I find the ASB app incredibly helpful and convenient which is such a bonus I don't know any awful lot about the banking sector but their consultants are great. They also offer great advice! Well done ASB I will be a customer for life

Our first car was stolen about two years ago and we were insured with AMI at the time. I have to…read moresay they were quite good about the whole thing and reimbursed us most of what we were owed. We got $3K for the car but there was a lot of stuff in it which also needed replacing. They took 2 pairs of prescription sunglassess, a jacket, a GPS system and about 50 of my best cds(that was the worst bit for a music lover like me). I thought they would reimburse us for the contents but what we had to do was contact the Optician etc and get a quote for our sunglasess. AMI then directly paid the Optician and we went into to pick them up when they were ready. Like I've said they reimbursed us everything and were reasonable to deal with. We have a new car, new shades and all rest so we are motoring along nicely now, thanks to them.

Westpac may not be the most efficient bank in the universe, but this particular branch is really,…read morereally onto it. I set up my eftpos account here and done several over-the-counter transactions since then. There's never been a long queue, the staff have always been friendly and even the security guard makes you feel welcome, pointing you to the right person to talk too with a huge smile on his face. It's so easy for people to make you feel really awkward or nervous in a bank, but I never feel that way here. It's also a great choice for students, because they have good incentives and very small fees. Aside from their annoying 'westie pac' representatives haunting the universities during O Week, these guys know how to please you on a daily basis. Only downside is the turn around time of money during the weekend - it's painfully slow. So get it in on Thursday night if you can!

The staff here are quick, friendly and efficient. I needed to activate my new bankcards (look out Auckland I'm becoming official!) and withdraw some cash. In less than 7 minutes I had flash colored bills and bank cards with pin numbers. I did not notice if there were ATM's outside or not, guess I'll just have to return and get more money to burn!

This is a pretty small bank, but I guess Pt Chev isn't a huge suburb. This bank has been here for…read morealong for a long time. Apart from earning it the distinction of being my first ever bank, it also means that it's quite an old building, built before the aesthetic for banking became all reflective glass and plastic. This is a bank that looks like a bank; I bet you could film an amazing heist here. I've always had pleasant experiences with the staff here, although to be fair I've never asked them to do anything difficult. But they're friendly, and helpful in that scripted way that bank staff are trained to be. Actually going back to the building - it's got really high ceilings for a building with such a small footprint. And that's really nice.

Sometimes it is a decent wait in the line depending on the time of day, but I always feel this is worth it due to the high standard of service you receive and you never feel rushed; I always feel they are generally looking out for your best interests. When I got my first credit card, they set me up in a meeting and told me all of the features, benefits and pitfalls of owning a credit card, making me feel like they weren't just trying to get my interest money and were aware of my situation as a financially struggling student. This has been my family's bank for years and we're definitely not planning on leaving any time soon.
