We purchased a unit in 2021 to find out later that we were sold a unit that had been discontinued in 2020. The unit was loud and from 2023 to 2025 this discontinued unit has cost an extra $4500 with a maintenance plan. Replacement parts would take 4 wks to get in because the unit was discontinued and parts were not readily available. The ladies in the office were always most helpful and the technicians were always on time. When I asked why the parts took so long... it was never mentioned about the unit being discontinued. I asked the salesman for the best, quiet unit available because I want it to last the usual 10 - 15 years. Unfortunately that did not happen. Dishonesty. read more

Please do not use this company. My mother is 80 years old and I told her to call Arundel. They went to her house and wanted to charge her $4k for a correction that was under warranty. Then I called Powell and Turner and they said that Arundal had misaligned the flue and had she turned on the heat, the gas would have gone through the house. They said it was extremely dangerous to her. This company has yet to reimburse her for their error. I think they took advantage of her due to her age. Frightening! read more

He then asked for our permission to get started. It was our truly our lucky day, because the least expensive repair worked! Our AC stopped working on Thursday and I called three companies out to evaluate what's wrong and to provide a solution. Arundel Cooling & Heating was the only company that didn't recommend replacing the whole unit but instead suggested that replacing the motor would be all that's needed, so we decided to go with that solution. A technician came out on Monday and replaced the motor and it's been working fine since then. So glad we were able to save some money and got our unit working again! I have had the worst experience EVER! I live in a condo and hired this company to install my HVAC system. The installer arrived around 930 am on a Friday and left 12 hours later!!!! They claim they have experienced installers, I beg to differ. Even after 12 hours, the installer tells me that someone would need to come back and create a workaround for me to remove the air filter and connect the heating element. REALLY?! No one called me on the following Monday. So, I called that Wednesday asking when the work would be finished. It seemed nobody knew the work had not been completed! What's sad is...I sent a text message to the salesman the same night, the installer was at my condo telling me he couldn't get the system to work. The installer actually called a service tech to try and fix the problem. Moving forward, 2 1/2 weeks. My AC units keeps turning on and off about every 5-7 minutes (yes, I kept a log). I called this coming around 1pm and was told someone would come out. The service technician arrived around 5ish, checked the temperature in my condo and said I may need a new thermostat. Mind you, this guy did NOT check the compressor for leaks, nor try and replace the thermostat or identify a new location for the thermostat. I waited 4 hours for him to tell me someone will call me tomorrow. STEER CLEAR OF ARUNDEL HEATING & COOLING!!!!! They have the worst customer service I've seen in years! read more

We have been a customer for over 20 years and have contracts on both of our units. Over the years my overall experience with Arundel has been OK but, during our spring checkup it was noted that the AC capacitor in the older unit was "weak" and should be replaced. I was left speechless when I was quoted a price of 265.00 to replace the capacitor that the tech was holding in his hand and more than likely had the part in his truck. BTW I ordered a replacement from Amazon for 15.18 and will replace the capacitor myself. I would have expected the replacement cost to be around $50.00 for the part (their markup on the part) since the tech was here. This is giving me pause to consider my relationship with Arundel Cooling. read more

So...what can I say. As a first-time homeowner, my wife and I were a little hesitant about spending thousands upon thousands to replace our aging HVAC system. We had contacted several Carrier dealers in our area, but decided to go with Arundel Cooling & Heating in the end (competitively priced with great reviews/recommendations.) The sales person (Brian) was pretty helpful, informative, and not pushy like some of the other dealers we met with. Robb, and the rest of the install team, were extremely professional and courteous. I have had a heating issue for more than a year. First Arundel told me I needed a new thermostat for $800. They installed it. Didn't make a difference! Now they are telling me I need to double my heating element which would require I bump up my electric supply. That requires BGE to run another line to my house for a $10k fee then another $7K for a new electric box. I called another HVAC company for a second opition. I don't need to bump up my box! BGE doesn't have a $10K fee and the new heating unit I need is HALF the price Arundel quoted me. This actually is costing me $2500 instead of $19,000 from Arundel. Be careful of giving this company your credit card information. I paid an invoice at the time of services back in August. I received a notice from my credit card company that a charge had been made of $99 by Arundel Heating this week (Oct). I double checked the payment I made in August and it had cleared. Yet, they charged the same fee against a card I had given them a year ago for services they provided a year ago. Of course the charge went through immediately. I notified Arundel of their error and was told it was a "mistake" and they would immediately reverse the charge. Of course the reverse charge will take longer to process than their original "mistake." Also, after the service call in August I got a second quote for the same repair and was quoted nearly $200 cheaper than Arundel's quote. read more

WARNING!! Showed up after an hour when they said they'd be there in half hour. Shows up with the wrong part and of course says it's carrier's fault and to call carrier at 800-carrier. When I call carrier they say they are not even involved in the process and it's between arundel and their distributor. Now I have to take off work again for them to come out with the correct part. Asked the tech if he could just take a look at my other system to make sure it was working properly since he was there anyways. My A/C stopped blowing cool air over the weekend. I did some searches to see who to call, and I went to the Arundel Cooling and Heating website. I left my message and request for a service call on Monday. I got the call before they even opened. My appointment was set. Eddie arrived in the 5:00 hour. I told him what was going on, he asked a few diagnostic questions, and he was on it. I needed the capacitor replaced. He did it, he looked at my indoor unit, gave me some good tips, and that was that. So now I'm writing this in a cool house. Eddie was professional and conversational. The appointment was fast and easy, and the price was fine. When my heat pump needs replacing, (and I'm on borrowed time as it is), I'll get estimates from a few companies as a good consumer would, but Arundel Cooling and Hearing will have a leg up on the competition! read more

My husband and I began using Arundel during a remodel project last summer and have had their team out several times over the past year. In March our laundry room ceiling light stopped working and they replaced it...this past Sunday it "popped" and I couldn't get the circuit breaker to reset. For the $59 assessment fee the tech was able to locate a loose screw on the light switch (possibly related to the installation in March??) and proceeded to bill me $75 for the first 30 minutes of labor and $65 for the next 15 minutes - $199 total. This was the worst company I have ever dealt with. They quoted me one price, then on the day of the install when completing half of the job they made sure I had to pay for a part I wasn't supposed to need. After the weather change occurred the system would not heat my house. I called Arundel who sent a technician to my house, this technician wanted another $200.00 to install a thermostat that costs a grand total of $40.00. They would not extend any courtesy to me until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I'm not sure how this company measures good service but I can tell you my experience was awful. I called Arundel Cooling and Heating regarding a problem with my HVAC system on 11/22/14. They sent a repairman to my home whom was very friendly and informative. He said the fan motor was blown and I needed a new one it would cost me $500-$800.00 to replace. I said okay called someone else and they said their pricing is BOGUS!!! The part only cost 150.00 itself so 500-800.00 was RIDICULOUS!!! However BEFORE I found out this price was OUTRAGEOUS I originally had called them back to agree on the part so my HVAC could be serviced. I have two SMALL children and NO HEAT is a NO GO. I just received a phonecall from this company asking did I call regarding a part on 12/7/14. I WOULD HAVE BEEN WITHOUT HEAT FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS DEPENDING ON THEM!!!
