The reasons why I want to update my review: Very relaxing atmosphere -- the center area isn't overly loud. Everything is very clean and well maintained. The skincare products they use feel nicer/better quality than what I've experienced at other spas. I also really appreciate that this is a 12+ facility, so there aren't small children running around. At some other spas, kids can be loud and make it harder to fully relax. Here, the atmosphere is much more peaceful, which makes a big difference when you're coming to relax

I had booked a massage service with Lisa the night before via their website - if you book a service, they waive the $40 admission fee. My friend was still able to book a scrub service when she went at 9am the same day. Inside is pretty spacious and clean. You are given 2 small towels, 1 larger towel, a set of t-shirt and shorts, and your locker wristband. Shoes go in a small locker and clothes go in a larger locker. It is recommended to shower before hopping into any of the pools. I did like their soap and other amenities they provide. Smells very nice. My only complaint is that they didn't have towels for you to grab freely if needed. I understand you can head to the front desk but it seems like a hassle to have to put on clothes and unlock the shoe locker for your shoes just to step a few feet outside for another towel. It'd be great if they had a space where guests can grab it on their own or have an employee be giving them out inside. The main lobby is really nice and pretty. It was very quiet and peaceful early in the morning. They have couches, recliners, mats in the lobby. I did a bit of light reading before my massage with Lisa. Lisa is fantastic and did a great job with the deep tissue massage. Afterwards, my friend and I wandered into the different rooms to relax. We did see a dead cockroach outside one of the rooms and we alerted a staff member in the kitchen who promptly disposed of it. I think he then went around spraying some roach treatment along the walls.

I've driven past here multiple times and didn't realize this was here. We started by soaking in the hot tubs, and my friends graciously booked me for the exfoliation scrub and massage, which was a 10 out of 10. My masseuse (sorry, I forgot your name!) was amazing!! I felt like a smooth baby afterwards. After that, we grabbed lunch at the restaurant attached to the spa. Thankfully, they provide slippers so you can just walk across the hallway to the restaurant. We ate well, and then spent the rest of our time in the saunas, which were amazing. I loved the range of saunas, and I appreciated that the common area had tons of space; it was quiet and serene. Definitely would recommend to others. It's a bang for your buck for all the services offered here. We'll definitely be back!

After a hot and humid vacation I felt like I had extra nasty dead skin cells so I told my Korean…read morefriend we needed to get a scrub together. K Spa is a Korea Spa. If you aren't familiar with a Korean spa, prepare to be naked in the wet areas, and they give you a spa outfit for the common areas. K Spa is really friendly for first timers cause they have a sheet with etiquette and rules for those not familiar with a Korean Spa experience. We made our spa reservation about 2 weeks in advanced. We both got the 60 Minute Oil Massage ($125) which comes with admission, Korean scrub, and an oil massage. Come at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment time if you're doing the scrub, as you need to soak for optimal dead skin cell removal. So we got lockers and out spa outfits. There is a shoe locker by the entrance and then larger lockers further inside. My friend and I started off taking a shower to clean off before going into the jacuzzis. The wet area has the same amenities as many other Korea spas. There are showers, both standing ones and sitting ones where you can scrub each other's backs or shave your own legs. There are cold, warm and hot jacuzzi. They have sauna. The size of the wet area and the individual jacuzzis are on the small side compared to other Korean spas I've been to. Anyways, we went to the warm jacuzzi and soaked for half an hour, with some brief water breaks in between. Towards the time of our appointment, we went towards the treatment area. The ladies look at the numbers on our locker keys and identify us for the treatment. My lady did not speak much English but that didn't matter cause we were able to communicate well nonverbally. The pressure was perfect and she was so thorough. I felt so clean after all that dead skin cells was removed. The oil massage was such a nice way to moisturize after getting scrubbed. The common areas are co-ed. The main space was really warm. It was too hot outside to deal with that warm feeling. There are also small communal rooms for ice, red clay, salt, and forest. We peaked in the common areas but we were getting hungry after our treatment so we decided to go to the restaurant connected to the spa. Didn't love the restaurant but it was nice having the option to eat something nearby and convenient. We paid at the entrance so when we left, we just had to return the keys and any tip envelops. The staff also have venmos and some even have zelle so that makes it easier if you're short on cash. Overall I thought it was great value for spending a few hours at the spa with my friend. Until next time.

