I've been here 4 times and had a different person each time cut my hair and each one did a fantastic job! The workers there are also really chill and have knowledge about what style works and how to make it look really nice. As a student at UNC, I was afraid of letting someone new cut myself hair after having the same stylist for years back home. I love Arrow so much and strongly recommend it anyone looking to get a cleanup and haircut. My friends and I all go here on Mondays and Tuesdays as there is a student discount! I have Jasmine as my hair stylist, and she is super attentive and keeps a log of all the ways she has cut my hair-- I tried to figure out what I wanted and experimented a bit. All the staff members know how to keep a conversation going and make for what can be a boring haircut super fast and engaging. Highly suggest Jasmine to anyone out there! Booking appointment is a must, too! The store strongly sticks to COVID policies and takes your temperature before sitting you down. Parking can be a bit confusing, so I suggest walking here or parking on the Target parking garage on Franklin. read more

Arrow/Pedro Williams has been my go-to barber since I moved to the area in 2015. I first went to the location in Durham, but now I'm often at the CH location since it's a bit less crowded. I always get a great cut, and they offer you a free beer while you wait. I highly recommend any stylist (Simone is great!). Also, if you need a clean up around the ears you can drop in and they'll take care of you for free and quick. read more

Cool interior, quality haircut, great customer service. I was in need of a quick haircut and beard trim after an appointment at a different shop fell through. Arrow was booked up but said they would try to squeeze me in as a walk in. I got there and was immediately welcomed and offered something to drink. Jasmine told me that she had a couple of appointments but would be able to get to me after that. Once I got into the chair Jasmine continued to be super friendly and engaging. She got my haircut and beard trimmed within 20 minutes (full disclosure I'm mostly bald). Jasmine, and by extension Arrow, really helped me out of a jam and the commitment to great customer service is clear. read more

Arrow is somewhat easy to miss on Franklin Street (minus the large red neon sign) and is a newcomer to the barber shop scene in Chapel Hill, but it is well worth a visit. One of the immediate things I noticed was the laid back atmosphere of the venue. I remembered that when it first opened about a month it looked suspiciously like a bar, come to find out it's in fact a barber shop. True to my first instinct, though, I was only half surprised when I was promptly offered a cold beer when I checked in for my appointment. The staff is talkative and friendly, but not intrusive, so if you want a full conversation or complete silence during your haircut, it's up to you. As far as the hair goes, I was not disappointed. Me being half black, I'm always a little hesitant about where I get my haircuts, because I'm worried the barber might be inexperienced cutting my kind of hair. This fear was dashed quickly, however, as I discovered that my barber also had similar hair to mine. She made sure to get all the details right about how I wanted it cut, stopped multiple times to make sure the process was going as I intended, and even though they were closing soon, never seemed impatient to finish the job. Me being a male I can't speak much on the prices, but my total was $18, which is more affordable than most other places in chapel Hill. The only negative I can think of is that they only take reservations, so no walk-ins unless someone who was scheduled happens to cancel. So be sure to call ahead by a few days or even a week to make sure you get a time slot. Overall, I imagine I will be using this shop from now on. I'm a fairly new customer of Arrow after getting multiple recommendations to try them out. I've gone twice now and I'm a customer for life. I wasn't sure what to ask for after having buzzed my own hair for the last 15 years. Both Stacy and Angelica are phenomenal and gave me a perfect fade both times. For someone with thick, curly, unruly hair, these professionals knew exactly what to do and gave me great suggestions and options. The location is super clean, the prices are very reasonable, the staff is all polite and cheerful, you get a free (delicious) beer, reservations are easy to make online, they're timely at your appointment, and they'll even clean up your edges for free anytime. By far the best haircut I have had in the Chapel Hill area. You get a complementary beer (or a few) while you wait and/or while you get your haircut. Angelica is amazing, probably my favorite hairdresser ever. She gave me a great scissor cut but says she actually specializes in fades. She definitely has the talent to run her own barbershop. I didn't have an appointment so I waited for about 15 minutes and they gave me three dollars off because of the way and also gave me an IPAA beer while I was waiting which was awesome and Jasmine did a fantastic job I'm pretty fussy about my hair and she listen to what I wanted and did an absolutely fantastic job and she also saidThat if I needed it trimmed up in between haircuts I could come in and she would do it for free also she put hot shaving cream on my neck and shaved it I was amazed I would recommend this establishment to anyone read more

Having used Arrow plenty of times, she could easily read the notes/history from their other staff members, and do a perfect job. Absolutely book with her if you get the chance. I am new to the area and have a busy work schedule. I was looking for places to get my hair cut and came across Arrow. After looking at the website, I booked an online appointment for about 30 minutes from the time I booked. I rushed over to area and struggled to find parking. After I was able to park about half a mile away from the location, I hustled over the W. Franklin Street. Walking up and down the street, I could not find the shop. I called the store three times with no answer. Eventually I was able to use google maps and locate the store. I arrived 15 minutes late to the appointment, hoping for an understanding employee. Unfortunately, instead I was met by a patronizing and antagonistic member of the Arrow staff who informed me that because I was beyond twenty minutes from my appointment, I would not be able to get my hair cut. I gently pointed out that I was 15 minutes late to the appointment. The employee responded, "We are getting ready to close, and do not have time to do another hair cut today." I explained that I had tried to call them to get assistance with directions three times. The employee's response "Well, we are very busy and are not able to answer the phone during this time." At a glance into the store I saw three employees standing around, and a fourth giving a haircut. At this point, it was obvious I would not be receiving service today, and I was not going to convince the Arrow employee that their poor service, inability to answer the phone, and lack of communication was the reason I was late. Hesitantly, I asked if they were going to charge me a cancellation fee. The Arrow employee answered, "yes, and would you like to schedule another appointment time with us today?" Needless to say, I did not. The poor service and perhaps worse yet the complete lack of insight into their poor service is disturbing. I hope others have a better experience with this place. They will not have a second chance from me. read more
