If a cute and cozy vibe is your cup of tea, ArTeA is the place to be! Celebrated a friend's birthday here and the prix fixe afternoon tea was a vibrant experience that left us completely impressed. The savory and sweet bites were as enjoyable as they were visually appealing! The restaurant was also aesthetically pleasing with soft colors, modern wooden accents, and natural lighting which added warmth to the soothing ambience. The team was extremely warm and accommodating to allergies and dietary restrictions. Throughout our visit, we appreciated the well-paced service with thoughtful check-ins. Would highly recommend ArTeA for special occasions (reservations recommended) -- will be back to try the shop!

This is high-end luxury spa dining with a healthy menu and zen ambiance! The service is impeccable and the vibe so relaxed and welcoming. They play calm, relaxed zen music. It's almost contemplative.. we came to celebrate our friend's birthday! The menu is very healthy and has a variety of fresh ingredients! We ordered the pistachio latte, oolong beauty tea, Blooming Hibiscus tea, the salmon bowl, the Nomad Pie, the Beets Carpaccio, the Mushroom soup, the Pistachio Daquoise, the Cherry Blossom dessert, and the Blooming Agave nonalcoholic drink.

The decor at Artea House was absolutely beautiful--very elegant and inviting, making it a great place to meet a friend or relax. I was thrilled with the food I ordered: the Peach and Brie Sandwich was delicious and definitely the highlight of the meal! It was perfectly balanced and fresh. However, a few small things affected the overall flow of the visit: Timing: Our tea arrived almost immediately, well before any of the food (especially the sweets). It would be wonderful to enjoy the drinks and the accompanying dishes simultaneously, as the tea cooled down quite a bit by the time our food arrived. Menu Confusion: There seemed to be too many different menus (a drink menu, a food menu, a specials list, etc.) which made the ordering process a little confusing to navigate. Service Follow-up: Our server mentioned that the tea was refillable, which was a nice touch. However, they did not come by to check on us frequently enough for us to take advantage of the refills. Ultimately, Artea House has amazing potential, but it is on the pricier side for what you get. With some slight adjustments, this could easily be a 5-star spot.

I went with my daughter on a date but was disappointed by the honeydew pistachio milk tea, limited seats, and prices. They even ran out of tapioca (boba) balls (after I had already paid for them). The desserts and space are super cute, but I just don't know if it's enough to come back.

I can't recommend this place enough! I went there for their tea service. Everything was amazing! The food? Excellent? Tea? Excellent? Service? Excellent. We selected the cherry blossom service and enjoyed ourselves so much. Our server was welcoming and had an unhurried, friendly air. It felt more like we were in his home than a public restaurant. We were celebrating a specific event, but you can tell a place is good - when while you're there - you're trying to think of some future event you can come back there to celebrate! If I could give 6 stars I would give it!

Mango cake was DIVINE. Not too sweet. Light and airy cake layer with a tangy burst of mango from the jelly layer. The cream was rich and silky smooth. The thinnest chocolate shell covers the entire cake n it is topped with delicate gold leaves. The owners are from Kazakhstan and are so nice. I would definitely get another cake from them again.

4.5 A lovely spot. You can tell that everything was so carefully chosen, from the decor, to the cups and plates. It was empty on a Friday afternoon for tea so it was nice and quiet, with a whole staff standing there for us. Staff was friendly and responsive. We opted for 1 tea tower and separate entrees. The tea tower pricing seems steep for the number of items on it, but everything was super nice quality and detailed. There were 4 savory bites on the bottom, 3 sweet treats in the middle, and a Dubai chocolate and a strawberry on the top. The savory and sweets were both tasty. With the sweets being mini versions of ones that you can buy in the shop next door. Nothing was too sweet or potent, very mild flavors. And it didn't feel like haphazard standard crustless mini sandwiches. I wasn't a fan of the sweet potato au gratin, a bit mushy and I didn't vibe with the flavors. Everything else was really good and unique. The matcha watermelon sweet was so adorable and delicate; I got another one for home. I also got a smoked salmon sandwich which was more of a toast, but really good with yummy micro greens. My friend's salmon bowl looked really good, fresh and hearty. Both were surprisingly fairly priced --the bowl more worth it I think, from a satiety perspective, but I also liked that splitting the first and the toast didn't make me overly full. We ordered two different teas and we liked both of them, very diverse flavors. The lemongrass basil tea was really good. Afterwards we went to the shop part next door and I bought a couple more pastries to go. I wasn't a big fan of the black milk tea boba, the black tea seem to have been steeped for too long and it was a little bit rough on the tongue. The boba might have either been overcooked or undercooked a little bit as the centers were a bit hard. A bit far for me but definitely would come back!

I took a friend to high tea for her birthday. We didn't have a reservation and was able to walk in and get seated. Beautifully decorated and the food was amazing. Loved the attention to detail. They also have a small storefront next door where you can purchase teas and food. There is plenty of parking. Check them out you will be pleased.

