Mark and Arrowhead Brick Pavers are amazing. Mark is so easy to work with, and his knowledge and expertise is second to none. And the guys who installed out patio and decorated front area worked their rear ends off. Oh, and they are very friendly and fun to talk with. Mark and everyone at Arrowhead Brick Pavers are simply the best.

Mark and his team at Arrowhead did an amazing job from start to finish. Mark came out and worked with us on different designs for our new paver patio and was great about working with our budget. He was extremely patient with answering questions and responding to our emails with design changes. When the work started the team was extremely thorough and took their time explaining all the steps in the process of removing our old cedar deck and preparing and installing our new paver patio. In the end we ended up having a large paver patio installed along with a custom entertainment wall for our family to enjoy evenings outside together watching movies. This company's customer service and attention to detail is outstanding. We are extremely happy with our beautiful new outdoor space!

I needed a both walk and a patio replaced. Sal was very friendly and courteous. He worked with me, and came up with designs that met my needs and budget. His very hard working crew did an excellent quality job. They completed work within the estimated 3 days. I highly recommend their quality work.

    a pergolated patio

We moved into our new home 21 years ago and had Mark install our brick paver patio. All these years later it still looked great but we decided an update was required. Mark came out somehow remembered us and that my wife was pregnant and had the baby during the initial install. He was patient never pushy which is what I liked and remembered about him. We ended up almost doubling the size of the patio and adding a pergola. Marks recommendations were spot on and he being at the house for start up each morning going over exactly what was to transpire that day with his crew made the process seamless. I can say unequivocally that when you decide to have a new patio put in you will do yourself a disservice by not seeing Mark. Consummate professionally and one really great guy!!!

a patio with a table and chairs

We needed to replace a very poorly constructed pergola that was installed at the same time as our paver patio. The pergola posts had heaved badly (popped out of the ground by 6 inches) and in the process ruined the surrounding pavers. The patio also had some sunken spots, and some areas where the edges had sagged due to the previous contractor using sub-par materials. We opted to replace the pergola with a covered pavilion and have the patio repaired, cleaned, and sealed. I could not be happier with this project. I dealt directly with the owner Mark, and he was tremendously responsive during the entire process. I usually expect a reply within 24 hours, and Mark was much quicker than that. Since I had been burned by the previous contractor, I was a high maintenance client, but Mark never made me feel like one. He patiently explained my options, explained the construction methods, and provided several different options. When the work started, I couldn't believe the difference in the quality and attention to detail. For example, where my previous contractor failed to dig the posts beneath the frost line, and then used a substandard amount of concrete, Arrowhead dug footings a full 48" deep and poured a substantial footing so the posts could be fastened using industry standard Simpson ties. The pavilion itself is beautiful. As I watched the construction I was impressed with the carpenters constantly checking for squareness, and the tightness of the construction. The lead carpenter was also very approachable, and spend some time with me talking about options. In fact, I made a change to what I wanted as far as electrical was concerned, and I was accommodated without question. Finally, as an example of what kind of contractor Arrowhead is, I mistakenly got the pavers wet before the sealer dried. Though it was my fault, Mark made sure it was fixed. His crew also fixed my patio stairs without being asked, and without charge. I highly recommend this company.

    Shoddy workmanship. Uneven gaps.

This review is for Arrowhead Brick Pavers in Warrenville, IL. My mom spent over $30,000 to have a large patio done with pavers and natural stone about 3 years ago. The workmanship and customer service was and continues to be poor. Different sections of the patio are settling at different rates. It appears they did not excavate enough or sufficiently tamp the sand/gravel foundation. After 2 winters, adjacent pavers are already vertically offset by up to 1/2". The spacing between stones/pavers is extremely inconsistent, especially along curves but also on the stones set closer to the end of the project (I presume they got lazy or were pressured to work faster). The spacing varies from 0" to over 1", which I think you'll agree is completely unacceptable. Worst of all, one of the planters they made is falling apart. Instead of alternating stones from the adjacent walls in the corners to give it strength, they mitered the stones. As a result of this and what looks to be an insufficient foundation, the walls of the planter are separating. My mom is too nice and has only complained about the planter falling apart. Even so, multiple deadlines/promises to fix it have come and gone with no work done and no communication. Each time my mom has to call back to find out what happened. Each time, they say they are too busy and promise to come back within the next month. If you hire Arrowhead Brick Pavers, watch their workmanship like a hawk and pray for no problems to arise.

Arrowhead did a great job installing several paver walkways and stone accents for us. It was easy working with Jim on the design and on a few minor changes once the work began. His guys worked hard even though it was cold outside. They even repaired some paver work performed by a different contractor 2 years ago. Highly recommend.

If we'd have known our bathroom remodel was going to turn out like it did, we'd have done it…read moreourselves. After having spent over a month in our "new" bathroom, all we can see are the mistakes and items left unfinished. Very early on concerns were raised about the poor installation job done on our tile and we were assured it would be remedied once it was grouted. We knew that would not be true and it was not. After all, how was grouting a bad installation job going to fix it? it isn't, it's just going to make it more permanent. When the installers ran short on our custom ordered tile, we were assured that even though it was going to be installed wrong, the tile seam in the shower corner would be matched up and that we wouldn't notice that it was installed incorrectly. It does not match up and it is very obvious it was installed incorrectly. In fact, it is the most common question asked: "Why did you have them do your new tile wrong? Wasn't it custom ordered?" The installation company came out to look and agreed to "fix" a few issues, but both Mike and the owner commented that we shouldn't look closer. We already had and we knew the tile installation job was chock-full of mistakes we will never unsee. Even the installer that was sent to "fix" the few items out of many, commented that he didn't know why they installed it like they did - confirming it was a bad installation all along. We hired what we thought was a professional to remodel our bathroom including new tile. We waited 10 weeks for custom-order tile only to have it installed very poorly and nobody willing to admit that it was a bad installation job or take responsibility. We're not the only ones that have noticed it. We've had plenty of comments like, "Why is the tile like that?", "Oh, did you do the tile yourself?", or "Did you have it installed like that so it looks old?" Nope, just got duped into paying for a poor installation job. And that's just the tile. To put it as kindly as possible, all-in-all this has been nothing short of a nightmare.

Mike just recently finished a major project in my house, during which he gutted my entire family…read moreroom. I had high expectations for this project, but he quickly exceeded those, offering up ideas for color and design. The project was done in a timely manner, and my family room is now the most stunning room in my house. Highly recommend.

I have been left with a half painted window and unclean job site. I will call that my mistake but it does show the integrity of this company. I wrongfully assumed that spending the amount of money we did came with integrity and customer appreciation. Maybe that's extra. ($70k+) We hired them to put a moderate sized addition off the back of our master bedroom on a ranch house. As soon as I made the final payment I was not able to get anyone out. -we were suppose to get black windows but they installed white. When it was brought up they told me they would paint them and have yet to complete that task. - they never returned to finish cleaning up the job site and fix all the dirt the moved away for the foundation.
