Perfect place for a bridal shower or bachelorette party in Kansas City. It's something unique and fun your guests will remember! Even if you have no artistic skills, your painting will be beautiful. The instructors are very patient and good at explaining details and even helping you with your canvas if you want it. Location is perfect in the Crossroads Arts District and very convenient to downtown with free parking. The space is beautiful, bright, and will inspire you creatively. You don't have to be having a "party" to paint here. Their studio is open on Thursday nights for individual reservations too. They're starting to add more painting options and I believe if you're reserving a group, you can send them an example of a painting you want them to lead. We booked a painting class for my Dads birthday this month and had SO much fun here. Richard was amazing and made even the most artistically challenged people (like myself) feel like a pro. The atmosphere was super laid back and fun and they plenty of time for wine and snack breaks throughout the session :). Richard also won some bonus points for letting us raincheck on two tickets. We were supposed to have 7 ppl at the class and 2 were unable to attend last minute. We fully intended to eat the ticket prices since they reserved those 2 seats for us, but he was super understanding of the last minute change and put the two tickets back on a giftcard for us without us even asking. We had the best time imaginable!!! Being able to bring your own Food, Wine and Played our own music?! It was phenomenal!!! Threw a surprise Private Party with about 15+ people!! Our Instructor Richard was sooo much fun and kind! The day we scheduled, it happened to be his birthday!! So of course my entire party sang for him!!! We literally loved every minute of it! The Art Experience is definitely a place we will be returning to!! I was searching online for one evening for BYOB painting classes in the Kansas City area and boy am I glad I found Lush and Brush. Just like similar establishments, Lush and Brush offers classes in the evening, however I was thrilled to discover they offered weekend classes too. I have been to other painting classes in the area, but nothing compares to the experience I had at Lush and Brush. The instructors were incredibly engaging and you can tell that they love the work they do. The guidance they provided and the overall experience I had last Saturday was sublime. My boyfriend and I had a great time here. We did a couples piece for Valentine's day. Richard was a very easy-going instructor who offered us lots of tips on how to put our own touch on our painting. We would definitely like to go back and bring some friends. Expect to take the full 3 hours. It's not meant to be in-and-out, but for you to bring some drinks, relax, and have a good time. This is a fabulous local non-corporate business located in the heart of Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District. The owners, Dimitri and Richard were incredibly helpful and it was an amazing time, perfect outing for a Thursday night. Not your typical "drinking and painting" these guys really know how to be patient with their first timers and challenge those who are looking for a truly artistic experience. I can totally see this being a great place for a date night, birthdays, corporate events, young professionals, etc. In fact my roommate and I enjoyed it so much that we have already booked our birthday there. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon after a nice long brunch and it was the perfect day time, weekend activity. We sipped on some wine, painted, chatted with the owners (who are incredibly laid back and talented) and left three hours later happy as could be. The studio is very cool, we actually stayed longer and hung out and took pictures after our session was over. The two guys that run this place make the difference from other byob painting classes that I have been to. It is clear that they love what they are doing and are genuinely interested in getting to know people. We felt incredibly relaxed not only with the atmosphere but also with the teaching style. The instructor let us go our own way and ask for help as we needed it. Overall, it was a wonderful day and I will definitely be going back. read more

I was definitely looking forward to Art Experience, but it was even more enjoyable than I expected. When my husband and I arrived, Richard, the instructor, pointed us to the fridge for our wine and told us to look around the gallery (VERY cool space). When we got started, he showed us the picture we'd be painting and how the process worked. I don't have an artistic bone in my body so I was a little nervous, but Richard really guided participants well through the painting process. He was totally flexible with the colors we wanted and design and helped advise (or in my case. fix) the paintings as needed.
