Decided to stop by this coffee shop while walking to our lunch spot for a quick warm drink. My family and I each ordered a small size dine in and we were pleased with the portion of coffee. Flavor & coffee quality was pretty good and tasty. My siblings got a matcha latte and it tasted authentic and not all sugar. My other sister got a hot chocolate and had a great chocolate-y flavor, but was also not overly sweet, which was good. My parents got an aroma coffee & macchiato, and they were also pleased w the flavor of them. Our coffees came out swiftly, but the service was a bit iffy. Service felt a bit rude and rushed? I felt that w the cashier and then when I got all 6 drinks on the tray, I asked what drink was what and she rushed the first time saying it, so I asked again and she was super annoyed to tell me the drinks again. So with the service I knock the rating down to 3 stars overall; 4 stars for the coffee quality. This location is pretty intimate and in a busy corner, so it could be difficult to find seating at a busy time. Parking is tough since it's in DT, you'll have to source paid parking at a nearby lot.

Right off the street, and quite busy! Even with the amount of service they are receiving, your order still comes out quickly. The store is quite small with not many tables, but still certainly worth getting a cup to go. I haven't tried the food yet, but they seem to have a lot of good looking options! Highly recommend!

Delicious matcha! Delicious pastries! Very fast service and wide selection. Ambiance is lovely and they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

A decent place right next to the CN tower Toronto downtown. It's a cozy little sit down place with a variety of soups, bowls and sandwiches to order from. They have multiple vegetarian options but I didn't check if they have vegan food available or not. Their service is good. You place order and take a seat, then when your name is called ,you go pick up food from the serving counter. This is a business casual and family friendly restaurant. I didn't check to see if they have outdoor seating or not. Roadside metered parking is available. If not, you have to use garage parking.

This is great coffee spot! Very modern, and the service is very quick with ample seating provided. The coffee is delicious, and the baristas friendly. What more can you ask for in a cafe?

Service was pleasant, helpful, and cheery. The food came out fast and was a fair price. I would return on these points. Turkey BLT was good. Bread was fresh but sliced a little thicker than I prefer. It was suggested I have the white bread and I should have stuck to my normal and had whole wheat (saw someone else's and it looked better). One slice, all be it relatively large, of turkey bacon, fair amount of deli turkey, insipid tomatoes (to be fair it is February, but these were pretty bad), and one small slice of Romaine. When I saw the thickness of the bread, I asked for a side of mayo (good move). The half portion is plenty unless you are famished. My dad and I split a whole. Coffee was good. Cocoa was great. The shop has the feel of a chain coffee shop. Nothing special, but bustling and agreeable. A few tables and chairs (all full when we arrived) and a few seats at bars looking out the window. Great for people watching.

Strawberry smoothie and strawberry rhubarb tart
    Lili J.

We were staying in a hotel right next to this place and wanted to stop in for a quick breakfast. I honestly just was not that impressed. I tried a strawberry rhubarb tart which I'm pretty sure had a little bit of mold on it and just tasted more like pastry than strawberries or rhubarb. I also had the strawberry smoothie and it was good but it did separate pretty fast. The service was okay but they did seem annoyed that we were taking time to figure out what we wanted. Also, we had ordered a breakfast sandwich and a side of bacon which were for different people but they put the bacon on the sandwich. This was a problem because I don't like eggs and they had put the bacon right on top of the eggs. When I told them this and asked for another side of bacon, they just took it off and put it on a plate and didn't make a different slice of bacon. This could definitely be a problem for people who have allergies and need food to be separate. I was just really not impressed.

    Portobello mushroom croissant

Your average coffee place in Canada. This one is across ripleys aquarium which was a respite after a long walk. Had the portobello croissant, delicious if the cheese is a bit less generous. Maybe it's me, too much cheese was just overwhelming. Love the alfalfa greens though. Friend had the pasta with vinaigrette dressing. A-ok!!

This espresso bar was right outside my hotel and after drinking hotel coffee for a week, decided it was time to break that. Going in this place has a lot of different options for coffee and espresso drinks as well as food. Drinks are like Starbucks in terms of size, style, and selection. Food was like a Starbucks menu on steroids! I got my typical americano. WAY BETTER THAN STARBUCKS. Very smooth drink. Was able to add cream and sugar from their little bar on the side. I also got a fig and goat cheese croissant. Highly recommend. Warning, not a small croissant so if you aren't a big breakfast person, maybe split one. The croissant was very flaky and the combination of the sweet figs with the tangy goat cheese was awesome. Came slightly warmed and everything blended together very well. The arugula added a nice peppery note every once in a while which was nice, but did also fall off sometimes. Still highly recommend. All in all, probably should have been here all week, but at least I could experience it before I left. Service was ok. Not rude or ambivalent, but not overly friendly. I'm fairness, it was early, I didn't know what I wanted and she was busy

    Protein power bowl
    Susan N.

The nearby brunch place my friends and I wanted to go to had a long wait so we decided to come here. I ordered the kale power bowl and added chicken and smoked salmon. It was packed with lots of flavor! I really enjoyed it. I also got a berry house brewed tea and thought it was the perfect drink for my power bowl :)

It's somewhat ironic that my second cup didn't occur at Second Cup but at Aroma. What I mean is that I've been to Aroma twice and Second Cup once. OK, maybe it wasn't so much ironic as it was inevitable since there appeared to be a lot more Aromas downtown. It's pretty much the Canuck Starbucks, eh? The C$5.25 Brewed Coffee did me just fine between work meetings. It slipped in and out of my stomach and memory, in that order. COFFEE - 3 stars...good flavor during a cold snap AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...these Aromas have big spaces SERVICE - 3.5 stars...efficient TOTAL - 3 stars...a third cup seems likely on my next trip to Toronto RELATED - Traveling to Toronto? Drinks I tried: Maple Goguma Latte - Slightly nutty, lightly sweet, and super comforting. I added a shot of espresso, which made it perfectly balanced and not too sweet. Dalgona Latte - A really fun drink with great texture. Just make sure to stir it well since the sweetness settles at the bottom. They're known for their creative, seasonal drink menu, and I'm already excited to come back to try what they release next season. Definitely a must-visit if you love cozy cafés, unique drinks, and supporting local artists.

But $12 for a small drink that's mostly ice is a tough sell. Two drinks and a breakfast sandwich came to $36, which stung a little more when we sat down for a full lunch for two people right after for a similar amount. To put it in perspective: a venti matcha latte with milk alternatives at Starbucks run under $8. When did Starbucks become the budget option? The cafe itself is cute and the staff were genuinely friendly, which counts for something. But there weren't any proper tables to actually sit and enjoy your drinks, which felt like a bit of an oversight for a cafe experience. The drinks were fine. Mine had a sparkling milk in it, which was a fun and unique touch. But in terms of taste, nothing really wowed me or made me want to order it again. The breakfast sandwich was a letdown too. Honestly, a McMuffin would've been more satisfying. Cute spot with good energy, but the value just isn't there. Hard to justify coming back when so many other cafes in the city deliver more for less.

My husband had his usual Cobb Salad, which he thinks is particularly well done at Landwer's. Our other dining companion had schnitzel, which came with some angel hair pasta. He enjoyed it very much.
