The previous owners of a home we purchased had used Arnoldo's, weren't that happy with them, but we thought we would give him a try. In April he came by to check out our property for future services but kept looking at his watch as if he had other places to go. He said he would mail out an estimate for regular services to resume. We did not receive anything but in late May we developed an unexpected big leak in our drip system on a Saturday and called Arnoldo, but he said he was going out of town for a week and would check in when he returned. REALLY! We turned the water off ourselves and bought a repair kit. We had to ask if he had any other employees to help, he did send someone to fix the leak the following Monday but only after we asked.
Arnoldo is portraying us as demanding customers for asking for back up help on a Saturday because he was leaving on a vacation.....LIKE ok you will be gone but don't you have any back up crew for things like this !!!
We texted again for a regular service contract in May and did not receive anything so had no regular service in May either. An apology was texted with a promise to send it out.
Then in June we asked him to schedule a day to come by to check that the landscape was receiving enough water because things seemed dry again. He again by text apologized for not getting back to us and promised again to send paperwork and scheduled to come in next day or so.
But on the date scheduled to come he texted that it would be a 45 min. trip for him up to us and he would have to charge, which was expected of course. Of course! Why did he even have to contact us? Or he said it would be really easier for his crew to swing by later in the week when they were in the area. We said it would be fine and not to make a personal special 45 min trip, just come later in the week. WE were being courteous to him but he thought we wanted his crew to come for free. How he misunderstood that we will never understand.
Arnoldo explained in a text he hadn't gotten around to contract/billing or communication because he had personal "endeavors" like moving and just didn't have the time to get our charges and estimates.
We expected to pay of course but we needed a bill or some communication to work off of, we had nothing and we had no regular maintenance. Arnoldo somehow got the perception or misunderstanding in his head we were wanting free work because we were CONSIDERATE and actually were willing to wait for service when his crews were in the area. When we told him it was ok to send his guys HE became angry and picked the phone and personally called. What he said to my wife she never saw coming, saying ,"He now has a big second home from his successful second generation business and he does not NEED customers like US wanting work for free and have attitude, he can CHOOSE his customers!! Well well well. He became really verbally angry and made my wife cry on the phone. We had only met this guy once and never received any estimate or bill from him and now he was telling us he cannot work with us, we have a bad attitude and are ignorant for questioning him for a contract and information. Maybe he assumed us questioning him was putting him down. His perceptions got the best of him.We tried ad really wanted this to work.
So we ASK for a contract/estimate/billing for 3 months, get NOTHING and we are the bad guys!! We say, "Can you come by and he literally screams that we have paid for nothing and we are #$*& and &*#. So there is no talking to this guy.
Now on line he is of course portraying us as problem customers after we posted a review. He was the one aggravated with a Saturday leak call, not wanting to respond and just lacking business financial paperwork skills. Well good people will see thru that. We really wanted this to work and we did try. Resorting to name calling on your customers is not cool.
This is one of those circumstances where you scratch your head and say what went wrong here ??!! Who is this guy ??!! This business will not last with an attitude, lack of patience and a short fuse like this. So uncool !!! Someone may say masogonist! read more
