However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.

We went back to Jiffy Lube and they "fixed" the issue....a few miles later, the engine light went back on. I called Papi's Mobile Mechanic and he suspected it was the recycled oil from Jiffy Lube (we thought she bought new oil!). He came the next day and changed the oil - engine light went off and no further issues. Turns out Jiffy Lube failed to add the full 5 quarts and used recycled oil. But, wait, there's more... Jiffy Lube was being non-responsive re refunding my mom's oil change. My mom reported it to her credit card and the credit card asked for a letter from Papi explaining what he found. Papi signed a letter for the credit card company the same day I asked him. Incredible service, incredible work. He's our mechanic for life.
