What an amazing experience we had with Asal. She did an incredible job with all makeup and hair for me, my mom, and my mother-in-law. I have never heard my mom say that she felt gorgeous, but even two weeks after our wedding, she can't stop raving about how the makeup and hair made her feel. And I am still getting compliments about how great she was to work with from everyone I've spoken with. Like many other brides recently, we were engaged for nearly three years and made three separate wedding plans with two postponements due to COVID. Finding new vendors was no easy feat when we had to move our wedding from Vermont to DC, and I am so glad we chose Asal to work with. Throughout the process, Asal was professional and listened to each person's preferences. I would hire her again in a heartbeat, and can say for certain that if you choose Asal as your vendor you will be blown away. read more

Asal was great from the very beginning. I appreciated her taking the time for the consultation to find out what I was looking for. I shared with her previous bad experiences I'd had with make up artists not knowing how to deal with my skin tone and she assured me we would be able avoid this. She has experience working with all types of people and skin tones and we would be able to perfect my look at the trial. Asal was super responsive and would always get back to any questions or comments I had within a timely manner. My trial was done in time for my bridal shower, and even though I wasn't quite sure about some parts, Asal knew what would look good and encouraged me to give it some time to sink in so I'd have a better gauge about how I felt about it (I generally don't wear too much makeup on a day to day basis). She made me look and feel beautiful without making it look like I was wearing a ton of makeup. I was getting compliments all day on my hair and makeup. I tried an updo that morning and it did not budge all day until I took it out in the evening. Skip forward to the wedding day. In addition to me, Asal did hair and makeup for my mother and best friend. She listened to what they had in mind and brought out their natural beauty. Neither my mom nor my best friend wear a lot of makeup and Asal did a great job doing natural looks for them. I had a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony in the morning, for which she gave me an updo. I wore a headdress and so she planned my hair around being able to work with that, no problem. As for makeup, I had an unfortunate accident the day before the wedding that resulted in some mild bruising on my face that started to appear the day of. Asal was not fazed at all and made it disappear, like magic, with it still feeling seamless with the rest of my makeup. No one could have guessed anything was out of the ordinary. She stayed the extra time for me to have a change in hairstyle (updo to half down) and do a makeup touch up. I had brought a hair accessory that she incorporated beautifully. My makeup and hair were flawless all day (aside from some tears welling in my eyes that Asal took care of during the touch up). I could not have asked for a better person for the job. I am so glad I found Asal and am so happy with how everything turned out. I will be going to her for any of my future makeup/hair needs. I cannot recommend her more highly! Thank you so much Asal! read more

Asal is like the meaning behind her her name. She is as close to perfection you can get and will not be disappointed which is transparent in her work! Imagine, it was just one week away from my wedding and my mother and I didn't have our hair and makeup booked, any other bride would have freaked out. Asal was highly recommended by where I do facials (Nilou Spa), the combination of prepping my skin and Asal's art made me feel like a bride, I am extremely grateful that we all crossed paths! I went to Asal for my hair and makeup trial one week before my wedding; she worked with my mom and I to create the look we envisioned and was very accommodating making minor changes after for our wedding. I had her do both airbrush (trial) and foundation (wedding), both lasted all night. I highly recommend future brides to do their first and hopefully only trial with Asal for both bridal hair and makeup. Further, bridal hair and makeup trials are very important and a must, as they set the tone, and is a chance for brides and their artist to be acquainted and comfortable with one another. I really appreciate her passion and dedication following up after both the my trial and our wedding, that meant a lot. On the day of our wedding, she arrived at our hotel on time and waited patiently despite a no show from our rental company which pushed back things. She was an extremely calming presence and took time perfecting every detail. Everyone complimented me on how beautiful I looked and l was the happiest bride ever smiling all night. Also, I will never forget the look of my husband when he saw me walk down the isle, he could not stop smiling and take his eyes off me! Our hair and makeup lasted all night through the tears, rain, multiple ceremonies, and nonstop dancing without any touch ups. Not to mention beautiful photos! She exceeded our expectations and a genuinely wonderful person. We will book all future events with Asal, and she is just AMAZING! read more

Asal is simply the best! I worked with Asal for my engagement shoot and my wedding day for both hair and make up and I truly love her. She worked with my large bridal party and was so accommodating to everyone. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt beautiful (from my 16 year old sister, to my 80 year old grandmother). All of my friends and family were raving about her for weeks and weeks after the wedding! I definitely recommend Asal Studios to anyone that is looking for their wedding hair and make up artist, but honestly she is just wonderful for any occasion at all. I will definitely go to Asal for any milestones in the future as well. Thank you so much, Asal! You're the best! read more

