the smell of artic on the street lures you into this bakery - bread baking is always fantastic. this is a small bakery that has a few locations across prague but "bakehouse" means they make the pastries in house. my little brother is a local in prague and highly recommended this spot so of course i went twice! the first time i got the ham and cheese croissant which was delicious and very cheesy. the second time i got the nougat croissant which was so good but my american brain wanted more filling in it. check it out if you are in the area!

Came here on a Tuesday morning and got the "Love Boll" (or maybe it was ball? it was a handwritten sign), a Pistachio cookie, and a nougat croissant. There was no line and service was friendly. I was surprised the discover that the nougat croissant had chocolate inside of it (I assumed it would just be nuts and sugar), and it was a little sweeter than I'm used to filled croissants being. The pistachio cookie was incredible greasy. I carried it around all day and it quickly soaked through the paper baggie, four paper towels, and two pamphlets I wrapped around it to keep the grease from getting on my bag. It was also a little too sweet for me, without a strong pistachio flavor. The Love Boll/Ball was the best. It was fried dough scented with spices and filled with raisin that were absolutely delightful. Not heavy at all, and no greasy mouthfeel. If I were in the area, I'd absolutely come back for a Love Boll/Ball, but probably not either of the other things.

Considering there aren't that many bakeries in the area, I appreciate the variety offered here. Plus, they open pretty late. I can tell this place is loved by locals. The ladies love to make small talk with them and give dogs treats. What I didn't like was the cold shoulder treatment because I couldn't speak Czech. Unfriendly attitudes aren't uncommon towards tourist in Prague but this place really took the gold medal on making me feel unwelcome as if I had 10 seconds to order before I will bget kicked out. Lady thought she could scam me out of giving 100CZK less change. Well, she scammed me out of one pastry, that's for sure.

Caramel roll might be my favorite thing I ate in Prague !! Like so good we went back and got it on 3 separate occasions at 3 different locations

Really solid and fresh bakery! You can see them making things as you walk in. I got the white chocolate raspberry scone which I was skeptical about but ended up being my favorite item! Not dry like a normal scone, very subtle white chocolate raspberry flavor it was delicious! Next up monkey bread, not my favorite, cinnamon and chocolate flavor on croissant dough but nothing amazing. I wished for it to be more buttery. Lastly the nougat croissant, solid choice nice chocolate hazelnut flavor and sugar crust but not the best croissant. I would come again, and enjoyed my visit here in Prague!

Hands down one of the best bakeries I've been to in Europe. I've been in Europe for about 6 months total now, and I've encountered many amazing bakeries but this place. Wow. I wish I was rich enough to hire these people to come back to Hawaii with me so they could bake me fresh bread every day. I passed by here on my last night in Prague and after seeing their drool-worthy selection of baked goods, I knew I had to come back before leaving Prague the next day. The worker was very helpful and answered all of my many many questions. I ended up getting the: Nougat Croissant 75czk - AMAZING. Woah. Okay, I've been living in France for the past three months and I thought we were the king of croissants but goddamn I think I may need to give this award to Artic Bakehouse. The nougat croissant was a hefty piece of art, with a beautifully caramelized honey top and the inside was filled (FILLLLLED.) with praline and chocolate. It was basically like a pain au chocolat stuffed with a praline filling. The croissant itself was so soft, buttery, and flaky. I still dream about this. Monkey Muffin 50czk - WOW. I have no words. They use croissant dough for this monkey muffin, and they stuffed it with chunks of chocolate, and sprinkled it with sliced almonds. The top pieces had a nice crunch, and the bottom and inside pieces were soooo soft and doughy, and oh my god, the pieces that had the melted brown sugar? I thought I had died and come back to life. You'd think it would be too sweet considering all the brown sugar and chocolate they put in, but I think I could have eaten another one no problem. Chocolate Cookie 50czk - Ever since I tried the €1 cookies from my local bakery in Rennes, Le Fournil Vasselot, I've been on the hunt to find an equally good cookie in Europe. I saw these and they seemed like a good candidate. They were big in size, seemed moist and hefty and filled with chocolate flavor. White Chocolate Raspberry Scone 50czk

Probably the best chocolate croissant of my life. Loved it. Wish I'd gone back ten times. Plus it's in a great neighborhood to explore.

Lovely bread and sweets bakery that we happened to walk by. We got croissants and a dark seeded baguette that had fantastic flavor.

Těžké dánské pečivo. Jeho fanoušek bude hodnotit jinak, příznivcům lehkého francouzského pečiva to určitě vyhovovat nebude.

We made a stop and was wide eyed upon entering, as everything behind the glass counters looked delicious. They had everything from kolaches, to gorgeous desserts, open faced sandwiches, to salads and meat croquettes. We tried the Prague ham with egg, half cheese half Prague ham/pepperoni, and the caviar chlebicky. Each open face sandwich was delicious. Every item was carefully placed on each slice of bread. A layer of potato salad topped with a slice of cucumber and tomato, half boiled egg, and thin layer of Prague ham. The ham was light and thin, and not overly salted as you would find in a supermarket. So easy and delicious to eat, that you can't just have one. I tried the caviar oblene chlebicky which had two different types of caviar on it. It was nice, light, and not salty either. Good cheap eats. One star off as the ladies behind the counter were not very friendly.

The staff is clearly very well organized and efficient. Service was quick, attentive, and professional. The waiters were elegantly dressed, which added to the classic, old-world charm of the place. We also got lucky and were seated by the window, which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely outstanding -- truly one of those meals that makes every cell in your body feel happy. Everything was beautifully prepared, flavorful, and comforting, yet refined. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in doing things right. Yes, it's popular and a bit touristy -- but for a very good reason. Café Louvre lives up to its reputation, combining history, atmosphere, and excellent food with smooth, professional service. We highly recommend checking this place out when visiting Prague. It's a classic for a reason.
