BE WARNED, you may be expecting to pay less than you actually will. I paid more than 20% of what I was expecting prior to coming in.

The sushi was adequate, I have had better. This would be a 3-Star review but I have one complaint. The menu located at: http://www.asahirestaurant.us/speciall.htm listed different pricing for the "early bird specials" than was actually on the menu in the restaurant. I did not look at the other prices but BE WARNED, you may be expecting to pay less than you actually will. I paid more than 20% of what I was expecting prior to coming in. This is shady to me and I will not return to this restaurant, nor do I recommend it. I have posted pictures of the online menu vs. restaurant's presented menu.

I really don't enjoy writing bad reviews but this was the worst hibachi I've had in a very long time. The vegetables in the hibachi chicken (which is actually just teriyaki chicken) were burnt - black pieces of burnt food mixed in with the veggies. Not to mention the veggies were all cabbage and onions. No carrots, zucchini, mushrooms or anything you usually get in hibachi veggies... I asked for no teriyaki since that's not what I'm used to on my hibachi and regretted it since I ended up with a small portion of very bland chicken. We had takeout and received no white sauce on the side. The sushi was mostly just rice and had little flavor and we just threw it away after trying a piece of each roll. The salad I received with my "hibachi" dinner was the most laughable side salad I've ever seen. I could count the pieces of lettuce as the little container wasn't even half full.. sadly this was the worst and most overpriced meal I've ever paid for and we won't be back. Extra star since the restaurant looked nice inside and is in a good location.

Due to the openness of the dining room, it is on the louder side making it difficult to talk with folks not sitting directly next to order across from one another. Service was very good, attentive, and frirfriendly. My wife and I both had ceasar salad, filet medium rare, and strawberry topped cheesecake. For sides we had asparagus and mashed potatoes. The sides wete quite good, the best part of our meals. The salad was okay though the dressing was on the more bland side and fresh ground pepper helped its flavor profile quite a bit. For a restaurant calling itself a "chophouse" and supposedly upscale, you would think they would know how to cook a steak or use a better quality steak. Our filets were cooked to proper temperature but lacked any taste of salt or seasoning and lacked any searing on the outside. The meat was chewy rather than tender and made us wonder "what's so special about this place" where parking availability is also a challenge!? So you would think dessert would be hard to mess up, but our cheesecake was nothing special at all. We've had better tasting Sara Lee cheesecake from the supermarket; definitely below expectation. We'll consider giving it another try, but at their prices there are so many other tried and true steakhouse we much prefer.

The atmosphere isn't as stuffy or as formal like a steakhouse in the city (e.g., Buckhead), but it's still nice. Book your reservation using OpenTable and get dining points. There's a big dedicated parking lot around the building with plenty of free parking. No valet. We had a party of five and shared a lot of dishes. Here's what I had: Classic Cocktails * Dirty Martini ($15) - Hanson Original Vodka, Foro Dry Vermouth, olive juice, pimento olives Appetizers * Oysters on the Half Shell (12 for $33) - cocktail sauce and horseradish; James River, Virginia Sides * White Cheddar Mac & Cheese ($9) * Hawaiian Roasted Brussels Sprouts ($11) - with smoked bacon and Parmesan cheese Signature Cuts * Cherokee Western Luau (14 oz steak, $54) - ribeye marinated for 48 hours in pineapple, soy and ginger, "a Cherokee favorite;" 1855 Black Angus Beef from Grand Island, NE House Specials * Black Jack Salmon ($34) - wood-grilled and basted with Jack Daniel's glaze and served with crusted mashed potatoes and EVOO broccolini Desserts * Bananas Foster ($12) - flambeed tableside We also got cheese bread to start (bread with melted cheese on top, with a creamy white sauce). Everything was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed everything, starting with the martini, which was well-made. The oysters were big, fresh, and tasty. The Cherokee Western Luau was recommended to me by our server. He was so convincing that my friend changed his order to get a Western Luau too. It was fantastic, perfectly cooked to medium rare. The salmon was terrific as well, nicely cooked, tender, and flavorful (another excellent choice as well). The Bananas Foster wasn't flambeed tableside as described on the menu, so that was disappointing. However, it still tasted good. Our server was Cason B and he was great. He made an excellent recommendation on the Western Luau and was just a nice guy overall. The hostess was friendly too and helped us take a picture in the lobby. Cherokee Chophouse used to be Cherokee Cattle Company. After COVID, it reopened as Cherokee Chophouse in November 2022. It's part of the Marietta Diner and Marietta Fish Market family.

Fives across the board…read more Casi Cielo is incredible. The space is warm and beautiful without trying too hard, and the crowd was hip and well dressed. Definitely a place to be seen and eat well. There's a parking garage but it was full when we got there, so we did valet, which was surprisingly affordable. Service was wonderful. Our server was attentive, helpful, and super knowledgeable about the menu. As for the food, we got: Aguachile de Pescado, which was insane. Super fresh, bright, citrusy, ceviche-like with perfect texture. I would go back just for that. The Hamachi was clean and bright. That avocado sauce tied everything together and gave it some depth without overpowering the fish. The Pork Belly Tostadas were crispy and rich with that smooth avocado mousse and sweet mango salsa balancing it out perfectly. Finally, the bone marrow with steak... so good. I had seen pictures of it before I came and it did not disappoint. The steak was incredibly tender. They bring blue corn tortillas and suggest making a taco with the marrow, steak, and avocado. It's great that way. But honestly, the marrow and steak stand perfectly on their own. Whole experience was excellent. Easily one of my favorite spots in the city now.

Wanted to love it…read more The vibes are there, the staff is genuinely lovely, and there's real potential here, we just had a bit of an adventure getting through the meal. We had someone in our party with a gluten allergy, and our sweet server was doing his absolute best, bless. We were steered away from the tostadas as a starter due to gluten concerns, so we pivoted to guac...which then arrived with a gluten-free tostada. So the tostadas would have been totally fine! Then a good while after we'd all ordered, she was told her entrée had gluten and needed to be changed. She reordered, and almost immediately, the rest of the table's food came out. So we were left choosing between eating without her or letting everything go cold. And the plantains she'd reordered around, because she'd been told they couldn't be made gluten-free? Turns out they absolutely can be. Just miss after miss there. The spicy margarita was more of a margarita that once passed a jalapeño on the street. I asked for extra jalapeño juice and they were happy to help, but without the seeds and ribs it just couldn't deliver on the heat. I'd skip the margs next visit. This just wasn't quite the relaxed easy dinner we'd hoped for, and the price point feels like it's a step ahead of where the experience currently lands. But I'm rooting for them to get there!

As a dog owner myself that is something I'd like to know but I understand the hesitation when you're sitting and eating next to a dog. However, doesn't take away from the cleanliness or the service of the restaurant. We ordered the Mezze trio as an appetizer. Everyone loved the hummus however my favorite was the red beet root. I also loved that they can refill the pita bread which went by quickly. Most of the table ordered the lamb skewers which I thought was a good. I'd give it an 8/10. I thought the flavors paired nicely and it was a different taste than the skewers I've ordered before. My brother ordered the salmon and he really enjoyed that. The service was nice however it did take at least 45 minutes for us to get our food which was a bummer. Definitely could see this being a nice, chill lunch or dinner spot.
