Do not take your jewelry here! They will damage your jewelry and then refuse to fix it…read more I came in to have two rings quoted, 1 for repair and 1 to have the stones placed in another setting. These rings are very special to us, one is the promise ring I gave my fiancé 12 years ago and the other is her engagement ring. I spoke with Barbara, I explained to her that the engagement ring had a small diamond on the side missing. She asked me multiple times where I got the ring and the age of the ring. I was a little uncomfortable to admit I had bought it from a pawn shop, so I didn't know the answers...I know, probably not the best place, but my fiancé loves the ring and had no complaints, but thanks for making me feel like a bum Barbara. Barbara explained they needed to hold the rings for a few days to get an official quote. I thought this was odd, I had been to a few places that same day and received quotes without holding onto the rings. A few days pass and I didn't receive a call so I thought to call in and check. I spoke with Barbara again, she explained that she had some personal problems that were taking up time in her life and she didn't have the quote yet. I explained I just needed the rings back my fiancé was uncomfortable without them for this long and maybe she could send me a quote later. She put together a number very quickly that was 3 times over the other quotes I had received. I told her I wasn't interested and that I would be by to pick up the rings. She explained that while they were cleaning one of the rings a very small diamond fell out. This was the exact reason I was having the ring quoted and had explained that to her. Okay, no problem accidents happen, thinking of course they would fix it, why would I be burdened by their mistake. I didn't ask for the ring to be cleaned so of course I would not have to pay to have it repaired. We had the ring cleaned at our local Fred Meyers, they had the same issue happen and fixed the ring at no cost to us, so this is what I expected from a much higher end jewelry store . The cleaning wasn't something I experienced with the other quotes so I found it odd they had cleaned them without my permission in the first place. I go down to pick up my rings, I receive two bags, 1 with a ring and the other with a ring and a small piece of paper containing a diamond. What am I supposed to do with this? I can't take it back to my fiancé like this, I wouldn't survive. Barbara wasn't available so I told them I would like to leave the ring until it has been repaired to the condition I left it in. This was on a Friday, so of course I would have to wait until Tuesday when they are back open. Tuesday comes, this is now over a week and my fiancé was hesitant on giving the rings for a day! I get a call from Robert. He tells me the ring has a design flaw and the diamond was going to fall out anyway! Well, no duh, that's why I brought it to have it quoted. I didn't expect it to be further damaged, I was trying to stop the damages. We have a heated conversation because I feel they should fix the diamond and apologize for damaging it and performing tasks I didn't ask for. He is now refusing to fix the ring, even though I never asked to have it cleaned, but because I'm being unreasonable after he provided the same sob story about a their personal life. I now have to tell my fiancé, which puts me in dog house, and I have to find someone else to repair it. My fiancé will have to go another week or so without her ring all because this business is having personal problems? I understand things happens and makes life difficult, but why are you taking that out on your customers? I think this could have been avoided by simply repairing the ring without me having to ask and argue. This feel like a very bad business to work with and would never recommend them to anyone.

I scored a good deal on Groupon, picked up a bottle of wine, and we headed to the studio on a Friday night. We got to use the airbrush and even spray paint on our master pieces this time. And, as always, Alex made the night fun, engaging, and creative, and we all ended up with a great painting of happy little trees to take home and brag about. Now, can I remember everything we did? Paint, scavenger hunt, paint, view a couple short videos of Alex's work (amazing), paint, roof view of Boise and foothills, paint, and adding a layer to the splatter paint room. Bring plenty of wine because it's going to be a long, fun evening.

The studio is awesome, but it was Alex & Mandy that made the night so much fun! The hours went by so fast, w/ drying times occupied by a scavenger hunt, adding our mark to the group paintings and a beer break. The evening ended w/ Alex's surprise piano solo! Though my husband had a bit of painting experience, my daughter & I hadn't ever done a painting. We were so surprised that we could end up with a real painting that we liked enough to display! We had so much fun and even my husband said he'd want to do it again! That is the ultimate endorsement!

