mexican food in a styrofoam container
    Dale S.

We first tried Arteagas last month we were really disappointed but I hate writing negative reviews and everyone has a bad day so it's always best to give multiple chances. Unfortunately, our next (and last) visit was more of the same. The employees were friendly and our food was ready every time when we arrived. Prices are reasonable. However, the food is just bad. The super burrito is small, the meat was dry and chewy and it had very little flavor. Steak tacos were ok but plain and the flauta meal was disappointing; you only get a few tiny flautas covered in sour cream. I think the biggest problem though is their beans and rice. They are probably the worst I have ever tasted. The rice was cold, clumpy and oddly flavored but luckily there wasn't much flavor to begin with. The beans were inedible. They put a small cube of white cheese into the beans that never melted (on either visit) because the beans are served cold. They are bland and have this gritty texture that is very off-putting. We might return to purchase something at the market portion as the staff is always nice and prices are equitable but I would not eat here again.

The chorizo is good and obviously made in house. The breakfast burritos in the picture being made are FULL of food and the tortillas freshly made are super delicious. The guacamole was decent. The staff is friendly.

Unbelievable! These flautas were extremely tiny! They look like the frozen taquitos you buy at a grocery store! I've ordered this plate in the past and it was NEVER like this! For the price I paid it is NOT worth it plus it arrived cold!!

    Carne asada fries???

Ordered through door dash. Pick up was waiting for them for a solid 20 minutes after delivery time. Carne asada fries didn't have any toppings, just meat, onions, and fries. Would only give two salsa cups, even though I ordered for four people. Burritos were bland at best.

Food was ok but my question to them is. We got two taco plates and the tacos and the rice and beans were all totally cold. Is that normal?

I love these burritos, my favorite in Lodi! The place is harder to find because it's in a market, but make the effort to find it!

The deli is a hidden gem, their made-to-order sandwiches are fresh, filling, and you can't beat the $5.99 price. It's also one of the very few places in Lodi where you can find wellness-focused foods and supplements, which makes it even more valuable locally. Friendly staff, quick checkout, and a great balance of quality and affordability. Highly recommend!

Two stars for being a "health food" super market in a town that isn't all that enlightened…read moreregarding the subject. I grew up in San Diego and got to witness Sprouts from the beginning. First it was Boney's, when things were on wire shelves like an old school co-op, then it became Henry's, and eventually Sprouts like it is today. Except back in the 90s, they made their own hummus in house, as well as a number of other items. Btw their hummus was the best, and I've had it all over the world. Fast forward to the mid 2000s and I lived in LA, where there was a Sprouts, a Trader Joe's, and a World Foods all within a short distance from one another. Sprouts had changed, but I could still get most of what I needed there. I only went to the other places for specific things, but Sprouts was my go-to. However they stopped making a lot of things in house, their deli sandwich were pitiful and expensive, and some of my old fav items were no longer there. Fast forward another however many years, and it's the only health food place in town. I don't know what changed, but it's different. The prices are a lot higher compared to what they were vs. mainstream and other health food stores. Probably the "Lodi Tax". They don't seem to have as much variety. And the ready made, microwave at home dishes are paired down to a limited variety, and are super expensive. Now there's the deli. They have this butternut squash dish. But they cook it with onions, garlic, and peppers. Not at all the flavor profile that goes with that squash. I couldn't eat it. Had to throw it out. Even my less picky friend spat it out. Why no cinnamon and nutmeg? Everyone likes that, and expects it. Then there's the deli meat. I have sometimes been able to find real sliced roasted turkey breast. Not the slimy stuff that you get pre packaged that is basically all the garbage parts of the bird blended up and poured into a mold with added water and sodium like pretty much all lunch meat. I mean real turkey breast. I know they have it. But depending on who is behind the counter, you either get someone who knows the difference (not hard to tell, just look!) and will happily help you out. Or you get someone who is clearly not happy to be there and doesn't want to put in the effort to just look, and will rather argue with you and pretend to not know what you are talking about. Which leads me to the whole processed lunch meat thing. If you look in the deli window at what claims to be 100% turkey breast, and is in the shape, and is as big as an actual turkey (or maybe a large chicken), and you slice it, and it is slimy and has tiny bubbles and no muscle grain in it, it is not an actual turkey breast. The turkey would have to be the size of an ostrich to have a breast that big and uniform, and you would have to be a very unobservant, or very lazy person to not know the difference when asked for real roasted turkey breast deli meat, despite what the manufacturer labels it as. So because of the shrinkage in items and the ongoing battle with the deli counter, and the skyrocketing prices, I kinda just stopped going here. Honestly, for a single bag of groceries here, I can get three at TJ's if I take the journey to Stockton. Yeah they don't even have a deli. So I guess sandwiches are out for me. But I'm saving money and getting better food items by avoiding this place. Sad to say it, but they gotta do better, and they need better people working there.

Not sure if it was a supermarket before also but the space is quite large. You've got everything in it like other Grocery Outlet stores. I saw a good meat cold case, lots of snacks esp chips and cookies which are my go-to's, I checked out the freezer aisle and saw a good amount of ice cream and popsicles for the hot days this summer. All in all, this is a solid store with lots of selections and the prices were the same or better than other grocery outlet stores as they had a special 99c section of their clearance items and they had other specials throughout the store too. Specifically, I got me some rice paper for spring rolls and some peanut butter which is a big stable at my house for protein balls and of course PBJ sandwiches for the kiddos when they need some quick energy on the go.

Adj: Well stocked and Well organized Store…read more This Lodi store was impressive to me as a regular GO shopper locally in my area of South Sacramento/Elk Grove. It was, first of all, one of the biggest stores I've been in. It was well stocked and had the one item that I couldn't find a several stores in Sacramento and Elk Grove, but that's not why I came here. We were going on a little family field trip and it wasn't too much of a detour to stop by here so I decided to make the stop. In any case, this store has the cheese, deli items, meats, dairy, eggs, produce, snacks, pantry items, health & beauty, and everything else other locations have plus they still had quite a bit of the seasonal spring gardening tools and essentials left too. There were also displays of some backyard patio furniture. Overall, this was a nice big and clean and well organized and well stocked store. There are not too many GOs in the central valley, vs in Sac area or the Bay area, but this one does seem to fill a niche and a need. Hope they keep up with the quality and value of grocery shopping here for their locals.

I couldn't get out to shop due to my caregiver responsibilities and my helper called in sick. I ordered online from Safeway and my order was delivered within hours. I was especially delighted that the Tri Tip roast (the star of my dinner) selected by my shopper was an excellent choice. Best ever, according to my son-in-law. I also needed some ingredients for the sweet and sour red cabbage soup and the sticky toffee pudding, which were also selected perfectly. Thank you, Safeway!

Both items have long shelf life. It's the #1 turkey day of the year. Anything not sold could be sold for Christmas, New Years or even Super Bowl. I do have to compliment the cashier up front. She was very nice and but did share that many people were mad. I ended up at Food 4 Less to do my shopping.
