We recently hired Annette to run an estate sale for us because we are moving and downsizing. Annette and her whole team were great from start to finish. She worked hard with her team the week of the sale getting the house set up and items priced. She did a wonderful job and we were able to sell almost all of our furniture and many other items as well. The whole process was easy from start to finish and Annette was very responsive to texts and calls if we had questions. She does great job with advertising as we had people waiting outside our house at 7:30 am for a 9:00 am start time, and it was busy all day. She was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of estate sales services. read more

Annette and her staff are wonderful. I found a perfect Knoll Saarinen Dining Table and a pair of Bertoia chairs there. Also in great condition. They are supportive and patient while you shop. Annette has a great eye. I encourage everyone to stop by. read more

Annette and her crew do a wonderful job running Estate Sales. We hired her to help with the contents of my mother's house after her passing and Annette made the process so easy and respectful for us. I was even able to sell a car for more than I would have gotten at a dealership. The best part is that she has such a following and experience running these sales that we have very little left in the house to deal with. I highly recommend them they really know what they are doing. I also suggest checking out their store in Cushing Sq in Belmont, there are many treasures there and some fun jewelry too. read more

Another amazing estate sale by As Time Goes By! We bought an amazing clock and bureau. Annette and Paula were awesome. My husband and I are looking forward to seeing you more often as we just moved to Newton. I would be more than happy to spend money at estate sales handled by you --- you price fairly and always have great things. read more

As Tyme Goes by - Antiques Near Me - Belmont, Massachusetts

This guy is really rude! I just stopped in to see if the shop consigned merchandise or would be interested in buying some jewelry and two paintings; one oil on canvas from the Hudson River School era, the other a mid-century ink and water color. The estimated worth of the paintings alone is around $8,000. I had them in the car and wanted to have him take a look at them and get his advice. My friend stayed with the car and I walked in to find the guy quite involved in conversation with two women at the counter. He did not look up or say hello, so I quickly looked at the paintings he had on the wall (he advertises that he buys paintings and jewelry). I am not as familiar with jewelry as I am art work, but he had a lot of jewelry on display in the shop so I felt comfortable that he would have a good sense/appreciation for what I had in the car. He also had some jewelry on display sitting on furniture by the front entrance, so I walked to the entrance to take a look at it, and the window display. Apparently, he thought I was leaving the store and screamed at the top of his lungs, "YOU'RE WELCOME!" I was so shocked, I stopped to see the expression on the women's faces at the counter. I had no idea he was even aware I was in there, because he never even looked up or spoke to me when I walked in. After I gathered my thoughts at his stupid assumption and ignorant business sense, I walked out. We laughed the whole way home. This guy is a classic example of a disturbed and bitter individual who feels he can abuse fellow humans by spewing bile at them while he "runs a business". If you're into abuse and humiliation, stop by and tell this old goat I referred ya! :) ha ha read more

Hands down the best antiques shop around! Lovely people, great finds, reasonable prices. I live on the north shore where there are loads of antiques for sale right next door in Essex, but I drive here when I want something special. read more

Annette is wonderful. Her sales team is great.Great selection and fair prices. Ienjoy stopping by the store when ever I get a chance.

I have had extensive experience in the antiques business, and have know the propriatrix and her FATHER who has often minded the shop, for some years. He was(His funeral is tomorrow) a kind and interested, interesting man, who always had time to chat with me, and others, and always asked how I was doing, and how the business was doing. The shop has afforded me many wonderful items , over the years. The owner is fair in pricing, and in buying from others, and has a good business sense. Everyone has bad days, and sometimes, in cases of failing health, unfortunate misunderstandings occur. Perhaps it is best not to judge by one experience/. read more

Wow Alice L. from Medford I am beginning to question the validity of your post. To come back over a year later and write another review about the same visit makes me think you are trying to harm the business. Are you perhaps a competitor who has a grudge against the store? I don't understand how a year later you still harbor such hate and disgust with a man who may have been having a bad day? And to say you are afraid to enter the store is bizarre. Life is too short to walk around with such bitterness. I still LOVE this store and find the elderly gentleman to be interesting, colorful and an extrodinary raconteur. Give him 5 minutes and your life will be richer - And you will definitely walk away with an amazing antique at the best best price in town! read more

I had pulled my original review because I received some judgmental comments and accusations of being a competitor of the business. But I have since re-evaluated, and I think it's important for my experience to be out there.  For the record, I have no affiliations to anything in the antiquing business. I'm just someone passing by who happened to walk in. Here's a recap of my original review: I just went into the store to browse and noticed some tea cups that I liked.  I picked one of them out and brought it up to the counter to an elderly man working there.  I noticed a small imperfection, so I just wanted to know if it could be removed or if it was permanent.  I was not rude at all about this, but immediately the man became furious and said that he "hated people like me" and shooed me out saying "get out of my store!"  I even asked him what I had done and he just kept telling me to leave the store. I was in utter shock.  I have never seen a business operated in this way. I walk by the store regularly because I go to other stores in the area, but I will never be going into this place again. read more

I love this store....Nannette is a wealth of knowledge and fills her store with one-of-a-kind items. Her prices are reasonable and/or lower than your average shop. On that note, if you see something you like, buy it...because it will be gone within a day or two. I love visiting with Nanette's Dad...he is a real charmer and makes my visits to the store extra special! read more

This store continues to make me happy! Love just walking in and being surprised by what I might find. Such an interesting selection!

A great family run store with some awesome things . The shop owner is a smart lady that knows her stuff .

I absolutely love this store, the owner, and her dad who is a wonderful person with great taste. He will give you an honest opinion on anything from art to jewelry to furniture. Have been going there to browse and buy for years and years. Wonderful merchandise and always very fair prices. It is a great opportunity to find quality antiques and excellent reproductions, art and beautiful jewelry. Most of our furniture came from this store and I have sent many people there who have been very satisfied repeat customers. read more

I have read some earlier reviews that were critical of this establishment and in particular the older gentleman who minds the store for the owner, his daughter. Some people have called him rude, gruff and a reason to stay away from the shop. Quite honestly, Phil is an acquired taste but you have to accept that he is over 90 years of age, has typical infirmities that we associate with age such as failing hearing, vision and walking. But, if you take the time to listen and engage him you will be rewarded not only with terrific stories of his life including his role in the 82nd Airborne and D-Day but others, as well. His daughter runs estate sales, brings items to Brimfield every year and sets very reasonable prices on the things she offers to her clientele in this shop. Walking in unannounced with a supposed $8,000 painting seems both foolhardy and fishy. Request an appointment, ask for the owner/appraiser. And being put off by someone in his 90s...well I'm thankful I'm not your father. Go in, browse, shop and be open to a new experience. And best of all get wonderful pieces at reasonable prices. read more