Ok, don't hesitate, book Asal right now for your wedding! I have no words for how spectacular Asal was from start to finish. She was the first wedding vendor I booked after I saw her incredible Instagram (@asalstudios - check out the before & afters!). She is a magician with hair and makeup and truly takes the time to listen and create the look you want. From the hair & makeup trial through the wedding day, she made the whole process stress-free and lovely. My bridesmaids and mom raved about their hair and makeup, and her! She was exceptionally communicative, on-time, fun, and just an all around pleasure to be around. She also took the time to take incredible pictures of my before and after looks and my bridal party and family getting ready in our suite, including posting an amazing reel of our getting ready time, and I'm so grateful to have these shots before we receive our official wedding photos! Asal puts so much extra care into everything she does and I will be recommending her to everyone I know! read more

I am so grateful to Asal for helping make me feel absolutely beautiful on my big day! Not only was she friendly, polite, and accommodating from day one, but she went above and beyond by traveling quite a distance to be able to do our hair and makeup on site. She even got a hotel room the night before so she could do a very early (4:45am!!) start time! She was so fun and we loved having her and her assistant with us the morning of the wedding. My bridesmaids all felt beautiful, and my mom LOVED her hair and makeup. I was told by several of my girls (who are all veteran brides and bridesmaids) that this hair and makeup was the best they've ever had done. My mom--who isn't a big makeup person loved her makeup and felt herself. Those in my party who opted out of hair and makeup (including a cosmetologists) all said they wished they had gotten it done because everyone looked so good. I can not recommend them enough, they were so so wonderful! Definitely worth the cost. You get what you pay for! read more

Asal did my hair & makeup as well as the makeup of my 5 bridesmaids, my mom, and mother in law and she did an incredible job! She was so helpful during this process as she could sense my hesitation with getting so done up. She brought an associate with her who helped do everyone's hair, and she was amazing! My makeup looked flawless and my hair stayed curled all night. She's one of the most reasonably priced in the area but definitely incredibly talented. I am so glad that I chose Asal for my wedding. read more

Asal was amazing- we had to cancel our original wedding due to COVID and had a small, family-only ceremony in DC. Asal did hair and make-up for me and my bridesmaids and we were all blown away by Asal's services! She played a major role in making my dream wedding become a reality!! read more

I used Asal for bridal services on the day of my wedding and for eyebrow shaping leading up to the big day. She did an amazing job bringing the vision for my bridal hair and make up to life, including making sure the extensions and headband I wanted to wear were perfectly fit and a natural extension of my overall look. It is SO hard to find make up artists who can do a glam look for middle eastern features. I was so happy to use Asal for my own hair and make up and for the make up of my bridesmaids and mothers. She also did an incredible job with my eyebrow shaping before and is very patient with her clients, making sure she provides the highest quality of services. Asal knows what she is doing and I would recommend her to any friend. I plan to continue using Asal's services for other events in the future. read more

Words cannot describe how happy I was with Asal's services for all events of my wedding!! She first did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos, as I am very picky and wanted to see how she did. She blew me away with the airbrush makeup, and was able to easily work with my clip in extensions. For my wedding, she did a phenomenal job on my hair and make up as well as my bridesmaids my mother-in-law and my mom. My sister, who has never liked her make up done professionally, raved and raved about how Asal is the only one who could make her feel beautiful. Asal is punctual, professional and extremely courteous of what you ask of her. Her studio is clean and nice and she is also so much fun to chat with! I will be using Asal's services for all future events and photo shoots I have coming up. She even recommended a lash formula to help my eyelashes grow in preparation for the big day. I couldn't have gotten married without Asal! read more

Asal was wonderful to work with. She did my hair and makeup as the bride, 6 bridesmaids, and my mother for my wedding day. Everyone loved their hair and makeup which was amazing because they are all so picky! I went with airbrush makeup and we had a slight problem with it not drying on my nose properly. Asal was able to quickly redo the makeup on my nose without the airbrush finish and still blend it perfectly with the rest of my face that was airbrushed which was a huge relief. My hair also stayed perfectly curled all day and night which never happens! I would highly recommend Asal for hair and makeup for your wedding day. She is very professional and has a real talent for hair and makeup. read more

Asal did a great job with my hair and makeup she is super nice and conservative.. definitely recommend her

Asal did my hair and makeup for my wedding, along with my 5 bridesmaids' hair. She was wonderful! My bridesmaids were all very happy with their hair, and I was thrilled with my hair and makeup. I received so many compliments on both. Asal is great handling anything thrown her way too. We did a trial run and I thought I was happy with the way the makeup was, but I decided a couple days before the wedding that I wanted to go with a different look. The morning of the wedding I described what I was thinking, and Asal absolutely nailed it! She was great going with the flow and made me feel very relaxed, and is really nice. Definitely recommend her!! :) read more

Asal was truly amazing. She listened to exactly what I was looking for and paid close attention to the details. She did all the necessary steps to ensure my look was long-lasting, not too overdone, and still fresh-looking regardless of all the dancing and photos taken. I highly recommend Asal and her team! read more

