co-sign them. A little accountability from two adult women is not too much to ask for. Edit: Irene, you did not offer to fix my hair for free, you offered to re-tone it. Toner will not make my hair lighter and you know that. Also, Irene, you took the photo of my hair outside. How are you going to say it's just the lighting? I contacted Irene and said I would take my reviews down--all she has to do is retake the photo in the salon lighting and show me that I'm wrong. That the photo isn't edited. Instead of taking two seconds to do that, she blocked me. Looks like accountability is not in the cards for her.

Photos are from December 2022. Hair still looks the same because it cost me nearly $700 for the 9 hour bleaching session. When the artist declined photos stating it was "too dark in the salon" I knew she knew she messed up. I felt awful for wanting to publish a bad review because she spent 9 whole hours on my hair. But she could've asked me to do this in two sessions and done it right. I was unaware at the time the salons can do separate sessions and have you come back for another bleach or toning. It should've been recommended that I do separate sessions since my hair is nearly 3 feet. Maybe bit off more than she could chew. Again I felt like it was going to be rude to say I didn't like it after 9 hours of work but it's my hair that I've had for 25 years and paid a lot of money for. The initial suggestion was she wanted to do only the top layer of my hair for $700 and leave the inside alone. Which was more reasonable but the same price for less work.. which I feel she did the original plan anyways because of the underside having more severe banding and bleached not as high up. **This review is only about the banding and not about the color. The photos were taken two months after so the initial toning has come out a bit. The original blonde was bright and lovely.

Holly cut my husband's hair. She seemed nice, was chatty at the beginning and end and concentrated during the cut. The wash and cut took about 30 minutes. It also cost $30. Tips have to to be given in cash, rather annoying since I am not one to ever carry around cash and don't want to be paying $3 to use an ATM machine, which is ornamental, as it does not work. The top was nicely trimmed. I did have to clean the sideburn on his left cheek and around his ears on the right side of too. The attention to detail needs a bit of work.
