I called Eilan to get a quote for structural plans for a small ADU project and he immediately kept cutting me off as I was speaking and asked me to send him plans. So I emailed him the plans with a narrative of what we want to do. He called back to get more clarity and as I was explaining he continued to cut me off before I could even complete a sentence, then he hung up the phone. We were in a real pinch for time in a project LADBS kept in asking for revisions. I found Eilan and while all the other engineers I called quoted turn around in weeks and thousands of dollars, he came to our office, discussed the project and had it back to us in a day for under a thousand. When the City asked for another revision he again was available the minute I called and we got the drawings back in the next day. The apt building I manage had to have a new guardrail built. I had no idea how to proceed. I called a few engineers and they all seemed disinterested in doing the job. Luckily I got a hold of Eilan who enjoys doing the 'little jobs.' Thank goodness he does! Eilan walked me through the entire process and created great designs. It turned out that I needed help from an architect as well which luckily was a good friend of Eilan's. After a few trips downtown I got approval to commence construction. There were many inspections required by the city and Eilan was always ready to assist. He also helped the contractor choose the appropriate material as well. The walkway finally got built after a year and I know for sure it would have taken longer if Eilan hadn't been there from the beginning. Eilan was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done to not only meet the design intent, but explained to my clients the importance of why it needed to be done.