I am begging you (the person who is thinking of signing up for a membership) to not do it…read more Honestly, I have been to several other locations and massage envy just sucks overall. But since this is my home location I will keep my review relevant to Whittier. They raise their prices $10 each year. Their front desk service is very inconsistent. Not sure if it's high turn over of employees but it's hit or miss. Many of the massage therapists who claim they are "firm" are not. Some talk your ear off and don't even pay attention to time. Facials are inconsistent. Some facials are good experiences with the person giving advice on how to manage the type of skin you have. Others will berate you on how you are using cheap products and should be using massage envy retail products. Booking here is ridiculous the reason I have experienced every therapist and aesthetician here is because the people I actually think are good are never available. I work a 9 to 5 so my options are very limited and I found that out very quickly when I signed that contract for my membership. I had immediate regret signing up but because I was dealing with postpartum and depression, getting massage was my self care and I just figured I would rough it out with my contract. I am usually the type of person that would order a steak and if I get chicken because the waiter messed up, I don't say anything. I would just say at least charge me for what I eat. I have had the same respect here. At the end of the day I knew that if I voiced my real opinions I would probably have had many of their staff fired. So I chose to just tip my 15% and book another appointment to use all the point I accumulate. Mind you I have had a lot of points in any given date because it was THAT inconvenient to book a decent massage therapist that I actually enjoyed. I have had to cancel before due to an emergency. They could not give a f***. They still threatened to take 50% of my pay for the services. Fine, it's in the fine print. It is what it is. So here is the cherry on top of this s*** show. I wanted to book my husband a massage for father's day. Of course there was no bookings. So I settled for the following week. I even booked myself one too and locked in a baby sitter, planned to get out of work early to make it on time etc. Morning of, we get a text saying that my husbands massage therapist was calling out sick and if we wanted to reschedule. I let them know I was so done with them. They WOULD NOT give me the money back (ironic huh?) so I was forced to reschedule my hubby's massage and then what did I get this morning? a text saying the same massage therapist her name is Raeann by the way, had called in sick again (so obviously don't trust her). I have since cancelled my membership but I want my $10 transfer fee to a non member ( my hubby) and my monthly $95 charge back since we have been cancelled on twice by the same person. Charge back with the bank is already in process. BUT why ? right? why should I have to go through this? I know for damn sure I am not the only unhappy member either. \ I encourage everyone to support local massage clinics and not a franchise chain that has lost everything they claim they stand for.

One of the first things I noticed was that the doors and windows aren't completely blacked out. You can actually see into the spa from outside, which immediately made the space feel more welcoming, professional, and comfortable. HUGE plus for me! I originally found Agave Beauty & Spa when I purchased a gift card for my aunt's 60th birthday. She absolutely LOVED her experience and has been coming back ever since Liz is now her go-to for facials, and Linda is her girl when she wants a strong massage! After hearing her rave about them, I finally decided to give Agave a try myself and... OHHH MY GOD! WHERE HAS THIS HIDDEN GEM BEEN?! My face was left feeling incredibly clean, refreshed, and rejuvenated. What I appreciated most was that there was ZERO pressure to buy expensive products, upgrade services, or add a bunch of extras. I've been to places where the constant upselling completely ruins the relaxing experience and leaves a bad taste in your mouth. None of that here. The service felt genuine, professional, and focused on what I actually needed. If you're looking for quality massages, facials, and professional spa services, I HIGHLY recommend Agave Beauty & Spa in Uptown Whittier. I work for the city, so best believe I'll be spreading the word about this hidden gem! 5 STARS -- you've definitely gained another customer!

Most spas offer lymphatic drainage with a facial, but I didn't want that. I just wanted the massage. I found Agave through Yelp and I am so glad I did. This place is located on a quiet street in uptown Whittier. There's free parking in front on the street or a free parking structure directly across. The place is small on the outside but seems bigger on the inside. It's super clean and gives off a relaxing vibe. The massage room has a wall of battery operated candles that give off that ambient lighting and the soothing music is the cherry on top. Liz is so sweet. Talking to her feels like talking to an old friend. She's knowledgeable and good at what she does. The first session I did, I just got the facial massage, but during my session she learned I was post op and suggested the chin contour treatment which comes with red light therapy to promote healing and another machine that uses heat to help tighten the skin. The massage feels like a good type of pain. I know she's working her magic and I leave Agave with my jawline snatched. I love how she suggests things I can do while at home, in between sessions. And she makes sure I'm doing my part to help myself heal. I can't wait to be fully healed and try the other treatments they offer. The prices are super reasonable which is why I'll for sure be back and be referring anyone and everyone.
