In the 6 years we've been members here, we've grown so much in our walk with God both individually and as a family as we have so many opportunities to express our faith. They provide options to volunteer from their homeless showers and breakfast ministries and AWANAs to their Live Drive Through Nativity to name a few. Our dear Pastor Bill, whom we prayed for and waited two years to meet, has truly been an answer to prayer. We're so grateful for his calling to Trinity! God's timing is always perfect. Not long after he and his family arrived, our own family went through a sudden, personal crisis, and his unconditionally loving, persistent responses have proven to us God does hear our prayers. He sent the right person at just the right time for this tough job by loving us through it all! We saw a glimpse of Jesus in Bill's kindness and patience. He continues to check in on us, which is so encouraging. The members of this church also joined with him and we are so much stronger in our faith and love for God and Trinity as a result! Our members span the age gamut and that makes it a joy to be here! The spiritual mentorship program is such a blessing, especially for our kids! They recognize the importance of this biblical teaching (Titus 2). I could go on, but I'll end with this...Trinity Church and Pastor Bill STRIVE to love God and love our neighbors as ourselves. We are changing to be relevant to the needs of our community, however, this is being done without compromising on the scriptures in God's Word. With that said, I highly recommend them!!!

"The Nicest People on Planet Earth"…read more I was looking for a Sunday evening service, and this beautiful Baptist Church fit the bill. Walking into the sanctuary, I was immediately welcomed by numerous Church members. The church style is traditional baptist. I especially enjoyed the traditional hymns. It's a pretty lively congregation; I don't think I've ever heard so many "amens" during a service. (I'm presbyterian, and we're not supposed to talk back to the preacher.) To my astonishment, they even have a traditional choir! I would come here just because of the choir. I was also impressed by the pastor, Bill Bryson. A remarkable speaker-- exciting, well presented, inspirational. His preaching style reminds me of the famous preacher, Charles Stanley. The ushers provided a detailed outline, so one can take notes. I did. I found the church members to be sincere, welcoming, and gracious. Honestly, you cannot be nicer than these people. Many of the men wore suits. That surprised me, but is a classy touch. Next time I'm coming with a suit. That way, I won't look like a newbie. This church was here when I needed them. I am grateful for their kindness.

He knocked on our door, we sat down and chatted. I always have so much questions about God, and pastor bill was so patient to answer every question from the Bible, Over the years I have be able to see the weight loss of pastor bill, the coming and going of church members, the incident of the huge tree collapse, the pandemic, and through it all Mr and Mrs bill Bryson have been faithful, setting the example and providing spiritually for every one. It's a special little church. There is a sort of peace you feel when you enter, like after struggling so hard you finally found it, you found home.

I live in another city and my partner lives on the other side of Livermore from St. Charles. We like going to mass every Sunday together. However, after receiving a less than warm welcome at another church we decided to see if there was a Catholic church nearby that really lived up to the "all are welcome" that many churches promise but not all live up to. I grew up Catholic in a big, "very Catholic" family and find much to appreciate in the community, rituals, spiritual practices and deep theology of the Church. As a gay man, though, I have more than a few friends who ask me why I still go to church when many (especially Christian and Catholic) churches have a history of preaching outright against gay people--not realizing that LGBTQ men, women and young adults are in their parishes (or their parents, friends and relatives are). That can make me very apprehensive when checking out a new church, hesitant and never sure if my full self (and my partner) will be welcomed into the community or not. Right from our first Sunday visit, it was very clear that St. Charles is a welcoming and caring place that puts work into making sure the parish is alive with the loving spirit of Christ and His mission. Thoughtful and well executed music ministry; lively, inspiring and provocative homilies; and friendly parishioners that take the time to say hello or introduce their name. As it says on their parish website: "Our vision statement says that we will welcome all who enter and value the individual. Because we embrace and live this vision, our parishioners cover the entire Christian spectrum from conservative Catholics to what may only be described as progressive, Vatican II Catholics. We even have a surprising number of parishioners who are not even Catholics! We welcome all who enter. We respect all Catholic traditions, though some do it in their own way. We may be a diverse group, but we are united by our faith." Because I don't live in town, I have not had the opportunity to be part of the many other ministries, services, prayer/faith formation or other enriching spiritual and service opportunities the parish staff and volunteers develop. From what I've seen so far, I believe their Pastor when he thanks everyone for coming, proclaiming that their prayer and community are only made more rich by "every member of the Body of Christ who joins" them. Whenever we are in town we make sure our Sunday schedule allows to attend mass at St. Charles.

Although not regular church goers we try to go at least at Christmas and Easter. Our California family goes to St Clare and we have ended up attending Easter services there several times recently. If we lived in the area it would be our church also. St Clare is small. It is informal and welcoming but still maintains a traditional format in the service which is important to us. Easter is a perfect time in the area with trees in full bloom whereas in Minnesota trees are still bare. We have found worship at St Clare to be a rewarding experience.
