Arrow changed owners in 2024. The employees are really bad. They barely speak English and you have to keep calling them to get your medicine correct. I had home delivery from them. From a third party and they missed drops or left prescriptions at their leisure in a bright blue envelope. on the ground. One month Arrow tried to accuse me of stealing my sons meds. I switched to Walmart b/c now they do home delivery. They are excellent at it. read more

They've caught contraindicated meds that the folks with the alphabet soup titles should have. Really liked as in past tense. Small pharmacy more caring right? I think they are slipping. I asked for a certain brand medication only that brand has ever worked. The were well familiar with my need for this brand. Last prescription I asked as I always do.. "It's that brand right?" "Well if that what is on your chart then it is." No it was not. When I got home home I opened the bottle it was not the brand I always ask for and get. I tried two days of the one they filled (without telling me that they did not give me the brand I always ask for) They never told me. Did not like the side effects asked them to refund. They did but never did the paperwork so I could fill elsewhere without a problem. Unbeknownst to me that they did not do the paperwork I tried to fill at another pharmacy after my doctor called it on thinking the took care of the paperwork. Other pharmacy said they could not fill the prescription until Arrow did the paperwork. I thought they took care of that. How rude. They knew I could not fill without this paperwork. Someone needs a vacation there or something very disappointed because I never had a problem before. Not to tell a loyal customer that they changed brands on me was just not good. They needed to contact me before filling it and tell me we can not get that brand anymore and allow me to fill the prescription somewhere else. Not after its filled, before. Amazing independent pharmacy located near Columbus Circle. This pharmacy always offers the best discounts in comparison to the large pharmacy chains such as Walgreens and CVS. They have hard-to-find items such as sandal toe separators for those fashionable summer sandals if you're toe webs get hurt. Compression hose can also be found here. These are useful to wear when traveling on planes to prevent getting a clot. I recommend arrow pharmacy when you're in New York City. read more

My father, age 85, has been an Arrow customer for years. In the last two years, his health has deteriorated and he's had several emergency issues (two strokes, gall bladder removal) which have required long hospital stays, adding and changing numerous meds, and working with a large team of doctors, each of whom prescribes something. Stu and his team at Arrow have been outstanding partners in my father's care. From organizing his meds into blister packs to preparing packs with only an hour's notice, their professionalism and compassion are top notch. Something has been off since March/April of 2023. Apparently I am not alone since I just noticed another similar revue on Yelp about this pharmacy. As a stout supporter of small businesses I have been a loyal customer with Arrow Pharmacy for well over 15 years without ever having a problem. Once I had a stomach ache reaction to one brand of meds and I kindly requested a different brand which they complied to with an occasional hiccup. I even offered to pay extra if it meant a loss of revenue for them. Calling in April to ask the status of my script fill I had a contentious conversation. Accusatory and dismissive I was stunned. And I quote the pharmacist telling me "we don't have it and go find yourself another pharmacy" then, Under pressure they filled my prescription with the words " just this one time" at the time I could not imagine what that meant. I have gone to the same doctor, same pharmacy for all these years. Then last week after a visit to my doctor I was told by the pharmacist they no longer carry my meds! Well can you please order? Really? So I tried 3 other pharmacies and as soon as I mentioned my name they told me they could not fill the script! somehow paper work got screwed up which makes it impossible to fill the prescription elsewhere. It's all very sad, perhaps something else is at play but why punish your customers? It's your bread and butter and more important :your reputation!! read more

A friend mentioned I should check Arrow Pharmacy for the covid-vaccine and sooo glad I did. I followed the instructions by registering on their site and called to ask when the appointments would be set. They immediately looked up my information and scheduled my appointment for the same afternoon. When I got to the pharmacy, the staff was very friendly and eager to make the process as smooth as possible. The pharmacist distracted me with small talk so I wouldn't feel the pain of the shot. The guys are the best. This place has a very warm feel to it. I've only been going there for a few months, and they all already know me by name. They went above and beyond for me- my health insurance company consistently screwed up, and it weren't for these guys, I would have been totally screwed. This is my second fave pharmacy after Bowen. They are both old time pre-Duane Reade establishments. Your doctor can call and not be put on a 30 minute hold. These people are crooks. They function as a UPS access pick up point. I got a notification that the package was dropped off there. I went and they said it was a UPS error and they dont have it. I called UPS and they spoke to the pharmacy and they now claimed they "found my package." Next day when i got to pick it up and take package home I open it to a bunch of staples replacing the product I had been expecting in the package. What a headache. If you cant trust people with something simple as holding a package for you, you certainly cant trust them with your medications read more

