Many mental health professionals aren't well educated on Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. After being initially diagnosed with general anxiety disorder. I truly felt there was more to what was going on with my mental health. Many people, including professionals are only familiar with OCD as it is shown in the media. People think OCD only manifests itself in physical compulsions like checking doors or the oven multiple times. Many aren't aware of what is now known as "Purely Obsessional" OCD in which the compulsions are internal. After hearing my symptoms and day to day dealings with this nightmare, she was able to properly diagnose me with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She has even helped me with advice and referrals after I haven't been to a session in years out of the kindness of her heart. I highly recommend her if your currently struggling. Thank you again Doctor.

This group did a terrible job of handling basic intake correspondence and ultimately denied me service, for no apparent or stated reason, after jerking me around for a week. I'm ranking 2 stars because y'all never let me get as far as actually consuming the service you provide, so- one star would be a little precocious in my mind, but still- the people I was in contact with were grossly unhelpful & Elizabeth Duke- the clinical director I spoke with- was super unprofessional! After calling & getting no response, then emailing and going back-and-forth-and-back-and-forth with multiple people for a full week, just requesting an initial appointment & posing a handful of really basic questions (which were ignored repeatedly- like- it was as though I was getting sent multiple different form letters), Elizabeth finally offered me an appointment, which I accepted. However- she then turned around and glibly denied it to me with no explanation. It was super nonsensical & deeply frustrating. Sharing this experience so perhaps other prospective clients of this practice don't waste as much time as I did getting the run-around on patronizing this place.

This place is a scam/sham. Obviously they help people lie their way into getting their spouse…read moreapproved thru the hardship waiver for immigration. That is, how the wife/husband will be affected emotionally if the husband or wife (straight or LGBTQ) were sent back to their country meaning get deported for not having papers, they just create a cheesy story to get you to fake your way into getting your spouse approved for papers thru the hardship waiver. Which with the current administration this doesn't really matter to do a psychological evaluation because with open borders nobody is getting deported. Even prior they haven't been getting deported as much as they should so if you choose to waste your money here that is up to you. If you want to lie to immigration that is up to you. I'm so glad my sister got out of the scam and isn't even with her husband because she figured out it was a sham scam also marriage was where he tried to take advantage of her to get papers thru her and he was being fake in love with her, just happy when he's drinking beers like a 12 pack in one sitting and he even paid this place to do an evaluation on her so they can get they psychological part fulfilled so he can stay in America. I'm glad she realized the whole relationship wasn't genuine and same with this place is just scamming people and making you lie so your partner can get papers. This business should be closed. Also seen in some of the images they are advertising their presidential candidate. Thought places like this should be free of politics. Either way steer clear of this business organized in a private home. Also my sister told me the woman nmed Caren who interviewed her looks like she's one of those psychic fortune tellers. Engaging in hypnosis and as if there is some strange force in the room when she was being interviewed. After that my sister has reassessed her own personal relationship with her spouse and asked God for help because deep inside she had a feeling the whole relationship wasn't genuine as she was manipulated by him into getting married and the whole thing got rushed. Also she felt strange vibes during and after being interviewed with Caren.

My experience having been treated here was relieving at first as I really needed serious attention…read moreand help, but slowly became unprofessional. This is not the location to choose if you are looking for long-term healing. The advice and insight I've been given felt like a bandaid compared to a lot of the complex and deeper issues I was struggling with. I didn't feel care or empathy at all from Katarina. The office started ghosting me, and have not gotten any response from her. Coming out of my sessions I felt unimportant, I felt like my issues and struggles didn't matter. This place didn't feel like a lighthouse. Matters got worse when I was asking for a note, or signing papers for work. The attitude towards me became cold. If it was out of their capabilities, I wish they tried referring me to a different location, helping me reach out to the actual help I needed. I felt so lost and stressed especially in the state I was in already. I felt threatened to have a session or not. Please, take the time to listen, be patient, understanding, responsive, and act with care as all these patients are going through tough times. Edit* After writing this review, I experienced an unsavory set of actions in order for me to take down this review, thus slowing my healing process. I have no doubt they have helped individuals before, but the unsavory actions indicate large red flags for this business. I advise caution. After every session, Katarina would just walk away like time was up that's it. I just felt like a stranger that she had to talk to for one hour and then that's it. Being a social worker, I felt it lacked the empathy and warmth. I've never felt as if she tried to understand me. I switched to my old psychologist and after just one session with him I felt hopeful. I expressed my concerns and he showed me empathy and a willingness to work things through.

You can get better information, advice and direction from YouTube or podcasts. There are several highly trained and experienced therapists that you access for your specific concern. Unless you lack any self awareness, and even then, either these therapists are oblivious or simply don't have a level of skill or any follow through necessary. If you don't return, no one follows up. May as well just use a free, more highly specific resource. I was advised to take action that is opposite of that for dealing with someone with the issues presented and would've further antagonized an already dangerous situation. Presented with the caveat they really don't know. I am not paying to get advice from someone who doesn't know! I can get bad advice for free, on my own time and not have to drive! Maybe try online therapy that isn't as expensive and time consuming and offers more alternatives for your specific issue. Extremely disappointing. Do not recommend.

Dr Oscherwitz has kept me going for over 13 years…read more Her style is business-like and appropriate to her practice and profession. At the same time she has great empathy and concern when you communicate your distress to her. Dr O manages my prescriptions - I do not see her for regularly for only "talk therapy". - In this role, she digs to find out what I'm dealing with - tragedies, annoyances and wins. I'm not receiving one-size-fits-all treatment. - She ALWAYS coordinates my regimen with my physician and LCSW therapist so that each knows what the other is doing and when changes may impact my mental or physical health. - Dr O stays current on new therapies/medications and adjusts my treatment carefully but aggressively so that I benefit from the best outcome. - She takes the state of my finances in to consideration, also, so that I'm getting the best outcomes possible, but when asked she works to find less expensive alternatives that are effective. (Having been uninsured three times during our relationship, this has been an enormous help and relief.) - And she checks in with me "off the clock" when things are particularly bad. How often does your doctor follow up with you to make sure you're okay? Personally I don't experience that level of care with otherwise excellent healthcare providers. Uber warm and fuzzy she's not, but Dr O is genuinely invested in my welfare and has been since the first time we met. It was a stroke of luck that I found her. If you wonder whether drug-therapy could improve your quality of life, make an appointment to see her. I've referred others to her. If she can help, she'll let you know. If not, she'll let you know. Priceless.
