This is a gorgeous dog park; it's the best I've ever seen. + Fenced in area for small dogs with a wading pool, doggie drinking fountains, fire hydrants, lush green grass, covered seating and open seating for humans, and an airlock-style double gate system to prevent accidental escapes +Free bags for dog poo available. Bring your own if you can though. + The people who come here are awesome. Everyone is cool, kind, and takes care of their dogs. + There's an enormous fenced in area just for big dogs. There's big trees that kids enjoy climbing. + Theres a respectable sized duck pond with a little trail loop to walk around it. + There's a nice playground for kids just past the dog park. + There's plenty of parking. + Apart from the dog stuff this is a great, safe area where people hang out, barbecue, and spend time with friends. This dog park is a little less lively compared to some parks up north, so sometimes we just stay for a short while. This dog park definitely has a small town feel to it- it seems like most of the community members here know each other, and they are usually friendly and inclusive. Interesting note though- on a couple occasions, I've talked with dog owners who suddenly get into politics unprompted and I found that to be a bit awkward lol Most people are good about watching their dogs here and picking up after them, and it seems generally well-maintained.

For a county park this is a good, single section, "all dog" park. It has a good double gate, water, bags for dog cleanup, and a trash can. Parking is good, and the location is away from the main roads which is always a plus. It has one big tree for shade, and a child's playground nearby. The tractor gate (single gate that is extra wide for tractors) is locked (as it should be). Bathrooms are nearby, and scenery is fantastic. The local Spreckles Boy Scouts did a great job! We visited on 3 April 2024, a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Others were here before we popped in. Will come here again.

Also "because of covid" everyone has VERY unsocialized dogs here. My dog has been snapped on multiple times for no reason because owners havent socialized their aggressive dogs and decide to take them to the off leash park. and he is literally the sweetest boy, he COWARDS when dogs are aggressive. again, ive been going to parks with my boy for 8 months 3 times a werk and it has always been great experiences. We recently camped here with our Boy Scout troop and reserved the Youth Overnight Campsite. The…read morecampsite is spacious, with plenty of room for our tents, flagpole, and Scout skill games. The kitchen area is well equipped with multiple picnic tables, BBQ grills, and plenty of trash cans, which made camp cleanup much easier. The restrooms have flush toilets and were very clean for a public facility. Park staff checked and cleaned the restrooms regularly throughout our stay. The park also offers many recreational facilities, including basketball courts, tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, and a volleyball net near the picnic area. The park ranger who checked us in was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She stopped by our campsite several times to make sure everything was going well and provided detailed information during check-in. The only minor drawbacks were that the campfire pit is located across from the campsite, and the hiking trails are relatively short.
