DO NOT RECOMMEND! VERY DISHONEST AND SLOPPY…read more This company was hired as a contractor from a solar company to remove some trees from my property. Not only did they cause damage to my property but to my neighbor's property as well; they accessed my neighbor's side lawn and driveway without their permission nor mine and scraped their driveway, ripped a large hole in my neighbor's table cover and caused a huge hole in the ground on my neighbor's side lawn. They offered no restitution to fix my damaged lawn that was caused by their trucks and other large vehicles; they did not even consider the idea of bringing large wooden boards to cover the lawn if any of their vehicles had to be parked on it or drive across it. The damage they caused to my neighbor's property took over 2 months to partially resolve, which ended up only covering the cost of replacing the table cover and nothing else. I am supremely disappointed in their lack of work ethic, poor communication, responsibility and morals. Their services were wildly expensive compared to other landscapers/tree removal companies and now I'm stuck paying for their work indirectly. Although they were able to remove the necessary trees, they caused long term damage to my lawn, damage to my neighbor's property AND left A LOT of debris across my lawn that I'm still cleaning up, 2 months later. They were also unwilling to work with the BBB to resolve these issues. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY!

He had very smart ideas on how to best develop our space and he guided his team in expertly fulfilling our vision. Joe promised, and Joe delivered…read more When my wife and I moved out of Brooklyn and bought our home in East Brunswick, we fell in love with all the landscaping the previous owners meticulously put in. Our property felt like a botanical garden, far exceeding the standard run-of-the-mill landscaping jobs you see in most neighborhoods. What I didn't realize at the time was how completely unprepared I was to maintain this level of landscaping. Even after renewing the previous owners' contract with Broehl's (the local gold standard for lawn care and maintenance) there was still too much to do. Unfortunately, I have a black thumb for this kind of thing, and there's only so many checks I can afford to write to try and keep things looking good. So for the past few years my wife and I have actually invested money in scaling *back* some of the landscaping; essentially ripping out and replacing some of the more complicated beds that have steadily been beat on over the last few brutal winters and didn't look good any more. When we met with Joe, we were clear that we wanted nice-looking beds, but nothing that would be over-the-top difficult to care for and maintain. And we wanted clear sight lines down our front yard so we could see our kids playing in the street. The overall amount of work we need to do to get our property where we really want it is pretty staggering, so Joe discussed a phased plan that would allow us to get started without breaking the bank. Long story short, he and his crew ripped out the mess of bushes and plants and undergrowth that marked the front and center portion of our lawn. He designed a simple, but elegant bed that he said would look great but wouldn't be impossible to maintain. He took photos of our property in advance, and then simulated his recommended design over the photos via computer, allowing us to "see" what it would look like before we'd have to commit. As you can see from the photos, Joe and his crew did a great job. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the work. We get a ton of compliments on the before and after. (Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the before, but trust me -- this was a huge leap forward.) Truth be told, you're really at a disadvantage if you cannot do at least some of your own landscaping. Professional landscaping is expensive -- plain and simple. And frankly, I hate paying for it. But as I said in my previous review, Joe is a no-nonsense, honest businessman. If, as the saying goes, a man is only as good as his word, Joe is a good man. He and his crew are completely professional and do great work at a very competitive price. Just look at the photos and see the work for yourself. And feel free to message me if you have any questions or want to learn more.

Everyone has different perspectives and I would never want to hurt a business based on my feelings or praise a businesses for operating appropriately because that's what they are expected to do, that's the service we pay for. Business owners should take pride in their work and the services provided. I'll let their work speak for itself (see pictures). They are a nice family but nice doesn't get the job done and I can't do anything with apologies every week especially while they have my riding tracker in exchange for their services. I did that for them so they could help the community. There is a constant lack of; communication, consideration, scheduling, and the quality of service is highly neglected. As a last attempt, I was promised they would be here this morning (Monday 7/14) to make it right. It's 12 PM while composing this msg. The last grass cutting was on 6/20, the last communication was on 7/11. I tried giving one last chance before writing this review but I am done waiting and will no longer recommend them due to everything transpiring. It should not be this difficult especially for service already agreed upon and paid for.

Everyone was super friendly, responsive, and professional. My husband described the crew as working as if they were working on their own yard because they were taking such care. We will be using this service now on an ongoing basis, for weekly mowing, seasonal clean-up, pruning, etc., and for whatever else comes up! We live on a decent size lot, an acre, and the yard and beds, shrubs, etc., had not been maintained for a long time, prior owner made some bad selections, etc. So, this was a big job. Removed 10 ENORMOUS shrubs, installed dozens of new plants/trees, huge spring clean up, installed 21 cubic yards of mulch, weed preventative, created overall landscape design, relocated some existing shrubs, used existing field stones to create perimeter for beds. Plus, willing to go extra mile to do extras that I did not expect, like removing tree limbs that needed removal either because of pre-existing damage or for health of tree. Update: the original review was written about 18 months ago. We continue to use Princeton Lawn and Landscapes for all our lawn and landscape needs. We continue to be very happy and highly recommend them to everyone! Tom continues to go above and beyond to make sure we are happy with any of the work his team does for us.

I truly wish that Yelp allowed zero Stars. Here is my…read moreunfortunate experience with the owner, "Joe"... Thursday, June 4th, I called and made a delivery order for 2 yards of black mulch and two yards or top soil. This delivery was going to an elder couple that I was doing some landscaping work for (not my own home)). The delivery was scheduled for 9am on Sunday, June 7th. I went to their house at 8:45am to lay tarps and wait for the delivery to be able to pay the guys. At 9:21am, I made the first phone call to Joe- and the answer I got was, "I've waited 4-5 hours for a delivery before,, the delivery guy is out on the road, he will be there". At 9:53am, I called for a second time, just get an update, considering it's been a half hour for a 3 mile drive. Joe proceeds to tell me that my order ticket was for 10am, not 9am and that the driver was on the road headed my way. Oddly, he never asked for an address, or anything. Fast forward another 45 minutes. I chose to make the 3 mile drive to Crossroads Nursery. Talked to a young guy on a loader who said that when the next drive gets back, they will driver it right away. That was at 10:45ish. I walked into the main nursery to pay for the delivery since I no longer was able to wait for the delivery. I went to hand, Mr. Attitude aka Joe, the owner, a check and he just looked at me and said, "what do you want me to do with this?" "Well, I would like to pay for the delivery that hasn't arrived yet, as I cannot wait any longer". "Oh your the bad attitude lady on the phone". Listen, I was annoyed at the situation but Joe tells me he just got off the phone with the driver but when I ask for an ETA, he says that he may have stopped for gas, or food or even maybe broke down. Then he hung up on me. As for my check, he threw it back at me in front of oof her customers and said..."the nerve of some people", "you're mad bc your delivery is 30 mins late", "it's not my fault that you never made an order ticket". So after alllllll of this, bottomline is that when I spoke to the owner on Thursday, he never made the ticket and I was never getting a delivery. I will NEVER use this place again. I will be happy to turn people away from this place. I am embarrassed that this guy owns a business, especially I in the same town that I live. I have seen that this is not the first complaint about Joe-the owner, being rude, abrasive, combative and just downright absurdly nasty.
