The positives: The venue itself is a pleasant banquet hall with a pool downstairs, a full kitchen, and a divided loft upstairs. The banquet room overlooks a beautiful, panoramic view of the water. The room itself is a blank canvas. It can be dressed up or dressed down to suit your needs. This place is a bargain. You do your own catering from their kitchen, which has everything you need, including chaffing dishes. Their fees are a fraction of what other venues charge. And, they provide everything for the set up, except the linens. The negatives. To be fair, there are mot many. The biggest problem is the volunteers who are not always professional. Most of them were very sweet and helpful, and they are apreciated. But there were several times when there were miscommunications which causes needless stress. The worst experience came while we were setting up, and this crabby old bat working the front desk kept yelling at our children. First, she objected to them playing outside. Then she objected to them playing upstairs. Then, when one of them was playing in the hallway, she yelled so loudly, she could be heard throughout the building. I had told her, repeatedly, to not yell at the kids, but to tell me or any of the adults. I never asked her to babysit. I never said not to correct them if she saw them acting badly. But yelling, name calling, insults and threats? I wasn't having it. She discovered that raising her voice at me was a very bad idea. Had it not been for that incident, I would've given this venue a higher rating.

We had a small, intimate wedding of about 50 guests. Because the weather was cold, we had the ceremony and reception indoors and it was just the right amount of space. The buildings are clean and cozy. The caretaker was friendly and helpful. I loved how flexible and accommodating she was. The rental price was very reasonable. Many of our guests complimented the venue and its beauty! There are many ways you can arrange a wedding here, but we had the ceremony in the house in front of huge windows overlooking the deck and lake. There were bedrooms we used for dressing rooms in the back. In the next room was a kitchen with fridge and oven. We used the oven to keep food warm. We had the reception in the next building over, called the "Meadow Room." It was a spacious room with a sink, gas furnace and restrooms just outside. They had plenty of tables and chairs and we were even able to hang decorations from the ceiling. We took most of the professional photos outside in the natural beauty, which was perfect! On the day of, she just took care of directing everything. Occasionally she'd have a couple questions for me (probably because I just left a stack of boxes that had things that needed to be set up) but she just made it all happen.
