This food was crazy amazing X,X Such tender kabobs! they were perfectly done. I didn't find it very spicy, but my mom was sweating lol. They have this amazing peanut chunky paste like hot sauce side dish which was really sneakily spicy lol but i adapted and spread that on everything lol
Tried the chicken korma, which was so awesome xp very tender chicken pieces on the bone with veggies, and amazing hand made noodles on the bottom. Was a humungus dish too which is good for us cause we were a group of 5 people.
Also ordered the hot pot which was not part of their culture. We've had all you can eat hot pot in china town, and this was basically the same except with less exotic options to add in, tasted about the same though, but what I liked about it is because it's not "all you can eat", you can actually take left overs home with you, and the broth was so good XD one side super spicy and other side not. Was good to feed about 3-4 people alone if you don't buy more raw add ons, so we ordered other stuff which was more from their country. I wouldn't order the hot pot for one big group again though because it was uncomfortable for me to sit in the middle while people next to me reached over to serve themselves, so it's better to order multiple ones like they suggested.
They're Samsas were really good too. Basically wrapped thick bread with tender lamb inside mixed with cabbage i think. They had given us some kind of fried curled crispy doh as a complimentary apitizer, which was really good, and would have made an awesome desert if it was sweet or had icing too.
The giant art posters on their walls were very interesting, I thought it was mongolian, but it's not. Apparently they're Turkistan, which I can't find on the map. They explained it use to be part of Turkey before it divided up and China took over their region. I would love it if they put more info of their culture because it's interesting to learn about, and my mom says they make their kabob meats "legit" from the old Turkish days with the paste, "fle fle", etc. The inside of the shop was small and decorated with that cheesy silk chairs style, but at least everything was very clean, including the bathrooms. Fluent french and english.
Took us about 20 min to drive over from west-island, but I'd totally love to come back! read more
