    Chapel in the Pines
    J B P.

We had an incredibly wonderful experience at Arrowhead Acres. We were married at the Chapel in the Pines and had the reception at the Rustic Barn. Dave and Vicki were so helpful from start to finish. We had all the information we needed on the first visit, plus lots of recommendations for other vendors. (We used the caterer they recommended and they were also phenomenal!) They answered emails quickly, were accommodating & friendly, and made the planning process easy. The ceremony setting was charming and woodsy and magnificent. The Rustic Barn area was just what we wanted. Outdoors with a covered roof, next to a roaring campfire, near the animals like donkeys & goats & peacocks & a pig. We fit over a hundred people and a dance floor, and everyone had a blast. Lots of different places to mingle and things to do - there was even horseshoes & volleyball & other games. We had so much fun. (There is also an indoor area for events - we chose the outdoor option) This was also one of the less expensive places we had researched (I originally found it on a message board about *cheap places to get married in mass*) and feel so lucky we found it. It's affordable and totally lovely. Highly recommend.

Don't plan to get a tree here. I checked their website early in the season. Their calendar said they would be selling Christmas trees until Dec. 18, 2022. Just before going to pick up 2 trees on Dec. 16, 2022 I checked their website again. What!!! They had posted that they are closed for the season. I live nearby. They had a huge banner posted along Route 146 saying we have 35,000 trees. I last saw that banner about Dec. 11, 2022. They do not do tree tagging. You just go get your trees when you arrive. So, we have no trees this Christmas. Most other locations do tagging or are already sold out for the season. We used Arrowhead Acres for the last few years. Not anymore!!!

Dave and Vicki, I'm sorry about all the negative comments here. We also had our wedding 10.5.19 at the banquet hall and it was amazing. Everything went smoothly and we couldn't be any happier. Thank you for being so caring and making our day so special. Kat &Tiff

Rollie's Tree Farm - Our 13ft Christmas Tree!

    Rollie's Tree Farm

It's so refreshing to drive right down the street from the city and into a little patch of rural farm loveliness that is also rare in Lowell now. The staff are so friendly and they clearly are enjoying their time making the whole experience one for your family to remember. Sometimes they have hot cocoa available. They encourage you to take your time and take pictures among the trees and are great about bantering and chatting with you as they drive you on the tractors up to the trees. They're also great about letting you know any info on the different types of trees they're have available. Their team of tree cutters will chop down your chosen tree, trim it up if you want, shake off the loose needles, and load it back up onto the tractor to be packaged up nicely in mesh for the ride home. Trees are cash only and prices are more than your average tree lot trees; $10 a foot. BUT! The trees are full, beautifully-shaped (no bald spots!), and they truly last for forever, smell fantastic, and don't lose all their needles within a week. We typically get our tree the first weekend of December and have it up with barely any fallen needles until mid January. Honestly, even if they lasted half the time for the same price, we'd still go to Rollie's because it is such a fun, relaxed experience to tuck away each year for a family memory.

You could find any size of any type of tree you would want! Not only could you search on your own, you could either cut it down or have someone else cut it down for you with a ride to the front where they shake it out and bundle it up for you! $10/ft. Best tree farm. I will miss it dearly

    Riverwind Tree Farm

After years of using some tried and true Christmas tree farms in Massachusetts, we found ourselves…read morein dire straights this year. A friend stumbled across the website for this tree farm and let us in on his secret find. The farm apparently has been around for 20 years though it is new to us. The sign and entrance are not all that visible from the main street and Waze has the location off slightly, but after traveling down the winding drive you're treated to an expansive view of Christmas trees dotting a bucolic farm that abuts stabled horses and broad open fields. The owners are extremely accommodating and quite proud of the variety of trees they grow. Compared to the average tree farm, it does appear that Riverwind has a much broader variety including an interesting Turkish fir tree that is very full and composed of rich, deep green colored needles. My family and I had a lot of fun walking along the various fields including crossing a small river to reach the most remote areas of the farm. The trees are not on top of each other like at other farms and there are a variety of sizes available from as short as 5 feet to his tall is 15 feet. Only tagged trees are available for purchase and the prices weren't cheap but were by and large on par with other tree farms. The sales hut has handmade and manufactured Christmas ornaments. Homemade wreaths and greens are available as well. In addition there was free hot chocolate, hot cider, and cookies for the kids. The staff have all-terrain vehicles available that I think could be used to help haul your tree if you are unable to use the hand wagons they provide. Saws are also supplied if you don't bring your own. The staff provide complementary tree trimming, shaking and netting and will bring your tree to your car. I'm not certain they'll actually secure it to your car though since I had brought my own straps and did it myself. The owners pay close attention to details with the netting being green and red in color as opposed to the standard orange. I almost regret writing this post as I figure the masses will learn of this great farm and we'll be on the hunt again next year for a new Christmas tree source. Finally, there were some ready cut trees available for those who can't find their ideal tree or don't wish to cut their own.

This is a family owned farm and you can tell the moment that you walk on the property, that they take pride in it!! From the seasons greetings, to the saxophone playing Santa, to every staff member filled with Christmas cheer... It is quite literally impossible to walk around without grinning ear to ear :) The Christmas trees are plentiful and very fairly priced @ 65$ for 3-6 foot option. In addition they offer various wreaths, ornaments, as well as many other holiday gift options! Don't worry there are plenty of photo ops for the family, kids, and or pets as you can see from some of my own family photos! This year they have even had a Yetter farm proposal, which can be seen on their Insta. Don't forget to stop at the delicious donut truck for a hot donut and a coffee for the trip home! Let me repeat.. this is our family tradition and will be yours as well, once you've given them a visit!! Happy Holidays

Although the field was closed for cut your own, they had plenty of precut trees. We found one easily. A young guy helped us with the tree, wrote up our sale, marked it, and handed it over to be baled (and extra $2.) We also picked a beautiful wreath from the many they have on display. Inside is a shop with many little items and the area they are making the wreaths. Everyone is helpful and friendly. And they take credit cards! Most tree farms are cash or check only. Quick stop, great selection, comparable prices.
