We went a couple of weeks ago. Hubby had fish dinner. He was no impressed. I had spaghetti. Let me tell you, I never order spaghetti when I go out. Because what I make at home is sooo much better. However, I had been told theirs was really good. this spaghetti was perfectly cooked and topped with a meaty bolognese sauce. It was yummy! I cleaned my plate. In fact my husband asked if I was gonna lick my plate. Then we were asked to meet family there on 5/12/18. We weren't very hungry. Hubby ordered dessert. A lovely chocolate cake with chocolate cream inside. I had the flat bread pizza. It was horrible! I'm sorry to say, but it was. First of all, it was not made on flatbread. It was round, and I still can't figure out what the crust was made of. It was almost like a fruit pie crust, but really thin and greasy. Didn't notice any pizza sauce, but there may have been a little. Massive amount of cheese, and a few pieces of pepperoni. It was tasteless. DO NOT ORDER THIS ITEM. Haven't eaten here in a couple years. Got food poisoning on the previous visit. Had a mushroom appetizer and blue cheese burger. The sickness lasted 2 days, but the memory still remains... Wife and daughter ate there early last week and told me how good the food was, so I reluctantly broke down and went back. If the rest of the food is anywhere near as good as the Grilled salmon and broccoli I had Friday evening, I'll eat here about every time I eat out locally! Absolutely DELICIOUS! Both were seasoned and cooked perfectly! Broccoli was right on the money! Just tender enough to cut with a fork! Driving through town looking for a nice place to eat. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. Daughter devoured her Spaghetti, husband cleans his Chicken Fried Steak and I enjoyed my Santa Fe Quesadillas. We were a unique table, I went inside to place our order to eat outside, daughter was in the car outside "attending" her calculus class. Their outside dining was perfect. It will be better once they get their outdoor heaters. So glad we had the porch option. Our waitress was fantastic, kept a close eye on us even though we were outside. This place was so good when they were located in Highland and were a steakhouse/sports bar. Since they relocated, there are menu items they no longer serve and the service itself has gone down significantly. Recent trip, our drinks were served and then our server disappeared. After 20 minutes, we had to ask someone if we had a server or not. Server came out of kitchen looking like she had nothing to do. Had to be told to wait on us. Went there today, hoping for one of their featured Valentine's Day menu items. Was seated with regular menu and no mention of the Valentine's Day options. Once we got our drinks, our server ignored us and even though we could see her, we could not get her attention. We paid for our drinks and walked out, vowing not to return. This was at 3:30 PM; not crowded at all. Very disappointing. read more

First time trying this place and I must say I am quite disappointed. I myself got the catfish, large portion but didn't taste of catfish and hush puppies were burnt to hell. My mom had the burger and it definitely frozen and was merely a hockypuck between two pieces of bread. Beer was good though. We'll try again to support local. Wow just wow!! We live about an hour away and we have decided that Artisan Steakhouse is the place to dine when in the Spring River area. They have fantastic Food and Service is top notch. The Reuben sandwich is off the charts awesome with the Cajun fries. The Burgers are delicious. The Adult beverages are ice cold. The Steaks are great and the panko shrimp is remarkable. Buffalo Chicken sandwich is very good. And you gotta try the prime rib sandwich ... Wow. Ok I'm hungry now. We love this place. I saw a couple negative reviews on here. Keep in mind folks everyone has an off day from time to time. Give Artisan another chance and take your comments to the owners or managers. They need your input to make the correct changes. If you're looking for a quality meal, this is not the place. If you're looking for a meal as a quick stop off the highway, this is not the place. I stopped in this establishment hoping for a decent burger in a reasonable amount of time. My expectations weren't through the roof, just looking for a simple burger in 15-20 minutes or so, because I didn't really want fast food. At this point I grossly regret my decision. I would have rather eaten a McDonald's burger off the floor that had been stepped on, as opposed to this cardboard flavored burger that was so dry it crumbled in your hands. The fact that it literally took a solid hour (at 2:30 in the afternoon) for it to be finished enhanced the trip that much more. There was a clear lack of leadership in the building, as the wait staff constantly asked and bickered between themselves about who was waiting what section of the floor. So to sum things up, if your standards for a decent meal are below sea level, and you've got all the time in the world to wait for your terrible food, then this is the place for you, otherwise I think I saw sonic drive in a couple minutes away. As for me, I wish I could take it all back and eat at sonic, as bad as fast fooD sounded prior to my visit to this place. While on vacation in Arkansas a week or so ago, we had the pleasure of dining at Artisan. We had a large table of 17 people. Our server was AMAZING and wasn't stressed over having so many people at once in her section. From what I saw the other tables in her section didn't miss out on excellent service due to our large group either. Our server was attentive and quick. Went for the first time with another couple. Seated immediately - waitress took all our drink orders: my Blue Moon draft tasted old (skanky). After returning to take our orders, the waitress let us know it was her second day on the job. Asked for a bottle of Blue Moon, she said they didn't have it- although a bottle is displayed on the bar. Waited and waited and waited for our appetizers- they arrived shortly before 3 of our 4 entrees. Waitress then disappeared. When she returned after half the meals were eaten, was told about the missing entree as well as a side salad that went with one of the other meals. (She asked if everything was okay without noticing a missing meal). She offered to place the order for the missing sandwich and get the side salad for other person's order. The other meals are finished and she still hasn't returned- we had to go to the register to ask for the salad. Waitress returned with missing entree in a take out container and it was- THE WRONG MEAL! Everyone else finished with food. We told the cashier to only ring the three meals, drinks, and appetizers. When asked why- we explained and no offer of apology, no offer to correct in any other way; like comp an appetizer- nothing. Our friends were facing the front and said they watched the new waitress ask for help from the other staff and they ignored her. Their customer service, training, and food are all subpar. I think I was the first one to ever write a review of the Artisan Steak House and Grill back when they first opened. My opinion has not changed from then but has only gotten better..The food is excellent; the service is done with a smile..The "wait time" is minimal..The restaurant and rest rooms are clean...But (and there is always a "but") there is always a chance of your going there on an off day (either your off day or theres) and would not agree that this is a place that you may want to frequent...Don't let that one day misguide you...Congrats to the Brewer family for an excellent establishment and a job well done.... read more