I had recently watched a reel about the snowman boba cups and cute macarons, so I decided to journey all the way to check it out. Unfortunately, the snowman cup was sold out, but the person working the register did offer other Christmas cups (although they did not have a hole for the boba straw) so they were more like containers because you'd need to have an open lid to this container to drink the boba. So with the alternative cups - we still ordered boba. We also got one of each holiday macaron. Unfortunately yes again - our boba was made incorrectly and although the person at the register apologized about it - the seperate person actually making them sighed loudly annoyed with us even though she was the one who made them wrong. They were remade quickly and there was a thick stickiness on the outside of the "cup/container" that we had to clean. Additionally, they gave us the wrong "holiday" container/cups. With the attitude we had already endured - there was no way we wanted to deal with yet another attitude of requesting them to correct another one of their mistakes with changing them out. Overall the poor customer service ruined the experience for us - the boba was fine the macaron were great but as I mentioned there's no way I'd come back and I'd recommend you skip this place too. It's a shame as their selection of desserts looked phenomenal and I wanted to try more. I will look elsewhere for desserts and I'd recommend you do that too. Steer clear due to extremely poor attitude and customer service.

ArTeA has my favorite desserts , especially their seasonal rose dessert. Plus boba can be less sugar which is huge plus for me.

We spontaneously wanted some boba and found this gem in our neighborhood! When we first walked in, we were immediately greeted by the workers there and even got to meet the owner who was so kind and helpful! Apparently, they also have a restaurant and bar right around the corner from the tea shop! Both the bobas we got were delicious! They were bursting with flavor and the boba pearls themselves were delicious and sweet. The cake was also so good! It was a cream cake with no actual sponge cake in it but still good. It's not overly sweet and is bursting with flavor. She got the flavor spot on. They are also currently doing Halloween themed cakes which are so cute! The owner also told us that the cakes are made my scratch in house. So you know the quality is great. I will definitely be back again to try the other cakes and boba flavors. NOTE: I will say the cakes are pretty expensive. But understandable because they are made from my scratch.

We made a reservation for a Sunday tea and this place was perfect. Plenty of parking and their coffee/tea shop close by is so cute! For the price, it is a great deal and the food items were very elevated. Liked that they had gluten free and vegan options. Dacey was amazing! She answered all of our questions, worked with us as we got delayed and was the best.

We had a girls lunch (yes, they are open for lunch now) and the food is amazing. Very healthy and delicious options. We tried many items of their menu, including bowls, salad, quiche, beef with cabbage, spicy coconut pasta, mushroom soup and pumpkin soup. Soups are must try! So are the desserts. Absolutely the best in the area. Agree with others about the decor. Nicely done! A good place to visit to impress yours guests. Plenty of parking options. Friendly staff. A bonus: we were greeted by the owner and the chief. read more

Service: Very good! We were greeted by the owner who was very welcoming. Staff was also super kind with smiles on their faces. Explained everything so well. Quality: Top-notch. People in this area expect higher quality with fresh ingredients and the menu didn't disappoint. If they maintain this level of quality, they can do well. Price: Pricey. I understand you are in McLean and people will be willing to pay more, but it's borderline cost-prohibitive. Just my 2 cents. Overall very nice spot in McLean! read more

What a lovely place! It is so inviting and beautifully decorated. I have fully enjoyed their Boba tea's along with their delicious deserts! My favorites are the Pavlova and Strawberry Cheesecake on a stick. Their new seasonal deserts are delicious as well. I look forward to trying their High Tea experience. Their service is outstanding as well! I highly recommend a visit! read more