Asal's work is unbelievably flawless! She did a great job with my makeup and hair in addition to her great personality, flexibility and she is really considerate. She was able to understand what I wanted for my makeup and hair and translate into a beautiful art. Asal did an outstanding job with my wedding hair and makeup. I had to make some changes to the arrangements due to COVID and reschedule the reception to December, but still went forward with the wedding ceremony in May as originally planned. I received many compliments on it! I'm looking forward to working with Asal again in December for my reception. I highly recommend Asal - you will not be disappointed! read more

Asal was truly a pleasure to work with. This past weekend she did wedding hair and makeup for me, five bridesmaids, my mom, my MIL, and my aunt. What really impressed me, and is a huge reason why I chose to work with her, is that she knew how to compliment everyone's different features and skin tones. She made every single one of us feel like queens and we all got so many compliments! I appreciate her so much for making me feel special and beautiful on such an important day, highly recommend! read more

I could not say enough great things about Asal! We planned a wedding in under a month and I contacted Asal the week of my wedding and luckily she was available! She did my hair, my daughters hair, and my moms make-up! Let me just say, my hair NEVER holds a curl. I have gotten it done many times before and never have I ended the night with my hair staying. Asal worked magic! My hair stayed perfectly all night even after hours of dancing and jumping around. She was such a pleasure to work with and I look forward to hiring her again for all my hair and makeup needs! read more

Asal is AMAZING! I live in Colorado but had my wedding in Virginia. Asal and I weren't able to coordinate our schedules for a trial so we both went into this blind. Despite not being able to have trial run, Asal did an amazing job with my hair and makeup. She listened to me and was able to execute exactly the look I was going for. On top of it all, she was easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable and calm on the morning of my wedding. I highly recommend her services! read more

Asal is amazing and I was so so happy that I chose her for my wedding hair and makeup. After reading *lots* of reviews for many different makeup artists/companies, I knew that Asal was who I wanted to go with. She is so incredibly talented and skilled for both hair AND makeup and captured exactly the look I wanted. She was even able to work into my hairstyle a special clip of my mom's that was very awkwardly shaped and I thought I wouldn't be able to use it -- but she knew exactly how to make it work and look fantastic! I don't wear a lot of makeup normally so I was hesitant about getting it done, but Asal knew just what to do to make me look amazing but not overdone. She also did hair for two of my bridesmaids and they were both very happy with it. I recommend Asal to all my friends getting married in the DMV because she is more than worth the investment. Also, considering the fact that your hair/make-up artist is going to be someone you spend quite a bit of time with on your wedding day, Asal is a lovely conversationalist with a calming presence who definitely helped me get off to a great start for a magical day! read more

Asal was absolutely fantastic. Asal did my hair and makeup for my wedding this past weekend. She also did makeup for 8 other women in our party and they looked absolutely gorgeous. I did a trial hair and makeup with Asal and was extremely pleased with her work. Asal is a true professional and willing to work with you...she was able to accommodate some changes from the trial. She listened to what I wanted and made it happen not only with me but all the women in our party. Our makeup stayed on flawlessly through the end of the night. There's no doubt that I would absolutely recommend her and use her services again! Thank you Asal. read more

Asal did a beautiful job on my hair and makeup, as well as my mom and my two sisters, for my wedding day. She listened to exactly what I wanted and her work came out even better than I had ever imagined. I received so many compliments and felt like a princess. I was so glad I hired Asal and her team of beauticians for my wedding day. She personally did my hair and makeup, and all the makeup of my bridal party while her assistant did the hair of all of the bridal party members. During my hair and makeup trial, Asal worked with me/my complexion/my style to find a look that worked for me and made me look natural. We tried out several different eye makeup styles and Asal was very patient with me through the entire process (even though I changed my mind about both my hair and makeup several times!!). A few days before the wedding, we had one additional person who decided to get their hair and makeup done Asal was easily able to accommodate for that extra person. She was not only a pleasure to work with, but she was so kind and so wonderful to be around. She is clearly a very skilled hair and makeup artist - the pictures speak for themselves. But what they don't show is how pleasant and easy she is to work with. I highly recommend hiring Asal for your wedding day - it was one of the best decisions I made! read more

I had Asal for my bridal makeup and hair, and I could not have been happier. She is a very talented artist, yet so humble. I first had a trial session with her, and I was very impressed with her work that day. I asked her for some last minute changes on the day of, and she easily accommodated my requests. After seeing the photos of my trial makeup, my mother decided to have Asal for her makeup and hair on my wedding day as well. She was very much satisfied too. I should note that Asal is very professional and personally very patient. My apartment was a bit hectic on my wedding day while she was working, yet she easily managed to keep herself and us focused so that we could be ready on time. She also has a calming attitude which is much appreciated on the wedding day. During the wedding, I received a lot of compliments about both my makeup and hair. Overall, I think Asal is a 5 star artist. read more
