Fettuccine Carbonara and Braised Short Rib Ravioli

Owner and Chef Remo with his wife Meredith make this dining experience, one to remember. You can't go here expecting to get in and out as you are not rushed, and for good reason. This could be why they are booked weeks out. If you go with a group (as we did of six), It's a family style five course meal. They have a great wine selection or if you prefer, a minimal corking fee to bring your own. Everything we had was remarkable. Definitely one of our favorite local food establishments. Chin Chin!

We were a group of 8, and for 6 of us it was our first time eating here. We have walked through the art district before, and must have missed this gem. This is a house that has been transformed into a funky little restaurant, that is just adorable. I loved all the colors and the decorations. There are different rooms set up with tables and the kitchen is open for all to see. If you wish to bring your own bottle of wine, there is a $9 corkage fee. We weren't planning to drink much, so we just ordered a glass. The pour was not generous, so next time I would definitely bring my own bottle. Since we were a large group, we were served family style. The food never stopped coming out of the kitchen. The first was a caprese salad, along with 4 different kinds of meats. This is the only item that I forget to photo. 3 large plates for all of us was so much food, but everything was so good. Next were 3 different pizzas. Scrumptious! Thin crust, plenty of sauce and great cheese, along with toppings. A large bowl of salad was brought out next, which had lots of ingredients. Just when we thought we were done, out came 3 large bowls of different pastas. One was a short rib ravioli, which was delicious. The next was a spicy pasta with sausage and peppers. Amazing! Lastly was an "angel of light fluffy pasta" in a white pear cheese sauce. Every dish was unique, and all were delicious. The dessert plate put me over the edge! Tiramisu, cannoli's, cookies, scones and pound cake. Our group managed to consume just about everything. This was a great experience, from service to presentation, to quality and taste of food to price. To top it all off, they boxed up everything that we didn't eat so we can continue to enjoy this feast at home.

The food was delicious and very fresh. The woman at the front was very helpful with deciding what we could order. We got there as soon as they opened and they were also helpful with parking, as space is limited. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy.

A fairy tale cottage in the Arts district here in Bradenton. Easy street parking. A husband and wife team creating, baking, cooking, and serving great food. An incredible value. Like visiting a friend's home for dinner. Fresh baked bread (baked bread and other goods available for takeout) homemade sauces (we took home a 16oz container of bolognese - and it was terrific on our ravioli - and fresh ingredients abound. We were seated in a small dining room, all to ourselves, as outside was rained out. We brought our own wine, corkage $9, and had some of theirs as well. Prosciutto di parma on fresh mellon, agnolotti in a vodka sauce, and sausage and spinach ravioli is a light cream sauce all so delicious. On the short list for future visits!!

Eclectic little restaurant located in the art district of Bradenton. It looks like this Restaurant was once a small residential home that had been converted into a small sit down restaurant where you have a limited number of tables scattered about in several small rooms/porch area where various decorations/art adorn the building adding a cool vibe to the business. The great reviews in Yelp are what caught my eye while passing through the area and were enough to tempt me off of I-75 to head into downtown Bradenton to see this business for myself. In hindsight this was one of my better decisions during my trip as we found out for ourselves that all these five star reviews are well deserved. For our Lunch we ended up getting The Penne Tiziana Pasta (Tomato sauce, homemade Burrata, fresh basil), Villlage salad (mixed greens with romaine, arugula, fennel, orange, pine nuts, served with olive oil and orange balsamic) and a Mixed green salad which was included with the pasta dish. All the ingredients were very fresh and the pasta with its tomato sauce was so so good where I can honestly state I have not had a pasta dish this good in a very long time. It seemed like such a basic pasta dish where the flavor was over the top good. A very pleasant surprise. Overall I am a big fan of this restaurant and will be returning in the future the next time I pass through this area. If you are in the area looking for a place to eat than you should definately check this business out as you will not be disappointed. Combine it with a visit to the artistic district to make it an even more memorable event. A big five stars for a small restaurant with big time taste!

