This is the tasting counter inside La Grande Epiceree. It's focus: Truffles!
You can sit at the counter and enjoy a snack or meal from it's truffle-centric menu.
The folks also offer assistance in purchasing truffles or any kind of truffle item--cheese, oils, salts, etc.
We opted for seats at their counter and enjoyed a leisurely early dinner. I enjoyed a glass of bubbly as I watched our servers prepare our dishes.
Starting with baguette slices, slightly grilled, served with a side of truffle oil for dipping.
My son and I shared the Truffle ravioli and the Truffled Burrata. The ravioli had a cheesy truffle sauce and topped with a generous helping of shaved truffles. The Burrata was made with truffle and served atop fresh arugula with cherry tomatoes and a balsamic vinaigrette. Also topped with a generous helping of shaved truffles.
Everything was delicious and decadent. The servings were the perfect size that we were satisfied and not overly stuffed, despite the richness of the ravioli sauce. We ran out of toasted bread and they were more than happy to give us some more, much to the delight of my baguette loving son.
Our cooks/servers were very nice and helpful. It was a great meal and nice experience. read more
