An honest review from an employee of two years, for those who are looking to apply and become a member of.
I have become to know many of the members on site and grew very fond of the members. Starting out as security and later maintenance, to then high end management. I did everything at and around the resort, from growing positive reviews to making the general park look than when I started. Pushing for new ideas and projects was my passion. I cared very much about the park and gave it my all, with 50-80hr work weeks, at very bottom low end salary pay and no benefits ever offered. I hoped that as time progressed, the new owners would take recognition of hard work and starlight those that show it. Instead, after countless hours under poor pay and rude, disgusted corporate behavior, and told I would be running two parks, I was let go with no reasoning. Many of the ideas that corporate had wanted to pursue were in sale's best benefits and not the members/resorts best benefit. I have always been told it's all about sales, but wanted to deny that and work alongside them as a team, but instead was proven wrong in the end. I unfortunately have been blackmailed to either delete truthful honest posts that haven't been formed or posted by myself (But by former employees themselves), or the sales management will attempt to ruin all new job opportunities for me, when new jobs call for references to the park.
For seven months as a Resort Manager, I did exactly what I was told, traveled hundreds of miles for training, did weekly meetings, worked as hard as I could, and completing new tasks that never been done before. The reason for termination is "moving a different direction", which is a phrase that is told to every person they fire, given no real reason and blocking all communications. Working there, I gained PTO hours, but when requesting to use them I am told to not request those days and they are frowned upon, (screenshots taken). At many times, I was told by corporate I was doing a great job and they are shocked with how well I am doing. Then right after I would get told the opposite, with no ways of improvement but rude remarks and "I'm better than you" attitude. I have never been written up, or have signed any paperwork that states me being in wrong.
The pros of the job is truly the members, sharing the same frustrations as you because the improvements and remarks that matter are not being addressed or taken seriously. Getting told lies and false information from the sales team and "member services" AKA, upgrades. This caused massive hours of operation staff to debunk and sadly break the news to members, as they were false. The staff that I worked with and built are also the pros, helping and working their tails off at terrible pay as well because "they are grunts", receiving and taking all blame for the information they were not told prior in the pitch.
The cons of the job is honestly corporate management and the sales manager at the resort. Showing no remorse, and always thinking about the sale and money at the end of the day.
This place could be wildly successful and fun to work at, as long as you play fake and do not share your own opinion.
