Soon after, I decided to remove my extensions and have since met with periodically for partial highlights/toner appointments. Jammie's work is consistently a 10/10 on multiple aspects. Her studio is always up to par with cleanliness standards. The ambiance is relaxing and inviting. Jammie doesn't rush getting to understand your hair vision. She goes through a step by step process and further explains how your hair will hold up in the next 6-8 weeks and how to properly care for your hair. I referred my mom to her since my hair was done so well! Unfortunately, my mom was disappointed with her service and didn't get what she wanted so she went and corrected the color at home herself. She is a former hairstylist. Either way, we highly regarded Jammie for her professionalism. I am now looking to do a root touch up & add highlights to lighten my hair so I planned to go back to Jammie again. I noticed that her website now requires full payment before you can book any service with her. I thought it was strange since just a few months ago, there was no down payment or anything to book a slot. I completely understand why a down payment could be required. Time is money and it should not be wasted...but to pay in full for a beauty service before the service has been completed is quite a turn off. The cost is no issue, I have just never heard of paying in full before a hair appointment or beauty appointment in general. My mom has been in the cosmetology industry for over 30 years and was also shocked that it wasn't just a down payment. This was my first time getting this treatment done and my hair is so silky and lightweight that every time I run my hands through my hair I want to cry out of happiness. Melanie is also very knowledgeable about the type of products that you need to avoid if you want your Brazilian blowout to last, and I had talked with a lot of different hair stylists who told me that I could use any shampoo and conditioner as long as they are sulfate free. The service I booked was a touch-up of my roots, but midway through, Delian asked if I wanted to add a blowout. I asked how much it would cost. It turns out she turned the $ 100+ appointment into a $ 360+ one and kept trying to sell me additional hair products without informing me of the price change. When I confronted her about the cost, she said she had changed the service type to better suit my hair and would remove the foil halfway since I didn't want to proceed. After washing my hair, I asked if she could quickly dry it because it was dripping wet, very cold outside, and I had just been sick, but she told me it would cost around $150. Did not even give me a towel to dry my hair, never apologized, and her approach turned rude once she realized I would not be leaving hundreds of dollars for a service she didn't inform me of.

When we were showing photos of how we wanted the makeup look to be, we repeatedly asked Lulu for less makeup because we didn't want any heavy foundation or contouring. It seemed like the makeup artist had "one mode". I walked by at one point and politely asked if we'd be able to tone down the makeup and the artist shockingly said "I don't like it when people get up in my space." The final look was then overly heavy and explicitly not what we had asked for / provided photos of. Overall, waste of money - we would have been better off doing the makeup ourselves, especially since they didn't listen to what we wanted & changed the atmosphere so materially.

I wasn't sure if extensions would do the trick, but May was so informative during my free consultation and recommended sewn-in beaded rows with 100% human hair genius wefts to help create a fuller look. She also recommended k tips for the front of my crown to add fullness to the thinner parts of my hair. Overall she did a fantastic job. She matched my hair so well when ordering the 100% human hair extensions that I didn't need any color adjustments, saving me time and money on future maintenance. I saw friends and family right after the install and they kept complimenting my hair. When I told them I got extensions they all said "I had no idea, they look so natural!" Throughout the whole process May was so respectful and thoughtful. She even sent me a form where I could let her know prior to the appointment how I would like the environment during the install. Questions like music taste, if I wanted to talk or relax in silence, and drink preferences. She made me feel very comfortable throughout the entire process. However, I waited about two months before writing this review because I wanted to give the perm time to settle, but unfortunately the result is not what I expected. I live out of state and only came during a weekend trip, so there was no way to remedy. I came in wanting a soft curl perm for some texture. She mentioned thinning hair, which is true, but could do it. After discussing we proceeded forward. Unfortunately the front was over-processed and the hair is extremely frizzy, stiff, and mimic an "electrocuted" texture. This was my first perm so unfortunately I'm also wasn't familiar enough to advocate for myself but looking back the perming solution was on longer than any other area of my hair and we used a smaller rod than the rest of the hair which I believe caused that area to be over processed.
