It was after that when I noticed a few of my leaf guards were missing from a gutter in a location visible from a room not often visited. I made several calls to ask them back to replace the missing guards (with new ones I purchased) and ensure leaf guards weren't missing from other locations, one of which is the very high back gutter unreachable by me. I devided to borrow a friend's 32' ladder and do it myself after having received no response from the owner as requested on my third call. I found dozens of roofing nails on a newer section of roof that is part of an addition where shingles were not being replaced. I collected this cache of nails (in photo) which could be added to the tally of nails collected around the property post-install. This could explain the flat tire every driver of the three vehicles in the home experienced along with the flat tire on the riding mower! I was happy with the roofing job initially, but next to no satisfaction thereafter. If you hire them, inspect post-job well for damage and clean up before making your final payment to make sure they're not sloppy as they were at our home! I would expect the same poor, unresponsiveness otherwise.

Within 24 hours, I had a very thorough/detailed estimate for my new roof project. Between the other good reviews on yelp + the great first impression + the excellent quote, Queen City Roofing won my business. We went with them, and the final cost was $19,500. Both quotes had a 50-year warranty, and the only differences were that Vaillancourt put a 4' higher layer of the neoprene (I think) barrier, and they used Owens Corning shingles. Even though I do not know the names of name-brand shingles, I am 100% sure that Queen City Roofing also used an excellent brand, if for no other reason than they do not want to come back to do repairs. Anyway, those two little differences were not worth $15,000!! I also recommend using their recommended finance company as they were much easier to get what amounts to a high-dollar personal loan, than through my bank, for only 1% higher interest rate. Anyway, when they finally did the job, I was worried about how many nails would be left on the ground. Well, they did an incredible cleanup job. Based on the quotes I mentioned, you can imagine we have a very large roof, and so far, I have found 6 nails. They had 12 guys working that day, and did the whole roof in one day. They started at 7 a.m., and were done by 4:30! I cannot recommend them enough.

Since moving in, I have encountered numerous issues with the home that were neglected to be…read moreproperly addressed during the construction; including, life safety issues. One potentially life threatening issue was that there were live wires in the outside hvac electrical box that were not capped or connected. In addition, there were 10-12 other wires that were left uncapped at the main panel. This is a serious issue that potentially could have not only caused a fire but could have electrocuted my children or myself if I did not hire an electrician to inspect why the mini split did not work. The home was sold under the assumption that the mini split system was running; however, when I went to use it recently, it was not connected. According to my electrician, there are multiple electrical issues and he does not think an inspector would have signed off on this or that a permit was pulled. Another ongoing issue has been the plumbing. According to the plumber and a drain specialist that I hired, there are multiple issues with the plumbing that were not properly taken care of during construction. I have had serious drainage issues and have had to pay both of these contractors to remedy issues that were overlooked by your company and/or your subcontractors. Both agree that shortcuts were taken during construction and the plumber did not address the drainage piping correctly. Nobody can understand why a sewage grinder pump was installed for the downstairs bathroom when there is a gravity drain about six feet away. Most municipalities require gravity drainage to be used unless it is not possible. This may be part of the ongoing issue with the drainage. Plumbing was something that almost set back my closing date so it is apparent there was an issue that everyone knew about. In my "finished basement" I already have water and mold. This area is my bedroom. I am distraught over the lack attention and detail Mr. Donaldson so vehemently ignored. Mr. Donaldson agreed to come to my home to see the issues, had me wait all day and never showed. He scheduled a second time, and again was too busy. I am completely disheartened with his business and lack of etiquette when it comes to scheduling.
