This used to be my favorite Arsenio's; it's no longer my favorite. Their food has taken a turn for the worst. Here is my breakdown for tonight's awful Mexican fast food. By no means am I a picky eater myself. 1/5 Their hot salsa has this tangy, sour flavor it's not to my liking. 1/5 Chicken Taquitos Wow, how sad! These barely tasted like chicken, and where is the cheddar yellow cheese? Even Costco frozen taquitos is way better, no joke. 1/5 Chicken Burrito This was the worst chicken burrito I've ever had it was so bland, and most of the cheese was not melted all the way, and they used white cheese instead of yellow. I ate about 2/3 and threw it away. Normally I can finish a whole chicken burrito, but this was no bueno. 1/5 Fish Burrito The fish has, like, a sandy taste to it. Maybe they didn't wash it thoroughly, or it has to do with their breading. I'm not too sure if they combine the chipotle mayo with the tartar sauce, but it was lacking and wasn't very good. 5/5 Fountain Sodas was on point, with free refills when you're dining in. 4/5 Service was good. The female cashier was nice and polite, but it took them a little bit longer compared to other Arsenio's franchises. The pricing was fair and competitive but lacks the fast Mexican food umami that I'm craving. I wish this location the very best, and hopefully their new cooks can get it together and succeed. read more

I ordered the beef taco and enchilada. Loved the red enchilada sauce! The taco shell was hard as a rock and there wasn't much meat in the enchilada. Too much cheese and lettuce. If there was less of that it would have been great. read more

My daughter and I were in the mood for tacos. But we ended getting a quesadilla and rolled tacos because they had a much better deal on them than each individual tacos. There was no one in the restaurant but one family who just finished their meal, so we had to ring the bell for service. It took a few minutes before someone came. The lady was kind of rude but I think because she was handling the drive thru too. She was very short with us and didn't greet us or say anything. She was literally there to take food orders and not make any friends...lol. Food took a while to come out, so we just hung out and enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa bar. Once we got our food, the lady started mopping, the smell was so strong that we felt sick. We ended up taking the rest of our food home but ended up tossing it. The cleaning smell was still stuck in our nose and mouth. Definitely won't return! read more

The other night, we were looking for tacos. We usually hit up the truck that parks down the street, but it was gone. What to do? My wife is ok with whatever, but the kids want Mexican still. We find Arsenio's, and I'm like, sure whatever. The kids immediately zero in on the nachos. Wife doesn't want much, just a quesadilla. I think I got the mulita, just because I trip out at seeing them locally after my trip to Mexico some years ago where I first discovered them. Before that trip, they weren't a thing. We take it to go, but while waiting, I see the birria ramen. It sounds as ridiculous as it does intriguing! I don't have immediate plans to try it, but should the opportunity arise, I just might do it. Well low and behold, just 3 days later, we are back. This time it's because the kids want asada fries. On this side of town, there aren't a whole lot of options, and we were just at O'Reilly's getting a new battery for the car, so here we are again. The kids of course get their asada fries and tacos for good measure. I, of course, get the birria Ramen with corn tortillas. Why they come with tortillas is beyond me, but whatev's. Food arrives and the ramen is super hot! Like, 15-20 min later, it's still hot. It's very salty, so just be warned. But if you want to try it, I recommend splitting it with someone else. I couldn't finish it on my own. It is good, but it is possible to have too much of a good thing. If you are the adventurous type, you should definitely give it a try. The food overall, is really pricy. Eating for one, it's fine. But for 6 of us, we spent close to $80. We ate at Olive Garden today, and spent $88 before tip, just to give you a comparison. I saw the register receipt which was correct and stuck the credit card receipt, with no item breakdown, my pocket. I did not expect the totals to be different so I threw the original receipt way. It's a reliable place for Mexican food. They have locations all over Fresno. I usually get a burrito or torta with carne asada. It's pretty satisfying. I've never had a bad experience and they prepare your order very quickly. I like that they offer a salsa bar where you can help yourself to their variety of salsas and condiments. I was shopping in Clovis, and I made an impulsive decision to grab some enchiladas from the Arsenio's Mexican Food restaurant on Shaw Avenue near the Clovis Walmart. The establishment is following the COVID19 guidelines, and masks are required and there is a plastic barrier in place at the cash register. Hand sanitizer is provided for the use of the customer. I ordered the cheese enchilada plate which comes with beans and rice. The plate also comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas. I was concerned about the cheese in the enchiladas, as I am accustomed to enchiladas from my visits to Mexico, which utilize 100% delicious Mexican cheese! I took my food home of course, and I ate at home. The food was hot, and the enchiladas had a red sauce poured over them with some melted American cheese on top. The enchiladas were good, as the red sauce was flavorful. The sauce could have been spicy, but I was given some chunky salsa with chips with my order. The mark of flavorful Mexican cuisine is always noted on the flavor of the rice and beans. That said, the beans were on point, but the rice simply did not measure up! The rice was without flavor, and should have had more condiments added to it to impart flavor. Overall, an adequate dining experience! read more

I won't give them another try. They used to be great but since they replaced the cook things have gone down hill. Not only does their Supreme Breakfast Burrito have no flavor, it has far too much potato in it... I guess that's because potatoes are cheap. Don't waste your money going to this location. If you want to find out what a Good Supreme Breakfast burrito should taste like, then go to the Arsenio's at Blackstone and Herndon. Here is my experience today . Around 11.35 am I walked into the store to get my post work out meal after pumping iron at crunch . I requested a super Burrito with Carnitas . The meat was dry And chewy " like when somebody leave meat of the pan cooking for a while and the outside of it feels like my Adidas Outsole ". The meat had no flavor and I felt I Tasted rice and beans With a fake guacamole the entire time . I m not expecting top notch organic products but for "Tex mex" fast food at least I expect good flavor and not overcooked meat . I could not go back to show them the burrito because I was in the middle of work and it happened that the restaurants was on the way .. This used to be my regular Arsenio's I would order from when I wanted Mexican food. Today is my birthday so I ordered two breakfast burritos to share with my boyfriend. Once received, the burritos were littered with eggshells throughout. Large shells that could not be ignored, despite a safety hazard I was highly disappointed. I called the store and explained the situation, a simple apology would've sufficed, of course a refund was also an option but not my main priority. The woman who answered the phone told me she didn't know what to do about that and hung up the phone on me.
