Truly very very disappointed in this company. My husband and I placed a significant order for a very large new kitchen countertop. Our Center Island is so large that we had to order two slabs...one for the island and one for the rest of the kitchen. We decided which one we wanted to be the center island. Of course the owner was lovely on the day he made the sale. They came to the house and measured and that was fine too.
The problems started when I got a call a few days later that they had cut the center Island the wrong way. They needed to cut out a sink and they put the sink in the wrong place so the entire slab was unusable for my purposes (though the slab is so large that I'm sure they were able to salvage most of it and sell it to someone else) So my choice was to cancel the entire order or to try to make it work with a different slab. I wanted to try to make it work so my husband and I went in and spent a very long time trying to make one of the other slabs work for my Center Island. All of the others had a discoloration in at least one area which is why we had not chosen them originally for our Center Island, but we managed to make it work.
At that time we spoke to the owner and told him we were expecting a significant reduction in the price because, really, we were no longer getting the piece that we really wanted. We did get a reduction but only after he sat there totally nickel and diming us and complaining that he was losing money from this as well. Respectfully, really not my problem.
I also asked him to take some of the remnants from what would be my slab and cut some rectangles that I could use as a trivet. Got robbed BLIND for that. But ok i said yes..
Things just continuef to get worse on the day that they came to install. First, they brought my Center Island inside. Then they brought in one of the other slabs. One of the other slabs had a very large piece chipped off the corner. My guess is that the chip happened while we were driving to my house. I understand that accidents happened but they all either genuinely didn't notice it which would be Troublesome or pretended they didn't notice it which would be even more Troublesome. So once again my choice was to tell them to leave or make it work. They had some kind of epoxy stuff in their trucks and used it to repair the corner enough that I agreed to live with it since it was going to be generally hidden.
But the problems continued.
They installed the Island, counters and two sinks
As soon as they left I noticed a scratch smack in the middle of the island. Additionally, that night after dinner I use my regular kitchen sponge, which I had been using for the past 20 years, to clean up dinner in the new sink. The owners had told me of course that it was a high quality 16 gauge sink. But my regular kitchen sponge completely took the finish off the bottom of the inside of the sink. Scratched it up completely. I called them to tell them about the scratched sink and the scratch on the island.
They came over and tried to buff out the scratches but to no avail. Once again we decided to live w the scratched island but I wanted a new sink. Either THIS sink is defective or the whole line is defective.
Initially they were responsive. Said they were working with the manufacturer. But at this point they have stopped responding to all of my messages. In other words, once they got my final payment, they no longer care about fixing the problem. So after spending nearly $7,000 at the store, I am left with a defective sink with scratches on the bottom, a large scratch in the center of the center Island that we didn't notice until after they finished their installation, a bandaid to fix a large bracket in the corner of another piece, and the center Island that wasn't even the original one that I wanted. I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever recommend this company to anyone ever. This is not how you deal with customers. read more