Lots of choices, friendly staff and no complaints about the food. While it wasn't something I would rave about as the best I've ever had, it was good, freshly prepared food. I said I wouldn't be back, but and hubby and I went there for lunch. I tried the special, the steak fajitas. 2 tortillas came with steak and they brought out lettuce, tomato, pick de gallo and sour cream. No sautéed pepper and onions. Really? Never had fajitas without peppers and onions! And the sauce was like super hot vinegar! They should have advertised them as steak tacos. And no rice or beans, either! Just the "fajitas". Hubby's bacon infused burger was terribly dry. Only good thing was the fries, but I was so hungry at that point! Employees can write glowing reviews, but everyone I've talked to says this place won't last. 2 stars is for the service. I get the idea that they are trying to be an upscale restaurant in a small town, but this is not how its done. I went there for lunch and got the black and bleu burger and some sweet potato fries. Lets just start with the burger, it was dry. I didn't taste hardly any blue cheese. The portion of sweet potato fries was too small. The whole thing came on a small plate (think like a salad plate). Also the price, I mean seriously. It was north of $9 bucks for just the burger, add on $3 for the fries. And that's the meal, no salad bar, nothing else. I could literally go down the street and get a way better meal for $12. The service was mediocre. It wasn't terrible, but getting a refill was difficult, and beverages come in 12 oz glasses, with ice that's like 6 oz of tea or water before you need a refill. If you want salad bar access you're looking at like $7.95, and the salad bar is very basic. It was on par with the local high school cafeteria. I get that restaurants have slim margins, but they should try to make a profit by getting lots of people in the door not by squeezing the few that wander in for all they are worth. I am frankly surprised this place is still in business. Basically they are trying to do upscale traditional American cuisine. I understand and respect that. But when the meal compares unfavorably to Ruby Tuesday, or any of the El Acapulco variants, I must wonder, why are they wasting their time. read more

I tried to call in a to-go order and was told "just a minute." Then they put the phone down so that I could hear all the background noise. I was left hanging for ten minutes! I finally hung up and decided to call back. Guess what? The line was busy. Tried several more times; line was busy, because they just put the phone down and forgot. So I got in my car to drive there to place my order. It's a 15 minute drive and I tried to call the whole time I was driving. Line still busy. I got to the drive thru pickup window with the phone in my hand and told the person at the window, "I've been trying to call for 30 minutes; your phone is off the hook." So, I placed my order and went to get my car washed while waiting the 30 minutes for my order. Picked up my order, went home to feed the hungry family. Short story -- the food was overcooked, dry and horrible. I also know of two employees who had family members who tested positive for COVID, but were still going in to work. I will NEVER set foot in this restaurant again. Horribly managed. Also was in there once when a "manager" with short blonde hair went off on one of the servers right in front of customers. Really low class and inappropriate. Can't believe the owners would allow mangers to do that. read more

My husband and I have eaten here several times since they've opened and let me tell you, they are absolutely wonderful. Their service is good, the owner is really nice and actually comes out and asks you if everything is alright, always has a smile on her face. Every time we eat there, the food is just immaculate. It's amazing the difference homemade makes compare to store bought. I also asked her if she had shrimp scampi which is not something she had on the menu before, but because I, a customer, asked for it, she put it on the special board. We were able to split an order of scampi and still had enough to where we weren't hungry. I am sorry to say I had a terrible experience at Artisan. The blue cheese burger made me very ill. I was up all night with food poisoning symptoms. My husband had similar symptoms but was ok within an hour. We have eaten there before and the food was good. Maybe there is a new cook or things are not being stored at the right temperature. The burger seemed to be warmed up. I never understand why a restaurant does that. It really is not that difficult to start fresh. We won't be back. read more

