Well after my nail tech suddenly left the establishment that I had been going to for several years I had to do the thing I hate the most, find a new tech that could take the place of Jesse. I'm sure finding a great nail tech is like buying a new car, you really have to do your research along with trial an error. Through the help of yelp app I started the process and to my excitement found a salon quickly. After making an appointment that she gave me for the same day, I went in and met Koko. Everyone let me tell you. I found out that I really had never known what it is was like to have an professional set of solar nails. She did not rush, she did my cuticles to perfection, the shaping was done like I've never seen before and when she finished I had the most beautiful set of nails I have ever had. She is crazy good. I don't give compliments like that to just anyone, actually I don't ever do this comment stuff but she's to good to be passed over. Ask for Koko and usually booked so call ahead for appointment. I requested a full set of short stiletto nails with an ombre polish black to nude from tip to base. The nails were applied well. But the color style I requested couldn't be achieved. It looks like I did it myself. I kinda wish I had asked to have them done correctly before I left but I didn't have time, mind you it took her 2 hours to put the set on, and I felt rushed because another customer was waiting for the technician that did my nails when I realized that I wasn't going to get what asked for. I spent $120+ including tip and regret it. I don't know that I'll return to this place for even a pedicure or manicure in the future. Next time I think I'll listen to my gut and leave before I waste my money and time. read more

I found this place by chance with Yelp when I typed in nail design... I wanted my nails to look the best they had ever looked because I was pretty sure that my boyfriend was about to propose to me on our upcoming trip to DisneyWorld. Yuki started my nails and Desi finished them... they were a great team, they took their time and didn't make me feel rushed which I absolutely love! One of the things I hate about having my nails done is feeling like they are trying to hurry up and finish my nails because they have other clients waiting!!! Paid over 100 for the worst nail job ever and I've never had to pay over 100 for a full set and pedicure either prices are not as advertised either I also was ask to pick a color in a pitch black room the the guy wasn't even going to soak my feet for my pedicure I had to tell him how to do what he's been doing his whole life for some reason and the nail lady didn't give me what I asked for I said full set of acrylic and she does dip powder for double the price and nails look like this in less then 2 weeks!! read more

Not sure why this salon has 2 stars. I started out at the salon on Glen Ridge about a year ago, and moved to the Babcock location to continue using Yuki as my manicurist. Yuki is THE BEST. I searched for years for a salon after my manicurist moved out of town and stumbled on the Glen Ridge location because of reviews. Artesian Nails (Babcock) is clean, sanitary, provides excellent service and most importantly cares about the customer. Yuki works when you need her to and will try to accommodate you the best she absolutely can. She is precise, attentive to details and cares about delivering the best quality nails possible. I literally have gone 8 weeks with out getting a fill and yes my nails looked absolutely retched, but I did not have a single broken nail or chipped polish! How's that for quality!?! This is not a mall type salon, meaning she is not trying to get as many customers in and out through the door as she can. Plan on having to spend some time getting your nails done. Plan on making an appointment because the chances of being a walk-in are slim. Yuki treats you like a friend, if you need a drink just ask, if you need a charger, she has one too, if you want to watch something specific on TV, she will hand you the remote. BUT DO NOT BE IN A RUSH OR EXPECT A RUSH JOB. Quality takes time and that is what you get here, quality. read more

I came here Tuesday for a pedicure. I bought the opi products one. Everyone was nice and said hi. The lady who did my pedicure was in such a hurry. I felt rushed and nobody was even in there. She kept timing the stopwatch. I paid for a pedicure for the extra massage it claimed to have and she didnt even rub by feet. Mainly my legs and rushed the other leg when the timer went off. My polish didnt even cover the whole toenail. And its already chipped. I wanted to come back here because everyone is nice but the quality was horrible. I work in this beauty industry and i wanted a place to relax a bit. All that being said, i wont be returning here. read more

Don't go here unless you plan on being there for 4 hours. That's how long it took to do a full set with color powder. The work was okay but not 4 hours long worth. Called ahead and made an appt with the owner Yuki for me and my friend to have dipping powder manis. We arrived 20 mins early so naturally had to wait. Well 15 mins past our time, another lady, I think it was DiDi, took us to tables to get our nails soaked. She was assigned to help my friend and I waited patiently for Yuki. 30 mins past the appt time another lady comes in and yuki told her to sit at her table. Didi told her I was next and she said no. I said yes I called and my appt was for 3pm. She asked my name then looked at her phone and said oh yes I see it here but I can't take you. I have another appt and I need to eat something. I sat there trying not to make a scene. Didi stepped in and said she would help and another worker said she would too so both of them had to take care of me so Yuki could help the other lady who I guess was a regular but I'd been to Yuki several times before. The whole situation was embarrassing and upsetting. I didn't want to give a bad review because didi or maybe it was Desiree I can't remember her name, did an awesome job stepping in to make sure I was taken care of but the unprofessionalism of the owner was shocking to me and I haven't returned. read more
