Featuring cakes by Hiatus Cheesecake and Ice cream by Cajou Creamery (both DELICIOUS)! Nichole is such a sweet and lively person! Our wood sign class was well organized, with lots of materials and colors to choose from! We had glitter,a variety of paints and multiple wood sign options. Definitely a great class and good value! Outside of the class, the storefront is so nice and features beautiful woodwork, and custom tumblers, signs and local art/goods. This is such an intentionally designed spot and I would love to do another workshop here!

When they open the physical space back up, you should quickly reserve a workshop to paint a wood sign. I had my bestie join me on my birthday and had such a great experience, wonderful instructors, quality materials, friendly staff and a beautiful store to craft in. Loved my finished product. I recently saw that they were offering a 1 hour online workshop with a guest speaker/ coach. The topic was about rest not being a luxury. With everything going on today, it was timely and on point. The coach dropped some gems during the first half, we were then able to ask questions via chat. After that, we started painting our signs with live follow the leader step by step instructions. The sign came in a nicely prepared box wrapped in lovely paper and was pre-stained. Also included were pots of paints of your chosen colors, a stencil transfer, paint brush, wooden flowers, small sponges for dabbing the paint on, and two recipes (face mask and a cocktail). The class was well moderated. The owner was streaming live from her home workshop with a really cool backdrop. This was well put together!!! My end product was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Looking forward to more workshops.

The evening started with light refreshment in the Level 1 lobby. Then, we went into the Graham Auditorium to hear Kate's vision for the future. It was really interesting. We were then encouraged to visit three floors of the museums that were open. There we could experience hands on explorations, conversations with curators, behind-the-scenes stories from conservators, sneak peak at new and returning exhibitions, and learn about volunteers programs. Being a member of The Walters really has so many benefits. On each floor, they also were serving more refreshments. We were excited to be able to see the Douriean Fletcher: Jewelry of the Afrofuture. It will be on exhibit until August 9, 2026. What an exhibition this is! We were so excited that we were able to view this without any crowds. What an incredible artist Dourien Fletcher is! Her work is just stunning. It was interesting to see the breath of her work in jewelry, costumes, film, etc. You will see simple to elaborate pieces of jewelry and so much more. Don't miss what she made for the movies Black Panther (2018) and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).

Me, I like reading up on whatever catches my attention. It was fun to read that a certain lady's head did not belong to the body it originally arrived at the museum with. Regarding another collection, I read that the artists would inscribe their names and certain references, which weren't necessarily correct! And a piece of aged donated gold was discovered to have been crafted more recently due to its popularity amidst its lack of supply, as the wire had evidence of having been extruded, and the holes were cut with scissors. Yup, don't just go around believing everything! We spent perhaps 2 1/2 hours meandering the halls. If you get peckish, they do have a snack counter where their sandwiches and wraps top out at $13.

Booking the class was pretty easy online and they even offer discounts at check out so don't let the sticker price scare you! The only thing that bothered me was that the paintings don't offer a level of difficulty, I chose a picture for my party who hadn't done a painting before and it was a doozy! The atmosphere was really nice, a tight fit but completely do-able and made it more interactive (juggling a drink, a pallet, and brush!) The instructor was fast and for good reason this picture is hard! He was projective and fun. I wish he has a microphone head set and maybe up higher for us all to see what he was doing better. He moved fast, there was a lot to do in two hours. Overall I enjoyed my experience. Things I wish the instructor reminder us: to paint the edges of our pictures, sign it, and its ok to do things out of he box. He was supportive but had a lot to cover, a rating on the website might help beginners not take a huge jump to try this piece.

Different strokes for different folks..! Pub and Paint is absolutely amazingggg! My friends and I were feeling spontaneous and booked a paint night less than 12 hrs prior. There were available spots on a Monday at The Chesapeake Restaurant so we purchased tickets. The ticket included the canvas, the paint and all the subsequent supplies. This was our very first paint night - ever. I don't speak for others, but I am no Picasso or Van Gogh. Despite my lack of artistic talent, I was pretty excited. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the start time to take advantage of the Happy Hour deals (beer on a Monday, don't judge me!). Food was delicious, beer was even better. Brady, the instructor, was quite friendly and helpful. He was very instructive, encouraging and definitely created a fun and comfortable environment. The class was from 7 - 10 pm and time always flies when you're having fun and constantly having your beer refilled! I would definitely recommend Pub and Paint. This was an exceptional experience and I would do this again soon! Experiences like these remind me just how much I love living in Baltimore!
