The service at Rock Harbor has been exceedingly slow and nonchalant from the day the restaurant opened. We hesitate to go there for that reason. However, at this time of the year in this area, they are the only game in town and they know it.
We took some friends for dinner last night and our precious impressions were validated in spades. Took 20 minutes for the waitress to take a drink order. (We discussed leaving, but like I said, it's pretty much the only place to go for a full, decent meal). I felt badly for the servers. There were two people covering the bartending and waiting tables. When we arrived there were at least 8 tables as well as people at the bar.
Their food is usually pretty good, not outstanding, but good for the area. They have a captive audience and obviously know it because the service quality hasn't changed in 20 + years.
So, if you have a lot of time, it's one of the best (and only) places around. read more
