We were staying at White Mountain Motel and Cottages and before heading to Mt Washington, we were searching place for breakfast, little did we know, it was just near the hotel. This is a real diner!!! While we were vacationing in the White Mts. my SIL spotted this diner and wanted to try it. I quickly got on Yelp to check out what people were saying about it and we were good to go!!! We stopped in on a Friday morning and we were disappointed to see so so many cars parked in and around the diner. We parked up the road and walked to the diner figuring we would have quite a wait, BUT there were seats available!!!! There was 7 of us going out for breakfast and they had 7 seats at the counter!!! Yay!!! We all ordered our breakfasts and our server passed out crayons to the kids so they could color while we waited for breakfast. When our breakfasts came my grandson who had ordered home fries was disappointed that they had paprika on them (I love paprika!!), but our lovely server brought him back a new order that didn't have paprika on them (yay, saved the day). Arrived about 9:30 AM on a Saturday during peak leaf season. Got sat very promptly at the bar. The service was outstanding! The food was perfect! I ordered two eggs over easy with potatoes and sausage and rye toast. Literally the best I've ever had! The rye toast was so flavorful. I buy rye at home from Publix, this was soooo much better! Stopped by this retro looking roadside diner on our drive from VT to NH. It's a small place with about 7 or 8 booths and 12 or so stools at the counter. All booths were full so we sat at the counter. Courtney was our server and she was nice and had a cute smile. Food was basic diner type food- my omelette was good and pretty beefy. The blueberry pancakes were loaded with blueberries! They serve a good amount of food for the money. Good service. If it's not crowded then it's a good place to stop for a quick bite. If you don't see any people standing outside then it's probably good to go- when they have a wait, they ask people to wait outside because the inside is very small- not sure what they do in the winter tho! read more

Unfortunately the food was disappointing to say the least. The western omelet had potential if they had cooked it all the way through and the egg was not still wet and runny inside. The "stuffed French toast" was the most disappointing part of the meal. It was 2 pieces of French toast with a hard slab of cream cheese on the middle and a couple slices of strawberry. Maybe putting the cream cheese in the mixer with some vanilla and a little sugar or something to smooth is out and whip it up a bit?? The service however was great. The guy out front was super friendly and did a great job interacting with the customers. The place is small and has the old 50s diner feel to it. We are staying at the Mount Liberty motel and we were looking for breakfast. I saw the parking lot full the day before but I couldn't find the place on yelp. I convinced my husband to just give it a try. Turns out the Diner is listed under 'food trucks' and is not in the correct location on the map. The man at the front took our name, we waited about 20 minutes to be called. They were having a bit of a backup in the kitchen but the staff was gracious, offered us coffee refills to keep us happy. The food itself was awesome. What's more, it was a bargain in what is essentially a touristy kind of town. If you are the propietor of Arnold's Wayside Diner, you really need to charge a wee bit more. That way you can drive the Mercedes you richly deserve. This is definitely a hidden gem in the area. We stopped there twice during our recent trip to the White Mountains and will definitely stop in again in the fall and next summer. Great service, portions are large and prices are very reasonable. The pancakes were great, wife enjoyed her e omelet (and she's picky about them) and Corned beef hash was notably made with actual brisket and not canned that is standard in many places.