Atmosphere - Excellent. Located in the Art District, the experience is like dining at a friend's home! The restaurant is very small, but has a great old world, casual feel to it. There is a garden patio dining area in the front of the restaurant. As you enter the restaurant, there is seating for about 6 people on the enclosed front patio. Inside there is seating for about 16 and a separate dining area that can accommodate about 8. Service - Excellent. The restaurant is a family business and it shows. We were greeted warmly. We were a group of 8 and we never lacked for anything, even though the restaurant was completely full. Food - Excellent. We had the family style dinning service (which I believe is required for parties of 6 or more) and I highly recommend it! I absolutely loved everything that was presented, with the exception of the salad (which for my taste was a little too bitter). The homemade Buffalo Mozzarella on the caprese salad, that was included in the Antipasto "The Big Italian", was excellent. The cold cuts (shipped in from Italy) were excellent as well. Each of the three pizzas served (Margarita, Calabrese and Prosciutto do Parma) were amazing! The pasta? Wow! The short rib ravioli was amazing and the star for me! There two other pasta dishes also were excellent (unfortunately, I can't remember what they were called). Finally, the dessert selection was the topper for the evening. The cannoli, for me, was the best in an awesome selection of incredible desserts. My only true complaint is that the pour for a glass of wine was a little short of what I would expected of a family style restaurant experience. Overall Value - Excellent! Again, my advice would be to gather a small group of friends and do the Family Style service. The portions are plentiful and the food absolutely delicious. Full disclosure, my wife and I love Italian food. We have spent, over the years, nearly 60 days total traveling the Country and enjoying the food. This restaurant serves delicious, authentic Italian dishes. Given the quantity and quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable.

This was a return visit! We liked it a couple of years ago while visiting Bradenton, so we wanted to check it out in 2021! We arrived for an early lunch, at opening time, and had speedy, efficient service. Arte Caffé offers character and a decor ranging from posters to vintage cars to sugar skulls and more - much to enjoy as food is being prepared. There was a game center with a gorgeous wooden chess board for customers to enjoy. A tasty salad was brought as starters to my husband (a side to all sandwiches)! And I enjoyed an organic white wine blend. Both were delicious! I ordered a 4-cheese pizza topped with arugula (amazing) and my husband had a pork tenderloin sandwich with provolone cheese and romaine lettuce. These dishes were so refreshing on a hot summer's day! We topped the meal off with a wonderful chocolate drizzled puff pastry. The chef has brought to Bradenton an authentic Italian cooking style that he learned from his mother, as he was raised in Italy. It was a perfect lunch! We could hear the phone ringing, often, for folks reserving spots for future dinner reservations! Word is out! Arte Caffé offers authentic Italian homestyle cooking!

Started out as a place to meet a friend for coffee and a snack. Now, we meet for lunch in this cute little place in the village of the arts. Tasty sandwiches, amazing antipasto and good espresso is what keeps brining us back. Friend had a pizza last time we were here and so has to go back and try one as it looked excellent and I'm picky about my pizza. Great service and a cute little inviting space makes for a very civilized lunch with friends. Go treat yourself and enjoy an afternoon here. read more

I just returned to the Arte cafe in Bradenton Florida. That makes it 4 times in 8 days. I love traditional Italian food and that what you get when you go there. My wife had the gnocchi they don't get any better... soft and light perfect contrast of potato and flour. She had them with the meat sauce I had them the other day with the tomato sauce. I had the imported Salami with Fontina cheese with arugula on focaccia bread. Homemade bread is what they serve there and is amazing. You will love it. read more

Believing in giving everyone a second chance, after experiencing horribly slow service on my first visit I tried again. This time there was only one other table with customers. We ordered and waited a full hour before receiving two deli cold sandwiches. The food is fine, but not worth an hour of my time. I like supporting local businesses but won't be going here again. read more

Hands down the best Italian cuisine around. The chef and his workers are incredibly passionate. They provide all home cooked dishes with imported ingredients right from Italy. IF I could give them 10 Stars I would ! Had the most incredible dining experience. First the restaurant is charming and quaint ,we were greeted by the owner Remo ,he was so welcoming !!! The food was superb. Home made bread ,Lasagna & Gnocchi favors were incredible. It just got better when Remo's wife Meridith arrived she is the baker and again incredible, the tiramisu ,the scones ,cannoli were the best I have ever had !!! Remo & Meridith are so warm & inviting we enjoyed talking with them and perhaps the highlight was meeting Oliver ,their adorable dog. We felt like family.I have never had a more amazing dining experience. I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu ! Exceptional dining !! You will not be disappointed !!! Enjoyed everything about my experience here. I ordered one of the lunch specials. Stuffed ravioli with a side green salad. The dressing on the salad was delicious. It complemented the greens well. Very tasty. Those ravioli! Incredible. Such bold flavors in such a pale looking dish. When I first saw the dish it lacked a bit of color, but that first bite made up for any lack of visual appeal---it was like butter. Melted in my mouth. Such simplicity- yet layers of flavor. Side note: I really like garlic- so I was pleased with whole garlic cloves in the dish. If you're not a garlic fan- you can easily avoid them. The environment was fun and friendly. So glad I stopped in for lunch. read more

Without question some of the best, freshest Italian food around. The spare rib ravioli is full of pulled short rib and the meat sauce was a great finish. Pizza and salads were also delicious and fresh. We go every time we're in the area. read more