Luckily, I rarely forget experiences...especially one like my first experience blowing glass. What an INCREDIBLE time we all had here. Like so many who have recently wanted to try this...I watched Blown Away on Netflix. For the record tho...ever since I was a kid and we went on a field trip to the Corning Museum of Glass I have ALWAYS wanted to get into glass blowing. I think I could actually create some beautiful pieces IF I actually jumped in and started doing it. I've wanted for years to do it. So when you have a passion like that...I feel like you give it your all and then some. This past Winter I finally tried. We just made drinking glasses. Which is fine. It was a good start. Oh, when I started watching Blown Away, that show helped me confirm that I have waited long enough to try this haha. So a group of us went. There's 5 of us in our little circle of close friends. That made it extra special for me: Ok! The studio is very well laid out. Displays are absolutely beautiful. There is plenty to look at whether you are there to shop or you're there waiting for your class to begin. Look at all of it. It's all so inspiring. People create those pieces! Which just makes me think even more how amazing humans are! The people who work up front, incredibly nice. This place is run beautifully. The layout is next level, cleanliness...again, next level. The Hot Shop is great. Totally different than I was expecting. You see them on Blown Away, online, other various studios and you kinda expect them to be these hot boxes lol. This one is very open, not hot at all. I dressed in all kinds of booty shorts, tank bc I have neuropathy and heat makes the pain ...super intense. Even when I stood at the glory hole turning the rod (lol) to set in the colors and shape the piece, my neuropathy didn't bother me at all. Now, I'm sure if you were there for awhile, making bigger pieces, etc that you'd break a sweat. All of us tho stayed relatively dry for the duration of our class time. Wonderful experience. I still can't get over HOW. MUCH. FUN. THIS. WAS!! Josh was our instructor. What an amazing guy. I feel like we really lucked out getting him as our instructor. Super chill, easy to talk to, he wasn't judgey at all for all us 100% amateurs haha. Just an all around great guy. I kinda had a low key crush on him haha! He has this incredible beard too. Made me jealous. I can't grow one like that haha Anyway! Josh has been doing this a long time. Works at 2 studios here in Boise/Garden City area. VERY knowledgeable. Explains the process absolutely perfectly. It's always fun for me to see someone like Josh and love what he does. It's very obvious how much he enjoys what he does and I believe that added to the amazing time we had there. The pricing...well, I leave that up to yall to look up haha. It's glass blowing ffs lol, so expect to pay. Maybe that's why I haven't started it ... yet. It's an experience hobby. I hate calling it a hobby tho especially bc I'd like to get into and have it more than just a hobby. It's one of those experiences I've always wanted to try, finally did, and felt pure joy in my soul. It just made me so happy. I'm sure when/if you try it..you'll feel the same way. There's nothing like it. And even tho we just did drinking glasses, I look at my piece and think....damn! I created this! Green and brown are my favorite colors..:especially together. My piece was darker than the others. They give you a selection to choose from. They're nice choices, but I wanted to create my own with my own colors and own swirling type design. So much fun! I could go on, but I know Yelp is gonna cut me off. If you have ever thought about doing this....why keep putting it off? I put it off for decades! Literal decades. One of the biggest mistakes. Seriously can't wait to go again! Thanks for reading, Yelp'rBlowers! Cheers!

Our interior designer stepped in, when I found myself completely 'out of gas' after selecting the prints for her to source, to recommend Finer Frames to do the work because she knew they did great work and with good turnaround times too. Right on all counts! We have a lot of custom framed art in our home, collected by working with framing galleries over the last 40 years as we moved around, and so I very much appreciated that the gallery owner, Meg, who was also the framer for our prints approached it with the eye of an artist, which she also is. Her frame stock recommendation resulted in the perfect choice. The work was expertly done and the turnaround time was excellent too. We have used a couple of other framing galleries in the area over the last seven years, we have been happy with both businesses for their strengths but also knowing their weaknesses we chose one or the other depending on the project. But Finer Frames will now be our one and only choice going forward for any project. VIBE: If you're like my husband and me who love both galleries and looking at framing materials, this will be a veritable candy land of options to consider. Also, the vibe inside was all "chillax" with jazz on the sound system and ample space in between items to look about. I said, and I'm not kidding, that depending on time of day I'd like to linger with cup of coffee or glass of wine in hand and soak it all in for an extended time. LOCATION: Downtown Eagle located and while parking there can be difficult, Finer has the advantage of their own small parking lot. ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking (van access compliant) spot right outside the side entry door which is level into the all one one floor space with ample room to maneuver. As a customer with multiple sclerosis, which I've had since college years, I notice when a business does a good job of making it accessible like this. PS: The happy PS to the art being framed is that the man who Meg and our designer both recommended to hang it did a top notch job too. See review for Precision Artwork Installation (owner Russ Linn).
