Went out to buy a few things needed for dinner. Was pleasantly surprised to see plenty of carts available. The vegetable/fruit area is all stocked and clean. I found some great Roma tomatoes. The meat section was lacking a bit of variety; however I don't expect them to be a butcher shop. The remaining aisles were well stocked and clean; I even found an employee sweeping the area. My checkout was fast and painless. There were plenty of cashiers but I chose to do the self checkout. The assistant for this area was so pleasant and helpful! I chose to come to this Food 4 Less location just to compare to my usual Food 4 Less location in Stockton but so far since my first visit I've had a second visit already to this particular location in Lodi just because of my preference of this location being more clean and more of a friendlier atmosphere I guess you could say. Their selection and choice of vegetables are pretty well stocked and seem to look like a fresh pick for the most part. I could say that we did get our moneys worth each shopping trip here. It is a well visited location as both times, I noticed a lot of customer traffic going in and out. It's located in a well visited shopping center also. There may be a few items that you may think are a little overpriced but overall I stated I felt like we got our moneys worth here and this election was good. I like the fact that we were able to find a lot of items that were very minimal sugar or no sugar at all, especially in the ice cream selection. This store is the place to shop....From the very fresh produce, meats and all other products. I believe it is Safeway's sister store. Prices are way cheaper and the store is extremely clean. Also the nicest employees.... This grocery store does not accept credit cards. They also do not have any signs or anything to notify you of this. I did my grocery shopping & when I went to pay for it all I found this out the hard way. It was very embarrassing & very rude of the store to not let me know. Hands down the best all around deal for food prices in Lodi. I get most , if not all of my packaged or canned stuff here. Produce is hit and miss (Mostly hit) and if I'm going to use it quickly within a day or two it can't be beat. Their meat prices are not very affordable (especially the chicken breasts) but I definitely go there for my dried goods and canned-and frozen food. "Food 4 Less... saves money... for YOU!" Even though it was in the next town over my family has been venturing out here for years for the savings. I remember in my youth being excited to help push the then giant yellow carts up and down the aisles. I needed stuff to bake a cake for the next day (it was 2 am so in a few hours I needed the cake). Walmart and Food 4 less were the only two stores open in the area. I went to Walmart first. Bad decision, they overprice pretty much all of their food. Luckily Food 4 Less had everything I needed for forty percent cheaper. read more

Besides the cashier taking a long time finding out what kind of veggies we had in our bags this place was nice organized and clean.

I have been shopping at the Food 4 Less in Lodi since they opened. There was always less of a selection, but the good prices always brought me back. Recently while shopping, I took note of a lot of issues the store is having. While trying to select some fruits and vegetables, I couldn't escape the flies covering everything and attacking me. Others commented on the fly population as well. I also noticed people in the store walking dogs who were not service dogs, just pets who weren't properly left outside. I am a huge animal lover and rescuer, but bringing your pet into a food establishment is not acceptable unless the animal is licensed for service. A store employee should have brought this to the attention of the self-centered dog owner. The last disappointment was when the shelves were extremely picked-over and lacked restocking. Some areas in the meat section were completely bare. I think that it is probably time to change which grocery store I shop at. Next time, I will save a little more money and go to Raley's. I don't see any of these issues over there. read more

I love the fact that we can shop here at midnight, I hate shopping during the day.....its empty its quiet your in and out, versus during the day when its full of people, crowded noisy and your stuck in line for what seems like eternity! At night there is few people, you can breeze through your shopping list and be in and out in a flash. Love the late night hours. read more

These stores are best at like 4 am when it's empty and clean. I went in the middle of the day. I was shopping for a specific item and I went to get it, and not only was it sold out, but it was more expensive here than at Raley's. Produce is of poor quality, at best...don't seem to have "Killer Buys" as in the past. When they run a special it has limited flavors/choices...Why bother having beer semi refrigerated...barely cold...they brag about being 6 to 9 % cheaper than walmart...yet dont accept credit cards... This is the cheapest place I've found in Lodi, considering we don't have a Super Wal-Mart here. It takes a strong stomach to walk down the fresh meat aisle, which is required to get to the checkout. I thought the days of chicken blood on the outside of the container from my childhood had long gone, but I was wrong. This place is so aware of this problem that they have produce bags lining the meat aisle for you to put your meat in. That's great, but where's the hand sanitizer? They had taken two opened packages of Bar S brand products (7 hot dogs and half pkg of bologna) and wrapped them in a meat package for sale. Is this really up to code? The aisles are organized so that you wind your way through the store, stopping every five feet for another inconsiderate customer who is not paying attention to their cart, kids, or whatever else is blocking the tiny aisle. When you finally get to the checkout counter, bag all of your groceries, and get ready to pay, they inform you that they don't accept credit cards! WTF! Good thing I still had hundreds in cash from our recent trip to SF!!! I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't accept personal checks, but I don't carry those, either. Now I can go into the store, look at each customer, and bet how big their wad of cash is by how many items are in their cart! I understand the need to cut costs in order to be a bargain basement store, but I think this business model should be in the trash can. read more

Why doesn't Food 4 Less post signs stating they do not accept credit /debit cards??? i had a terrible embarrassing incident in Ceres , CA store on July 13, 2019. Wasted 1 hour to do all my shopping get to register and discover this Super Market does not accept credit/debit cards !! I was totally amazed that a store such as this does not accept credit/debit cards. What a shame they don't realize most people utilize these cards and are accepted just about everywhere except at Food 4 Less. Blows my mind who the hell is running these stores?? Do they not realize how much revenue/customers they are losing???