We stopped here on our way to the airport with very limited time. We had the most amazing scone and I wish I could have stayed for lunch. We saw a family being served a pizza that looked so delicious I wanted to distract them and grab a piece!This will be a priority on our next trip down to that area! read more

Just had a memorable meal with friends. An absolutely delicious 5 course meal. From freshly baked bread to an authentic Italian antipasto tray which began our meal. Next was a crisp salad.Then we were served two different types of pizza followed by three types of pasta. I especially liked the ravioli with mushrooms in a cream sauce. ( melted in our mouths). Finally a variety of homemade desserts topped off our meal. The tiramisu and cranberry-white chocolate scones were favorites in our party. We will definitely make this restaurant a tradition each year when we visit this area. read more

This is the most adorable place to eat. It had great Italian food and a kitschy atmosphere. This restaurant is in an old house in the village of the Arts in Bradenton, Florida. There are tables inside and out. We chose outside because it was actually cooler outside. We had this amazing eggplant appetizer! It was a special so if you have the opportunity get it! I ordered the gnocchi in a red sauce and it was so amazing! It had this cream like liquid drizzle on top and it was delicious! We didn't have room for dessert but it looked like they had some good ones to choose from. read more

Oh my WOW! This place is amazing! The most authentic Italian I think we have ever had! The pasta just melted in our mouths. Servings were more than generous and unbelievably delish! The restaurant is owned by a couple out of an old home (literally, the single restroom has a bathtub in it). He cooks using the recipes he grew up on that his Mom made from scratch; she is the face to the customers... the only server. Both are super sweet, friendly and welcoming! I can't believe a little gem like this even exists - and so reasonably priced! It is a MUST when you are in the Sarasota-Bradenton area (or if you live here)! (They even accommodated my food allergies!) Its like going to Grandma's house for dinner (if Grandma was from Italy)! read more

Wonderful meal in village of the arts. Our party of 8 were served family style which we all enjoyed. Antipasto, pizza, salad, ravioli, spaghetti with meat sauce, chicken marsala were all very good. Pricing is very reasonable. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. There is a $5.00 corking fee if you bring your own wine. They do sell wine and beer by the glass. We were here on a saturday night and the restaurant was full. Service was very slow because there was only one server to handle every table. Our only complaint is that its rather hot in the restaurant. Not sure if the air conditioning was not working. read more

Just had lunch at this eclectic little restaurant located in the arts district in downtown Bradenton. Being from New Jersey, I have eaten some of the most amazing Italian food and this place ranks right up there with the best. I had a penne pasta dish prepared with tuna in a puttanesca style sauce that was delicious and my husband had their pizza. We normally do not get pizza in Florida because it just isn't very good, but again this was perfect. The crust was light and the sauce was delicious. Prices were extremely reasonable. Reservations are recommended for dinner as this is a small venue. For parties of 6 or more they will do a family style dinner that is a sampling of various menu items. Sounds fantastic! A must see in this area! read more

The perfect restaurant to go to when you miss Mama's homemade pastas, pizzas, and all those delicious real Italian dishes. Every morsel of food here is delectable. I have enjoyed several lunches here with my book club, friends, and alone. The family dinner for 6+ diners is reminiscent of Sunday dinners with the family. Last night, 8 of us, 4 couples, were treated to the most delicious homemade Italian dinner I have experienced since one I attended 30 years ago in one of San Francisco's North Beach great Italian restaurants. Five courses of perfectly seasoned Italian dishes, including an authentic antipasta, seafood pizza, short-ribs ravioli, gnocchi ala pesto, tiramisu plus many other pizza, pasta, dessert platters. And, each couple brought their own bottle of their favorite vino. And the price? --well, let's say that each of us has had more expensive lunches at some of Bradenton, Sarasota, Longboat Key restaurants. And the ambience is delightful--a colorful, intimate, whimsical cottage in Bradenton's great secret treasure--The Village of the Arts. And last--the final secret of this perfect evening--our waitress Shannon, and the owners Remo and Meridith Mombelli. Meredith is the perfect hostess and wonderful baker and Remo is the genius chef and passionate raconteur. A perfect evening! read more

I got take out and it was ready when I got there. Very friendly staff and great prices. It's a really super cute environment as well. I would like to go back again when I have time to hang out. Parking is rough though. That's the only down side. read more

Most amazing food and personal touch we've ever experienced. - Our son is going to Italy for the first time and Remo and Meridith gave him excellent suggestions for places to visit. They spent their personality time to tell us about the old country and what to expect. My son. Said it perfectly, it was being like a guest at your best friends house. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. But....oh.my.word....the star of the show is the Antipasto. Just try it. The meats are incredible but the presentation was the real surprise. Adorable restaurant with great food and service. The restaurant appeared to be a converted older house with multiple dining rooms and plenty of outside seating as well. The homemade mozeralla and tomatoes in the caprese salad were delicious and our whole meal was spot on. read more