The place is well named, let me tell you. Considering that I come from a father who was in culinary school and could make swill taste amazing and mothers who could feed us the basics gently spiced to completely alter the taste from day to day (something that is woefully deficient in the typical household... not mine, thank goodness!)... then I come from a family who knows FOOD like no one else. and Artisan Steakhouse and Grill is a restaurant run and staffed by people who KNOW FOOD and are proud of their accomplishments! Like any master craftsman, it is not always the obvious that blows you away, but the subtle highlights and accompaniments that enhance the subject and take it from mundane to amazing. Artisan Steakhouse and Grill has food that is exactly that. Today I had the shrimp po' boy sandwich and Onion rings while my wife had Boston Pork Butt with bar-b-Que sandwich, cole slaw and baked beans. Both were specials offered as we walked in. I was very, VERY interested in the various menu items and almost chose to go with several other items, but instead opted for the shrimp po' boy. I am glad I did! To start, let me tell you about the explosion of flavor highlighted by the slight bite and tang of the secret sauce which enhanced my sandwich. It was not one of those "In your face" ICP style rap battle explosions so much as it was flavor that was insanely well choreographed in a complex dance through my mouth culminating in a standing ovation from my taste buds. The smells highlighted the feast and even though I am not usually able to eat spicy food any more at all, I found absolutely NO ill effects from the spicy twang and sensuous ballet that sprang through my mouth! Even still, as I write this, I still have suffered no ill effects and desperately wishing that I had thought to order more to bring home for my dinner! And the Onion rings!!!... the onion rings that I ate were absolutely PERFECT!! Far too many restaurants can really mess up something simple like onion rings ... I hate it when you order onion rings and they give you a slightly crunchy sog fest of onion flavored mush... I did NOT get that at Artisan Steakhouse and Grill. the Onion rings served to me were slightly darker than golden and crunchy on the outside and bursting with flavor. I don't know what the secret sauce was in the Po' boy sandwich, but I can honestly say that I mopped up as much as I could with my onion rings to get every last drop of flavor that I could! I would be able to make a feast out of just the Onion rings and secret sauce alone! Let me also point out that there is a special flavor to the house Ketchup as well. I turned it down when offered, because I am someone who despises ketchup and it's typical flavor (found in store bought bottles or offered in restaurants)... HOWEVER... the Artisan Steakhouse and Grill Ketchup is uniquely home made without preservatives and FRESH! THAT in itself alters flavor a great deal! I asked for a bit to taste and even without something to dip into it (other than my finger) it blasted fresh tomato as well as hints of picante at me! (and I almost lost my finger to my own mouth!) I really was stunned! THIS is what Ketchup is supposed to taste like, in my humble opinion! Although I am one who normally would not touch Ketchup with a long rifle and ten foot pole attached, I will buy the Ketchup from Artisan Steakhouse and Grill any day! I hope they bottle some because it is a tasty flavor explosion that I can definitely get used to. I watched my wife eat her bar-b-Que and noticed something else that I found to be insanely important: Artisan Steakhouse and Grill doesn't saturate their food with sauce overwhelming the taste buds with a single flavor! The bar-b-cue was sauced and it highlighted the flavor of the meat and sandwich; it DID NOT try to drown it! THAT tells me a lot about the type of chef that is behind the scene's making the food. Anyone can drown a dish in a sauce and make people think it is good (I do this often when I mess up my "road-kill spaghetti") but it takes a true master craftsman to bring together different spices in a subtle and well choreographed symphony of flavors and textures to create a truly memorable dish that is not only well liked, but worth coming back for repeatedly. Not only will I try to eat here FAR more often, but I have my eye on some of their menu items that I think would be great to try, from the "Black and Blue" burger to the Shrimp salad. If their other menu items are anything like the sandwiches that we had today for lunch, then I can make an honest prediction: I am gonna gain a LOT of weight in the near future! the place was very clean and uncluttered (which is something that even a paranoid person like myself can enjoy) and much larger on the inside than I thought. Today we finally got out to Highland and enjoyed some of the best food and hospitality to be had anywhere. The hot artichoke and spinach appetizer was a decadent heart stopper. In a good way! I can also highly recommend the Chicken Parma sandwich with that wonderful toasty brioche bun, melty cheese and Dave's top shelf homespun marinara. You can really taste the care that goes into crafting the excellent sandwiches and everything else we shared around the table. Mom had the ribeye and used the butter knife to cut it, but you could have done it with a fork. Perfectly cooked, tender and juicy.
