The office staff never offered an explanation at the time of check-in. A simple, "doctor is running behind." "Would you like to wait to be seen or reschedule?" would have been appropriate and grately appreciated. The waiting room chaos was related to a blatant back-fire of appointment over-booking gone bad! I don't find listening to outraged patient waiting room ranting an asset to any medical practice. When my daughter was finally seen by Dr. Botwin on 05/20/2013, he spent less than two minutes examining her ankle. He offered a weak apology stating "Sorry for the wait, but many patients have problems and I try to accomodate as many as I can." Well-- Dr. Botwin, you let the cat out of the bag when you stated "as many as I can." What about quality of care versus quantity of patients you can run through in a day?" I would suggest patient scheduling should be reviewed to avoid the chaos we experienced in the waiting room. Everyone's time is valuable and patient's should not feel rushed during the course of their medical treatment. My advice, call ahead to determine if doctor is running on time and definitely inquire what the anticipated wait time is when checking in.

It's difficult to find places that my insurance so my practitioner's assistant helped find me someone and gave me a referral... This guy is super old and chewed on his fingers during the entire putting-my-info-in-his-computer time. When I say chewed I mean he stuck his finger to the back of his teeth and gnawed on it until drool came out. Then took his finger out, typed on his computer, clicked on his mousepad, picked up my file...then put it back in his mouth. Then checked his phone and stuck his thumb in his mouth next. Then he went to take my blood pressure and do a once over on my ears nose and throat and I had to stop him and say "you didn't wash your hands." He paused and didn't look at me. Then I said "You were CHEWING on your fingers, you need to wash your hands before you touch me." So he did, then said sorry. Did the procedure and gave me my results and walked out of there. His office claims to accept United Health Care, my insurance carrier. In fact, before I went to see him I called his office to confirm that my visit would cost me nothing more than the co-pay. One of his secretaries, Adrianna, told me she would contact UHC to confirm that. She called me back five mins later and confirmed, as I though, that it would only cost me $20 - my co-pay. I went to the office that afternoon and was seen by Dr. Goldberg in his miserable, tiny flea-bag of an office (there are 2 rooms, and the toilet in the bathroom makes you feel like you're in Lower East Side tenement). He spent most of the visit railing against Obama and his attempts at reform, which is always pleasant- bring politics into a medical appointment! Now.....whether or not you are in favor of Obama's stuff doesn't matter- I don't want to talk politics, especially with regard to finances, with my doctor. Ugh. Then, to top it off, I go to pay my co-pay and a different receptionist tells me that I owe $125, payable NOW. 'It should be much more....', Dr. Lame-A** says when I tell him of my earlier conversation as to the co-pay covering things, "...but I'm not charging you for the throat culture." I politely argued with them, telling them of the conversation earlier and that I was sure my policy covered a standard office visit, but they were insistent. If I didn't have a 101 degree fever at the time, I think I would have told them to just bill me. But instead, I caved and gave them my credit card. Got home, called UHC, and was told that it should have been my co-pay only. Called Dr. S**t-face and was told that, in truth, when they bill UHC they don't get reimbursed in full, and that it takes 2 months for them to get their money. So that's why the $125 was payable in full instead. These guys are lame, fraudulent crooks who have a decrepit office and claim to accept insurance that they then don't recognize. They will over-charge you and then change their story as to why, and you'll end up screwed. Stay away from these crooks.

He doesn't really offer any insight into your symptoms and on top of that, they continually try to book multiple appointments for you. I am sure this is because they want you to pay multiple co-pays. For example, on a general physical they made me make 3 appointments: one for the physical, one to draw blood (which shouldn't require a co pay in my opinion since all he is doing is sticking me with the needle), and one to go over your blood results. You may want to look elsewhere before you start booking appointments here. He may know what he is doing, but he tries to nickle and dime you and talk your ear off every visit. He definitely isn't worth that kind of time.

THIS DENTIST IS RACIST, DO NOT GO TO HIM!!!!…read more Me (a white skinned woman) and my boyfriend (a black man) have went to this dentist about 3 times and had a fourth appointment which we ultimately cancelled. We both needed a root canal and crown, after the initial visit which was a cleaning and xray, the dentist tells us our insurance covers the root canal and crown and that we would need to pay a co-pay which was ~$1500, which we paid immediately when asked and never had no issues. after our 3rd appointment the dentist has his receptionist man call me and say the insurance didn't cover anything, this was on 6/20/23, which they also immediately mailed me a bill dated 6/20 as well for almost $5k. Since then me and the insurance have been non-stop calling the dentist trying to get a discount which my insurance provides. The whole time the insurance got them on the phone maybe like 2 times, one where the receptionist man said he doesn't know what im talking about, then eventually July 1st the receptionist called my phone telling me that they will provide the discount of 20% (mind you our appointment was scheduled for July 3) as i'm on the phone with the receptionist I tell him I will have to cancel because I cannot afford the price they are giving me since I was under the impression by them that the insurance covered it, AND ALSO I WAS TRYING FOR TWO WEEKS. The dentist got on the phone telling me I have to pay even though since the crown is already made, which typically I get, but not if i been trying to contact you for 2 weeks before the crown was even made. And the he starts yelling at me, in which my boyfriend gets on the phone and starts yelling back and eventually we we say if we cannot handle this on the phone then we will come in person and the dentist says PLEASE COME, so we hang up and make our way. About 20 mins later while we are in the car, the police call my phone from the dentist phone number. When we arrive at the dentist there is arguing and yell and the police threaten to arrest us even though we did nothing wrong, this is all based off what the dentist told them and lied about. And as im arguing with the dentist he tells us he's not scared of us (which we made no threats or anything so there would be no reason for you to say that.) My boyfriend says so if you aren't scared then why is there 4 police cars here, and the dentist says they aren't here for me they're here for you, and proceeds to call my boyfriend a THUG. which was uncalled for because my boyfriend did nothing to the dentist and when we call him out on being racist, the dentist looks to the ONLY black officer saying "what's racist" and I tell him his actions in itself are racist and how is my bf a thug and I'm not when I have the same energy as him. To top it all off, after the initial cleaning, the dentist chipped one of my bf's teeth which has been causing him more pain and we notified him of that, and he was suppose to look at it on our july 3 appointment, which never happened. Ultimately the dentist agreed to take off the crown since that was not yet serviced, but refused to give me a bill reflecting that so I could review and pay. He demanded I pay the remainder first before he shows me a bill and takes it off. I refused and he threatened to send me to collections after 30 days if i don't pay. Not sure how I can pay if i don't have a bill. Regardless I contacted my attorney and we will be handling this in court if the dentist choses to.