My neurologist recommended this pharmacy for my migraine medication. I sent information they requested 4 times via fax, phone and email. I wad concerned where my personal information was ending up. Couldn't hardly get anyone to answer the phones. Once they finally confirmed having my paperwork they still procrastinated and took an additional 3 days after I had to put pressure on them for not being professional. The pharmacist told me it would be ship immediately and it was. Second delivery went well. Then I started having side effects of the medications and instructed the pharmacy to place a hold on delivery until I request to release or deliver....well low amd behold they sent me over 20 emails and calls telling me they were going to deliver or I can pick up. They still delivered it. Highway robbery to insure company and/or copay card. I called them and immediately they were apologetic as if they already new what they did was wrong. Listen, it's great to have a Ma and Pop pharmacy around these days. Years ago I walked in there to get something notarized, (yes, they have that service too) And I guess I left my wallet in there. Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call within 24 hours from Stu and the crew. They said, "Hey you left your wallet here!" Now, they didn't have my phone number, so that surprised me. I am happy to say this was my first Manhattan pharmacy. When I moved 30 blocks further from Arrow I tried other reputable pharmacies to which I was specifically referred by trusted doctors and hospitals and, in my experience, Arrow is unparalleled. *Throughout my 3.5yrs as a New Yorker, Arrow has made me feel safe, taken care of, and welcome in this city* I have some involved health concerns, especially for my age; it's a lot to keep track of. Also grew up used to small businesses. Moving to NYC was overwhelming and the wonderful people at Arrow make it manageable. They've even been generous with time and advice as I transition my care upstate in accordance with a move. When I moved into the neighborhood in December 2019 I wanted to find a local pharmacy for my medication needs in order to support the "little guy" over the national chains. Fast forward to May 2022 and I had an experience with the owner or manager that left me speechless. I had been taking a particular medication off label as per my doctor's directions and the dosaging was not standard. Long story short, I had a refill question that was not straight forward and was hoping the pharmacy would have the knowledge to either know what I needed or ask me for more information to get me an answer. This owner / manager came out exasperated and proceeded to belittle me in front of his staff and other customers. After I tried to explain my need for different pill doses he looked at me like I was insane and said "that makes no sense whatsoever" and then proceeded to brush me off. Never mind that he's not a doctor and cannot possibly know the different off label nuances with medication. Never mind that I'm the customer. Very sarcastic and disrespectful. Not what I expected from a local pharmacy. I had one previous experience with this jerk that wasn't nearly as bad as this incident but I could tell he was not a pleasant person. He seems to be a in perpetual state of frustration. I thought choosing local would not only help the smaller guy but also get me better service but I was clearly wrong in this case. Count that as 2 times 5 stars! I've been going to this pharmacy for almost 4 years and I can't stop praising them. The service is impeccable, they are friendly, smiling, personable, knowledgeable and they go out of their way to help you. They even deliver. Several times I run out of my meds and they gave me a few pills for free to survive till Monday. Several times I thought my co-pay was too much, and they checked and rechecked with my insurance , all with a smile and patience (the co-pay was too much and I told them to keep the meds for later, which they did, no frowns or smirks). If you want to feel like a human being, treated like an individual and not some annoying mosquito, if you like when pharmacist remembers you , helps you, advises you, then you will like Arrow pharmacy and all of those that work there. After running to get the door for me, the staff member who assisted me knew immediately what I needed (as I had called), assisted me to be seated, grabbed the replacements and fixed my crutches in all of one minute. I live on 59st and have to pass a CVS in my building to come here and will do it EVERY and ANY time I need a RX filled....This is an old school pharmacy with knowledgeable people behind the cramped counter, as they all move around will the skill of anyone from DWTS and turbo fast service. Don't be fool from it's small appearance they are VERY well stocked and can get you what you need the same day if it's not in stock. While their over the counter selection is small but unique they also have a Notary on staff.....I think everyone is a notary there!!!! Will you get cheap Bounty or Coke there? No but if you want a professional pharmacist who will assist you with anything you need and not have to deal with waiting on the assembly line service of a CVS or DR then go here and support your local businesses. I email my requests - for prescription renewals, for calls to doctors to get prescriptions, for toiletries in the store or ones he will order for me and then, all these items delivered in a timely way. They are always able to order one of my daughters medicines that we can NEVER get anywhere else. It's very hard to find. My daughter has a very rare metabolic disorder and requires medicine that is not easy to find. I'm so glad Arrow pharmacy always gets it to us, and very quickly as well. My own experience is vastly different than the others posted here, and I will never go to Arrow again. I had serious pain issues after surgery, and the narcotic medication I was prescribed is difficult to find. I decided to try Arrow after reading and hearing great recommendations. They took my 'script, told me they could only fill 1/4 of it (a partial), but would order the rest and have it within a day or two. It sounded easier than searching the city, so I agreed. The next day, I was contacted by the pharmacy, telling me that there would be no fulfillment; I was simply told "we aren't going to be getting any more of this medicine," and was dismissed. I was also told they wouldn't order it for me. Eventually, they agreed to refund my co-pay (which was for a full, not partial, script), but their inability to provide the service I expected when I handed them the script now meant I had to take half a day to sort this all out, while in significant pain. First I had to contact my doctor, who in turn had to contact the pharmacy to determine that I had indeed received only a partial. Then I had to take two hours of my day to pick up the new prescription from my doctor, and spent another hour on the phone with my insurance's drug plan so that they would cover the new prescription (most all insurances have restrictions that you can only fill a prescription once every 30 days). Surprisingly, finding a pharmacy that had this medication in stock was easy - I went around the corner from Arrow to the Walgreen's on 57th, and they had it. I am not a fan of companies or people who make a promise, and then dismiss their obligation as easily as the pharmacist at Arrow did. Their methods are either sloppy (nobody bothered to check the availability of the medication until AFTER I had picked up and begun using the medication) or just incompetent. I have never had an experience like this with any other pharmacy; now that I have crossed Arrow off my list, I don't think I will have an experience like this again. read more