Beautiful interior with lovely art and friendly staff. I was drawn in by the story of the family effort and their commitment to both art and tea. I so badly wish tea houses were more common-- who doesn't love an excuse to get dressed up and go out to a fancy tea service with the gals? But I understand the business model is tricky-- thus why so many high teas are at hotels-- and was therefore intrigued by the concept of this place as tea room/restaurant/cafe. Take this review with the caveat that this is still a very new spot. Things are bound to change as they get into the groove of things. Ambiance: Comfortable, cute, artsy. Love the place settings, love the paintings. I would nix the random TV playing Netflix movies on one wall, and replace it with...art. The TV distracts from the tea, the company, and the food, and it cheapens the vibe. Service: Nice but awkward. Staff are friendly and helpful, but they often seem like they aren't sure what to do and things are timed oddly. I was hoping the tea somm could elucidate what made the teas chosen for the menu special, because we love tea and there are a lot of options, and she did eventually make some recommendations with prompting, but some of her explanation of the menu was more on the order of 'this is your basic Earl grey'. I do love basic Earl grey in the mornings with breakfast, sure, but I'm dressed up and paying through the nose here-- sell me on it! Food: Unfortunately, the food was...just not good. - Dry scones hit the table before water or drink orders...with no explanation and 3 incomprehensible sauce options. I'd rather just be hungry for a bit and wait until you have time to engage with the customer. It's a high tea-- I'm not showing up starved. The scones themselves were okay but mostly left me confused and dry mouthed. How was lemon curd meant to go with...gochujang aioli, I'm guessing? Have some pride in what you made, and tell us what it is so we can fully appreciate it! There was no cohesion in the dish as presented. First impressions are everything. - The traditional high tea tower: This is going to look fly on your insta reels. It's visually impressive, but the flavors and textures are not so much. - Smoked salmon pinwheel; super soft bread and way too much cream filling. Awkward to eat, and just mush in the mouth. - Pink Earl Grey deviled egg has no discernable flavor. I don't get tea, or deviled egg, I just get boiled egg. - Beef and pineapple mayo salad is served in the world's driest pastry cup. - The fourth savory option was a cold bread roll stuffed with underseasoned mayo-based artichoke salad. It's giving grab n go cellophane-wrapped chicken salad sandwich. Toast up the bread and season that thing and you might have something, though. Overall with the savory dishes the through line is under seasoned, mayo/cream cheese, bland. Sweets - Vegan chocolate truffle was dense and gritty, completely lacking the melt-on-the-tongue silkiness that you expect from a truffle. - Matcha petit four was one of the better items, though it still needs tweaking. The density and balance of sweetness is not quite right. - Density also a bit off in the snickers macaron, and I found the flavors hit a note that was more childish than whimsically childlike. The idea is fun, but the execution didn't hit the mark. - The blueberry leaf was also one of the better items, because there's really an impressive amount of blueberry flavor there, which can be hard to do. Unfortunately the texture was odd? The outside is so soft that it's hard to bring to your mouth without crushing it, and again the mouthfeel is just...all mush, no texture. Tea: By recommendation we tried the two tea offerings that seemed the most unique to ArTea - The family Nomad tea, which unfortunately sounded a lot more interesting than it tasted, because it just tasted like basic black tea with milk - The Q milk oolong, which was intriguing and a lovely surprise, with a unique play of flavors. Best thing we had at ArTea, definitely. I don't regret giving this new place a try. I am so, so eager for a good new tea house in the area...but for the price, I can't recommend this. Not yet, anyway. Maybe if ArTea finds its voice and masters execution better. But for the amount charged for a high tea...the execution needs to be much, much more refined. read more

This was a fabulous spot for a lunch catchup with friends. The decor is fresh and chic and fun - it's light and airy and clean. The menu has lots of choices including vegan and vegetarian. I had the mushroom omelette and it was fabulous and unexpected. A blend of mushrooms and corn and topped with baked, whipped, egg whites. Every dish was gorgeous. Only downside was it was slow, so prepare for a leisurely meal and you're set. read more

We did a tea for Mother's Day and it was amazing! Food was perfect very unique and thoughtful flavors and I like how they had options for GF/DF/V. The service and staff were excellent they were very knowledgeable on every food item and treated us very well. I would absolutely love to go again with friends. The ambience is very cute it has a more modern vibe with cool artwork. read more

We had such a delightful lunch here with Grandma! My daughter loved the spinach waffles and I love that they had so many gluten free options. The tea was delicious, and there were so many great choices I will need to come back and try the others. The art on the walls was so beautiful, we got to meet one of the artists which was also a real treat. The people helping were very kind, the atmosphere was sweet and relaxing. I think this would be a great space to meet for a friendly visit or mellow business lunch, I did not get to check out the mocktails (they have regular cocktails too) or the dessert menu, will look forward to those another time! We highly recommend ArTea as a delight for all the senses. read more

This place is amazing. Their green tea with boba is splendid and I love the options to select my own preference of sweetness. We tried the lemon and strawberry cheesecakes and they were not overly sweet which was perfect for us. The prices are on the higher side, but you are receiving quality ingredients. read more

Absolutely love ArTeA! Beautiful and clean interior, wonderful staff, kind and welcoming owners - an elevated experience to say the least! Their high-quality ingredients and sustainable approaches make for the most delicious and healthy teas and desserts. I recommend the mango sorbet or the coffee gelato, both were so incredible and flavorful, as I was told they make their ice creams fresh every single morning! A lot of vegan and organic options as well. Definitely put this on your must-try list! read more

deserts are appealing to the eye but did not taste good. pretty scenery and good service but the deserts tasted like they've been thawed out and most of the flavors were nasty. i wouldn't recommend coming here, try layered in fairfax instead or something read more

My daughters and I have been eagerly awaiting the opening of this new bubble tea shop in McLean. Happened to check and saw they were open for May's Soft Opening hours. Tried a standard milk tea with boba and was gifted a complimentary mango pastry. Both were delicious. The owner and her husband introduced themselves as well as each of their staff members. Everyone was lovely and the shop felt clean and calming. I walked over, but there's plenty of parking. They offer about a dozen tea choices, and talked about upcoming specialty tea and coffee drinks. There are also several flavors of gelato, sorbet, and frozen yogurt, plus a variety of delicious looking pastries. They spoke about filling a niche for items previously hard to find in McLean, including gluten free items. All natural colors, monk fruit as a healthy sweetener in desserts...they clearly take pride in offering a high end product and I wish them success and plan to return soon. read more