Had a wonderful pasta dish with yumbo 'house made' meat sauce! Then enjoyed a most delicious Tiramisu (great job Meridith!) one of the best we ever tasted. On another visit, had take-out: delish Minestrone Soup, LASAGNA w/meat sauce, wonderful focaccia and smaller loaf of bread... All great! Picked up some incredible EVOO, imported from Italy... Intense olive flavor!! Also good... 'house-made' Pizzelles & other baked goods. Chef Remo and his wife Meridith are delightful and... One of my new favorite spots in Bradenton. I crave meredith's scones and Remo's pizza all the time. There's something about the crust that makes that pizza spectacular! The tiramisu is one of the best I've ever had. I've also split the Big Italiano with my husband and it was delicious. The atmosphere is very inviting. Chef Remo always comes out to talk to us. Prices are very reasonable for such authentic, homemade food. Feels like a second home! read more

We first stopped by just before Thanksgiving and they were going through start up pains. Waiting on the pizza oven, but still baking some amazing bread. Today we stopped by for our first proper meal and were impressed. After a short wait Zina brought a basket of wonderful bread. I asked for olive oil and I'm glad I did. Bursting with freshness, very mild pepper finish, the oil was wonderful. We then shared the bresaola appetizer. Very fresh, and generous. But then our prosciutto, arugula and parmesan pizza came! I have no idea how Remo achieves that crust, but it is magical. Paper thin in the center, still with crunch and great flavor. All the toppings and ingredients we had were seriously high quality. No license yet but you can BYO with no corkage. I want to try some of the pasta next. Arte Caffe is a keeper. read more

We tried Arte after seeing it featured on channel 7 news and reading various reviews. We were not dissapointed. If you are looking for an intimate Italian food spot in the Villiage of the Arts, Arte is it. We had the lasagna and it was a huge portion of some of the best I've ever had. Fresh Baked bread, and the antipasti is truly amazing. We are looking forward to coming back to this place very soon. read more

This place is in the hidden little place of the village of the arts in Bradenton Florida. The food is FANTASTIC!! We had the specials and they tasted like homemade but elevated. My dad had the gnocchi with meat sauce and the portion was huge! I had the spinach agnolotti with vodka sauce. That sauce was so good that I drank the leftover sauce when no one was looking. Arte is the real deal! Delightful Italian cuisine, we had the Lasagna, the crab ravioli, and ravioli is vodka sauce, all beyond expectations. Mistakes and missteps are bound to happen here and there. Such was the case during my last visit to Carrabba's. My mother and I had lunch at Carrabba's Italian Grill in Bradenton yesterday and there were a couple of different issues we had over the course of our meal. Although there were errors during our experience--both by the kitchen and service staff--the team was quick to address the issues accordingly and completely rectified the situation--even going as far as to comp one of our meals as well as a couple of other things from our bill. We were both taken by surprise as such considerations are entirely rare in these kinds of situations, at least in my own experience, anyway. What an incredible example of how things going awry can turn into an opportunity to shine and show the guest they absolute matter. Kudos to the Carrabba's family for exemplifying truly excellent customer service. Thanks for all your hospitality!

So this is the deal. Food GREAT. REALLY GREAT. Service. Not so much. We went in on Tuesday and we're told....multiple times... how lucky (and others) that we came in and they weren't booked up, only since it was after the holidays. The owner seemed sad and tired. Definitely not at ALL appreciative that we were there...even told me to hold on, she'll be with me when she could, when trying to order another round of drinks (that were empty twice) while she was whiting out her schedule board for future reservations. I've been in the restaurant business and currently own and operate multiple businesses ...but this experience shows me that we are ALWAYS on stage...even when we do not want to be. I hope she gets a rest and a refresh on service because they have a lot of potential but not if they can't show more value to the people paying their bills in this small business climate. My family and I come to longboat key every summer, and this was our first time trying arte cafe. Everything was absolutely delicious! We started with the Bianca pizza - so good. For our main course we had pesto gnocchi, crab ravioli, short rib ravioli, and penne tiziana. After we finished with the tiramisu. Words cannot even begin to explain how amazing the food here is. All of the deli meat and cheese is shipped directly from Italy, and it tastes amazing. Chef Remo is one of the nicest restaurant owners I have ever met, and he always makes everyone who walks in the door feel like they are at home. His wife Meredith makes the best homemade almond biscotti! You have to try it. I highly recommend this adorable and unique Italian deli and bakery and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. read more
