The Oak Grove apartments in Milwaukie ore get a rating of 1 . When I moved in the first week of…read moreApril 2016 the apartment wasn't ready on the promos date / Nor was my neighbor on the same day .. And yet they charged me $20.00 per drawer due to the fact that there was a few bread crumbs in one of them . The children start swimming at 10:am and they close it around 9:30 pm and the kids that "Will" play under your window ... So enjoy! Oh I found a girl of the age of 5 walking around in the rain and when I found out where she lived , The mother stated that I was implying she was a unfit mother... The kids allow all of there ice cream wrappers and candy to fall where they live , needless to say the floors are paper thin and ya can here your neighbor fart. Kids run free and there parents let them run free . I still have not received my security deposit and it's now 32 days... The management allows all of this to go on and her famous line is this - oh I'll get to it right away... Practising Alkys and had my car in the parking lot and the kids are allowed to hit rocks with a baseball bat in the back parking lot.... The smoking is allowed between floors as they have decks that are 8 ft .... Boy if I were a lawyer !!! The rent is going up and I was paying $950.00 for a hell hole .... I was out of there in 60 days . Smoking Welfare, people who don't watch there kids , let them scream and run free .... 3 boys who enjoy bullying other kids are allowed to do it and management refuses to be of any answer

One of the big things that made me want to move here was the indoor pool. Unfortunately, it's been…read morenearly two years now since they closed it for repairs, and I've never seen anyone working on it. In January they told me it might be ready by spring, but it's now September and looks exactly the same. I think they just wanted me to stop talking and leave. I assume if I ask again this year they'll just kick the can a bit further down the road and hope I move away so the my replacements don't expect the pool should be functional. I've never heard of a pool taking 2 years to get fixed. I think you could build a few new pools in that time. There's a bunch of paper on the windows so you can't look in to see the lack of progress. The paper was falling down so we actually could see, but after 6 or 8 months they finally went in there and put up some new paper so we can't see. Similarly, the staircase on the back of the property that goes down to the river walk, the one right in front of the maintenance storage or whatever...I think it was about a year before they fixed it. Literally. Wooden stairs. I am not particularly handy, yet am confident I could have knocked that out in a weekend or paid a couple guys to do it in an afternoon. But they waited a year with caution tape up on it, looking like a crime scene. What a strange choice to paper up your magnificent indoor pool room and put caution tape over the stairs to a park. It's a very trashy look and they're perfectly fine with that. There's also a clubhouse at the front of the property that no one has been able to use for 5+ years. They closed it for covid and started using it as a storage unit for appliances. I guess management is okay with having a big vacant clubhouse front and center on the property, cobwebs building up in the long-since-drained hot tub. Windows all over the building so you can look in and see the broken refrigerators and washing machines. Local kids have started saying a witch lives there, lol. This summer has been really good with the outdoor pool, but one summer the outdoor pool was closed for a whole month out of the summer. 100 degree days, and absolutely no sense of urgency to get it working. I felt so bad for the kids who live here that summer, what a rip off. As others have said, the trash gets to the point of overflowing every week. The last maintenance request I placed took over 2 weeks before they called me back, but the maintenance guys seem nice so there's that. I really love the property itself and the location, it's such a shame that management is so complacent in mediocrity. I feel bad complaining to the front desk because they just work here and clearly are not empowered to make any changes. Hoping this gets someone's attention who might actually care about having the property live up to its potential. Please fix the indoor pool.

Part I: On Google…read moreMaps reviews, I had posted a promise that I would write a review of this apartment complex where I had lived from 2018-2023 -- kind of as a warning in case someone was considering it as a place to live. It's been over two years since I've moved out and still I am recovering, but I wanted to at least get a head start on this little essay and will come back and expand upon it as I feel up to it. So just consider this a placeholder for future remarks -- of which I have quite a few! To begin, how about a picture of what was directly outside my apartment window when it rained? Also, a shot of the dumpster area. It should never have been allowed to get like that. (Management always seemed to have excuses). I've seen rats nearby. They eventually put out rodent boxes here and there to catch them, I guess. I have many more photos and videos to share. I have lots more to say about this place too. As I get more energy, I will complete this review and be done with it and maybe feel a little lighter having done my part to give an honest accounting of my experience living at this GIGANTIC complex owned by disinterested (except in profit) investors from California (last I knew). Anyway, I hope it will give an idea of what it was like to live there, at least for me and I think for plenty of others, too. Maybe things have gotten better, but I seriously doubt it. You can always take the chance that your time there might be different, but moving in and then moving out takes a toll on one's finances and mind and body. It's not easy, so carefully researching where you want to live next is a very good thing to do. Part II to come!

Ok, yes the place might not be the best but I have to say that all the bad reviews about Ray and…read moreKathy are crazy. Ray has always been very nice and respectful to me. Yes he has a garage area that holds extra items for the apartments and some car stuff but who cares? He might have friends over after he is off work, oh no! Not friends! I also don't judge people based on their appearance so maybe that is why I am not bothered by them. Example of my run in with Ray. Thanksgiving day, I was going to leave my apartment and realized I had a flat tire :-( I was starting to change my tire when Ray drove by on his day off to go to his garage. He came over and asked if I needed help. He changed my tire for me, was nothing but respectful and nice. I personally thought it was extremely nice of him to change my tire for me especially on his day off. Kathy has always been nice to me and worked with me. I was accidentally charged a late fee one time and she instantly apologized and took care of it. Do I think they overcharge for stuff (pet rent and deposit)..... yes. Can I hear my neighbors...Yes. But that is part of living in a cheaper apartment.

Come on guys. If you are looking for a place to stay to make it as your happiness accommodation,…read moredon't choose this place. I had lived in this place for almost 5 yrs. the first two years was ok. I had the residential manager name Jason. He was a nice, polite , professional and care. I could say It was not bad. However, since the manager has been changed to a lady names Kathy Young man she is not professional, careless to most matters. I could say if you guy get to know her well, she is just a bitch with fake smiling on her face. Don't stay there. All you deposits will be no refund at all, plus she will try to find something to charge you guy like more than a month rent, or go up to two month rent. I am a cleaned freak. The place I lived has to be cleaned, organized. I had never worn shoes inside the house or neither my Friends and families. I vacuumed at least one a day. When I moved out, I had some friends came over to help clean it...bathroom, kitchen, living room, and bedroom. I bought a small vacuum steamer to clean the carpet. We did cleaning for two days. The place almost looks like the first time I moved in. No holes on the wall. I was impressed though to see it. Do you how much I had been charged?? $1100. They did not give me back my despot and said that they needed to deep clean the carpet and re paint some of the walls, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. Trust me guys I am telling the true. I don't want you guys waste your time and money, plus your happiness staying with this place. On the other hands, my car had been vandalized twice. I asked her to put a camera on it, not just for my safety, but to protect others. She responded " No", the management isn't allowed.
