This is my initial consultation experience with Dr Frank. I have not gone through with my surgery…read moreyet. I called in to make an appointment for a consult and his patient coordinator, Shawna, is nothing but pleasant. She was able go schedule me in two weeks following my phone call. He is located in the same office as Dr Perron on 4th St SW in the same complex as Shoppers Drug Mart. Parking is a bit confusing and difficult as I wasn't able to enter the parkade. The door was closed and didn't open when I drove up to it. I had to resort to street parking. At least I could use my "Text to ParkPlus" account for that. (It could be a real issue if you're in for a longer appointment, though for something like that you'd most likely be getting a ride since you'd be under general anesthesia.) When you walk into the office you meet with Shawna in her office to the left of reception. Dr Perron's staff works up front. Shown a gave me medical questionaire papers to fill out. After I was done I probably waited an extra 15-20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time before I got to meet Dr Frank. He was very pleasant and told me what he would do for my procedure. It was a quick 3 minute consult since my procedure was very minor anyway. Once I was done Shawna called me back into her office. I paid the $80 consult fee (which is subtracted from the cost of the procedure) and booked for the procedure date. The next available date in about 6 weeks' time. Dr Frank is relatively new to the plastic surgery scene so booking in with him isn't a half a year wait yet thankfully. My surgery has been scheduled and I will be updating my experience with that. The pricing is fairly reasonable considering he is a plastic surgeon. I can't wait to be done with it!

Dr. Zakhary is seriously BEYOND amazing and talented!!!…read more My whole life I felt like my nose didn't "fit" my face. I didn't want a barbie nose or any nose that is "trending", yet after looking up countless other Dr's, I found they just made everyone look the same!! You see, I'm Italian and I don't want to lose my "look". I just wanted a smaller, more refined version of what I was born with. After tons of research, reading lots of reviews and seeing many before/after's on Instagram, I decided to put my trust in Dr. Zakhary. I am beyond thankful I did!!! She made me feel totally seen, heard and understood. She knew exactly what I was looking for and explained the process and what to expect, SO well! I even got a 20-page aftercare booklet that not only had what to expect and a vitamin schedule for before & after surgery, it also had about 2 pages of frequently asked questions that I found soo helpful. Even with ALL that, Dr. Zakhary was only a text away if I had any questions! What I also loved about Dr. Zakhary's approach is how in depth she is with the healing process. She will make you keep a nose cast for 2 weeks whereas some other surgeons only do 1 week. Let me tell you...ITS WORTH IT AND ITS FOR A REASON!!! After 1 week, I had some tape come off the tip of my nose. Dr Z got me to come in that night and took everything off, and re-applied the cast. I looked in the mirror and just about fainted. I was sooo swollen and my nose was NO WHERE near able to feel "supported" if we kept the cast off. Fast forward to today (my 2 week follow up) we removed my cast and yeah, I'm a bit swollen but NOTHING I mean NOTHING like at 1 week. Just proves that keeping it on that 1 more week, makes the world of a difference. I love my nose, my husband, my friends...even my parents (who were not the biggest fans of me getting surgery) love it and are all so impressed. I did this surgery for myself, not anyone else. But what I cannot stress enough is GO TO THE RIGHT DOCTOR!!! Don't choose a Dr who wants you to look like a new person. Choose one who will keep you looking like yourself, just a refreshed and refined version! Thank you SO much, Dr. Zakhary...you changed my life and I'm beyond grateful for you!!!

I recently had a rhinoplasty complication that allowed my body to reject the implant that was inserted during my initial rhinoplasty procedure done overseas (in Asia) in June 2019. I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Dr Zakhary and her team! She allowed me to see the light at the end of a very long tunnel.

However, it needs to be monitored, and Dr. Swain is the specialist that I work with. I have always known that he is a very good doctor. However, I did a presentation in November, 2010 when Dr. Swain was appointed the Cal Wenzel Family Foundation Chair in Hepatology, and I really learned how incredible this man`s credentials are. My experience of him as a doctor, is someone who listens, asks questions, is compassionate, knowledgable and is always honest. Over the years, as alternative health options have been cropping up, I have asked him all kinds of questions regarding my treatment, and he has handled my requests with patience and honesty. Further, in the rare occassion where I have had trouble, he has been accessible. He truly does care about the work that he does, and his patients. He always makes time. In addition to taking on patients, Dr. Swain also holds other responsibilities in his field. I have done my best to paraphrase some of his credentials for this review, and I have also included a link to his full credentials as well. - Acting Head for the Division of Gastroenterology, University of Calgary (U of C) and Alberta Health Services (AHS) - Professor of Medicine, Hepatologist and Clinician-Scientist at the U of C. - He has won many awards for teaching and research, including the U of C Watanabe Distinguished Achievement Award for Overall Excellence. - He is currently the Cal Wenzel Family Foundation Chair in Hepatology, and the Head of the Translational Research Core for the Snyder Institute, at the U of C Source: http://www.departmentofmedicine.com/documents/announcements/swain_head_announcement.pdf When I learned in November, 2010 that he is also holds so many other titles and roles within the medical community, I am just further astounded and impressed that he actually has the time to provide the level of care that he does. I feel extremely fortunate. For any patients who are researching Dr. Swain, be advised that if you have been placed under his care, you are a dealing with the cream of the crop. Not only for his credentials, but for his bedside manner as well.
