Lovely team for wedding day makeup & hair…read more Zoey & Sana were the hair and makeup artists that helped beautify myself, my bridesmaids and Mom / Mother In Law on my wedding day. They were very kind and professional and helped keep the morning on schedule. Sana did a beautiful job with the makeup for my Bridesmaids. And Zoey did gorgeous natural glam for me and also helped my more senior mom with her makeup (my mom has alopecia and Zoey gave her beautiful false lashes and natural looking eyebrows). *Important note: I didn't do a trial* For my hair, I asked for more beachy curls, and specifically not a super polished curled look. Zoey did a gorgeous half pinned detail in the back, but the curls were far too tight and didn't look like the images I shared. She assured me she'd adjust to make the curls more relaxed but we ran out of time so I ended up having to do some fixing myself to get the look I wanted. I think she wasn't expecting my hair to take curls so well! Ultimately I was a bit disappointed that the hair wasn't totally what I wanted, but since I didn't do a trial and there was no time left for adjustments to be made, I made peace with it. Still a great experience, and I recommend doing a trial. Great value, lovely ladies and overall beautiful glam done by this team!

We get makeovers 1-3 times a year from Nordstrom, Sephora and MAC....... But we've never been taught how to implement the techniques the artist as using. They might tell us what to do but it's in one ear, out the other. Ana's approach is a multi learning process. She tells you what to do and why, teaches you how to do it on someone, then she involves you in the process by having you try this technique for yourself. She's there to give guidance and feedback along the way. Classes are small and cozy (4 people). Ana has a warm, sweet personality and it was lovely to spend time with her. At the end of class you can purchase some items, but I felt zero pressure to do so (as there was no hard sales press AT ALL). Loved this so much, we will be back.

The class was informative, exciting, interesting and a lot of fun! The room is adorable, fits up to 14 people, I believe, and feels like you're hanging out at your friend's place. These classes would be perfect for a bachelorette party, birthday party or just a girls night out. SO doing this!! Ana is very professional, fun, warm, friendly and patient. She calmly explained everything we were doing and why. She answered questions thoroughly and when she didn't know the answer, she recommended where we could find the answer. She teaches you in a very quick and simple way. She really wants you to learn and is an extremely good teacher. Simple and effective techniques that make a huge difference! I am loving my new make-up style and cannot WAIT to do another class with her!

I was thrilled with the makeup and hair services that I received from Mink for my recent wedding…read more My makeup artist was Tracey, who went above and beyond to make sure that everything looked perfect! During the trial she was very detailed and took lots of time to make sure that I was happy with the final look, and on the wedding day the whole team that came (we had a large bridal party, and Mink will provide more assistants to the main artist to make sure that you finish on time) was fantastic. What was important for me too was that everyone had very good hygiene standards when doing our makeup, so nobody was worried about cold sores or breaking out from contaminated product. Everyone's hair and makeup held up and we were done very efficiently. Pictures turned out great!! I'd definitely recommend Mink to anyone looking for a mobile hair/makeup service for their wedding party.

I specifically wanted my hair blow-dried with a round brush for a smooth, polished finish. Instead, the stylist focused on creating curls, which I did not request. I was told the curls would last for three days, but they did not even last through the day. I also felt that the stylist struggled with the actual blow-drying technique and did not seem comfortable or confident working with my hair using a round brush. Unfortunately, once I got home, I also noticed that blue shampoo had been left around my ears, which was disappointing and something I would have expected to be checked before I left the salon. The stylist herself was very friendly, but overall, the service did not meet my expectations for a professional blowout, particularly given the price.

He's definitely let instagram fame smack him in the head. He doesn't listen to his clients, and only does what he thinks will be popular on instagram. I asked for the exact same colour that I got for the second visit because I thought he did a great job the first time with the colour, but it was completely different including the technique. He didn't listen to me at all the second time. I wanted a silver blonde and he went more with an ash - it was almost yellow which is what I absolutely didn't want. Sarmad also now has an assistant at the salon, who was extremely rough with my hair. She brushed out all the tangles so aggressively that the brush was filled with my hair immediately. This was after my hair had been bleached so I knew it was going to just break and rip. I don't know why she was doing that. She also helped with some of the bleaching and I think she actually took it out too early because Sarmad was rebleaching it after...of course, not acknowledging his mistake. Despite no Yelp reviews at the time, the website had some awesome pictures so I decided to contact Karin to arrange for a time. I e-mailed on Saturday morning - Karin got back to me that same morning for an appointment on Monday afternoon. I put my payment in through Paypal and was all set to go. Easy peasy. Karin's makeup studio is on the 2nd floor of a commercial building shared with another business. I was a little confused about where to go but once I was there it was all good. Her studio overlooks Jonathan Rogers park so other than the scenic view, there is a fantastic amount of natural light that brightens up the studio. I had my eyelashes done at a place nearby (Kinjou Lashes) so I did not do anything related with lashes. Karin asked me several questions related to my skin type, the jewellery I would wear with my outfit, and was open to any specific requests that I had. To be quite honest, I'm a make-up newbie so I left all the creative decisions to Karin and she did great! My make up session went by really quickly (approx. 1 hour) and Karin was quite personable and chatty - it was like doing make-up with an old friend. She uses high quality products - unfortunately I can't name them all but it included MAC, yaby, YSL (the touche eclat) and her makeup brushes were high-quality & soft. She was also nice enough to put together a mini touch up kit for my lips that I could use later in the evening after dinner (she thinks ahead!). Overall - it was quite fun & Karin was great. I got plenty of compliments about my make-up that day so the investment was totally worth it - perhaps I will go back for some make-up classes in the future!
