Fun framing suggestions, helped me create something beautiful that I will enjoy for years. 3rd project was a pencil drawing I did 20 years ago -- I'm not an artist, but it was pretty and valuable enough to keep for a long time. At the top of the sheet of lovely archival paper was a remnant of the glue from taking the page out of the tablet. This was a fun detail that added dimension. When I went to pick up the framed piece, the person said, "oh I cut off that glue at the top so it would look cleaner". I was shocked. I always appreciate a suggestion for improving something but a) if you are going to CUT OUT a part of a work you have been asked to frame ASK FIRST and b) I liked the original version pre-cut. I asked if they had a gallery where I could see different print surfaces, and he suggested setting up an appointment. We scheduled it for the next morning, and he asked me to upload my image ahead of time so he could confirm it would hold up at the size I wanted. When I arrived at the studio the next day, what stood out immediately was how professional and well run the space felt. From the desk area to the open floor with their large-format printers, everything was organized and spotless, almost like a lab. It was clear there's a disciplined process behind the scenes, paired with a real creative eye. My instinct was to trust their workflow rather than try to micromanage the process--and that instinct paid off. Michael had already printed a sample of my image on the high-quality canvas I was considering, and it looked fantastic. He confirmed the file would scale beautifully, and we talked through edge mounting so the final piece would feel more polished and professional. I mentioned I was hoping to have it sooner rather than later, and while he estimated five to seven days, I was perfectly fine with that. To my surprise, I received an email just three days later saying it was ready. When I came back to pick it up, Derek helped me. Like Michael, he was friendly and detail-oriented, and he insisted we unwrap the piece together so I could see it before leaving. It looked incredible--the print quality, color accuracy, canvas stock, and stretch across the frame were all spot on. He even helped carry it out and load it into my car. I couldn't be more satisfied with both the final print and the people behind it. Impact Visual Arts is now my go-to print house for anything I produce in the future, and I recommend them without hesitation.
