We found free street parking next to the restaurant because it was late evening. We ordered the "Special for 4" that seemed very reasonably priced. We do not eat beef and one of us does not eat any meat. We asked them if they would replace the beef dishes in the special by chicken and vegetarian items and they gladly agreed to do that. A lot of food came (we had that for dinner that evening and also brunch the next day--see the photos) and they were very tasty and flavorful. We would gladly go back there again.

Ambiance: it sure definitely changed since I was here the last time! It's more busier and way more people and much more busier from my last visit which I'm very happy to see. I'm glad people enjoy it as much as I do .. that way I know they won't be gone and I can come back as often as I can to enjoy their AMAZING AND DEEELICIOUS AUTHENTIC aghan cuisine. Service: always consistent and superb service. The people behind the counter are super friendly and care to give their utmost best service! They are now running around with over 5-10 people in the kitchen as it's quite busy and they have many people working to get their food orders up.. fairly quick and quality is always there! Food: It was THE MOST DELICIOUS meal I had in a while! We ordered many different meals as we both didn't want to cook tonight and felt like trying something different. I am obsessed with their Mantoo .. it's these savoury beef dumplings with an amazing sauce to die for it was Deeelicious. We tried their chicken soup for the first timee and boy was it bursting of flavour. I definitely recommend it when you come try the place out. The Lamb shank wow I wish there was more lamb as it was cooked so perfect.. it literally fell off the bone and it was amazingly tender.. left a mouth watering flavour in my mouth!!! Their rice , lamb, eggplant dish and everything probably on their menu is so rich in flavour I bet anything you try will leave a mark in your mouth!!! Ahaha It's unique , authentic and really worth the price. It is pricey but common its so worth it and it's not as if you have to dish out over 500$ .. You can easily leave full with just 2 entrees their portions are Huge and generous. Overall, my husband was really impressed when He tried it and we will definitely be back for more as the quality, service and food was A1 !! I definitely recommend this place for Real authentic Afghan cuisine .. you won't be disappointed!!! Cheers

Having been recommended the place by some friends, we decided to try it out. The interior is clean…read moreand minimal with a lovely raised intimate cushion-seating area on the side (great for groups). We ordered the Samosa Chaat to share as starters which was plenty and probably the best we have had in Montreal. For our mains, we had the Lamb Karahi (the most popular dish as mentioned by the waitress) and Chicken Jalfrezi. The chicken jalfrezi was delicious and a good portion. However, having tried many a Lamb Karahi, I was not impressed with the quality of the meat and the taste. The pieces of lamb were large and mainly fat/bones - not what you would expect of a traditional lamb karahi. On the plus side, the Naan bread was perfect and always came fresh and hot so that was great. Prices are reasonable and the location is quite convenient (there is some parking directly in front of the restaurant). Overall, good experience and will most probably return but will not be ordering the Lamb Karahi this time.

We ordered 1/2 Kg Mutton Karahi, 1/2 Kg Chicken Karahi, Palak Paneer, Chicken Seekh Kebab, Fish Pakoras and Chai. Oddly enough for something that is their most popular item, the Mutton Karahi was average. It was mostly bones and almost no meat, definitely not half a kg and tasted alright. The Palak Paneer and Chicken Seekh Kebab were 100% reheated and tasted like food that had gone bad. The Chicken Karahi was excellent. Tasted fresh, flavourful and authentic. Fish pakoras were good and fresh. Tea was authentic Chai. The server was chirpy and very helpful. She was interactive and her excitement was contagious. Part of the reason this rating is three stars and not two is because of her! The restaurant was clean and comfortable. However for a place where the food is so Hit or Miss, I would not recommend it to others.

Fortunately, they just recently opened up their doors here in Laval and right on my daily commute path. I gotta say they did a good job attracting people from the outside of the restaurant with their chic decor and enough lighting to grab your attention. Specially with that big "Halal" neon sign in your face. I dunno, mixing religion with anything else is really not my thing plus stating the obvious like a peacock? I personally don't like that no matter what religion it is. Each to his own, keep your faith in your heart and to yourself please. Does the general public need these things shown off, flaunted and make the rest of us the none halal people feel alienated or welcomed in your establishment? Specially on businesses which their sole purpose is making money! My reaction: shaking my head..... then sticking with the main subject: Whatever, take my money. Where's the food? Back to the main topic. One word: Very good! I was hesitant between the Herath kebab and Mantou. Went with the first one only to test the quality/taste of the beef and chicken since both come on the same plate. Very nice choice. Good marinade, good taste and cotton soft meat all with a reasonable price and ample portion. I am definitely coming back here and trying their other awesome looking dishes. I have a feeling they're as good if not better than what I just had. The place is very clean, simple yet trendy, flavours of the east and west mixed well all over the place and then topped with good background Afghani music that matches the food cooked on charcoal you're consuming. Good job and wish them success at this difficult corner of this street. Lots of other businesses before them had come, tried and failed, many times that I've lost count. I'm bored seeing that kind of unpleasantness. Hope they'll stay here for a long time, prosper and become a permanent fixture. Good luck!

The complimentary Afghan flatbread they gave was different from naan/pita, a nice crispiness and airiness. It paired well with the three complimentary sauces they provided. The Soupe Mashaba was definitely the better soup out of the two, with a nice savory profile compared to the chicken noodle soup-esque flavor of the Soupe Maison. The Kabuli Palaw had a huge portion of succulent lamb shank and rice. The raisins worked surprisingly well in the rice. Likewise, the Ashak was also a large portion, had three different basmati rices, and many flavors that worked well together. Easily worth the price!

There is a policy that each person must get a meal dish, this doesn't include apps or salads so if you are planning to all share this is not for you. We got the 2 meals which includes soups, dish, and dessert which allowed us to try both soups and desserts. Of the dishes got the Chicken Kebab, Kabuli Palaw (lamb), Mantoo, and Kofta Chalaw (beef). The soup was pretty good coming in a small bowl. The Mashaba reminded of wedding soup and was the one I liked best. Each dish comes with a lot of rice and by a lot i mean a huge plate full. It was a lot of rice for supposedly one person with meat ratio being quite a bit less. My favorite had to be the Beef, the sauce of this was really good I was just eating the sauce and rice itself. The sauce on the Lamb was really good too but there was just a lot of bone. The Chicken was a little on the saltier side but a great dish. The Pasta was not a fan favorite, the vegetable flavor was a little strong and there was a lot of it. The workers were really patient with us even though we were taking a long time to order. For dessert they have us extra so each person could have some a which was so nice of them. We ended with some complimentary tea which washed everything down.
